RE: Help!!!! Travel Trailer Back in

Last year I switched over from a cl c back to a TT and decided to buy a Hensley WD hitch which is a different breed to hook up. At any event the first camping trip went great until I had to back up and couple the stinger into the hitch. Took me almost an hour to get that stinger straight and while doing so I had several folks asked if I needed help. I replied "no"... I was determined to do it myself. Fast forward to when I got home that day. I practiced hooking and unhooking for several hours. Now it's a breeze. Moral of the story, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again".

RE: Help!!!! Travel Trailer Back in

Place one hand on the steering wheel at the 6 o'clock position. Then turn the wheel to the side where you want your trailer to go. You'll be fine with a little practice.

RE: Hitch Receivers and Trailers

Last month I was following a car pulling an enclosed trailer with his Harley inside when suddenly the trailer jacked knifed and bounced around until the driver was able to stop. Fortunately there was no damaged to the Bike or trailer. As I helped lift the trailer back on the receiver I noticed he had a 1-7/8" ball and the trailer's coupler a 2". That's when I decided to paint ball coupler to trailer.

Hitch Receivers and Trailers

Ever get confused as to which ball receiver to to which trailer? I tow multiple trailers (not all as once lol) , two with 2" and two with 2-5/16" couplers. Decided to spray paint the 2" ball receiver with Red and White on the 2-5/16". I also painted the trailer's coupler accordingly to match the sized ball receiver. Now there's no mistaking which receiver is used to which trailer. Just thought I'd share.

RE: Tow Vehicle Liability Insurance

I'm thinking you mean OE, not OEM. OEM can absolutely be a crapshoot. OE, not so much. OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer OE = Original Equipment You get the point As they said in Asia, "Same Same".

RE: Tow Vehicle Liability Insurance

I've had GEICO since 18 yrs old. Decided recently to compare premiums so called my home owner insurance State Farm. Theirs was only $300 less but their coverage was less plus glass replacement was $500 deductible where GEICO was free. Decided to stay with GEICO.

RE: My Chevrolet Express van Class B- camper

Sorry for not updating my quest for a van. Last month I found this '10 Ford e350 w/55k miles from original owner. Had a wheel chair lift that was almost impossible to give away free but fortunately I found a taker for his wife. It'll be used as a Home Depot run as well as my tow vehicle for my boat or TT so will only install a sofa bed and a slider tray underneath for easy loading and removing overnight camping gear. BTW J herb, nice setup on your conversion. Also Black'95 as well.

RE: F-150 best add on mirrors for this shape of mirror

Wish ford made the large F-series tow mirrors for the e-series vans. The van has the small convex mirrors that's harder to see the curbs when making right hand turns.

RE: Reservations in California

State CG will probably stay closed until the pandemic is over or a minimum, controlled. Even the county CG's are closed but I've noticed many RV's on the road headed in all different directions. Don't know where they're headed though.

RE: Roadside assistance

Re-reading the Platinum Roadside Assistance membership includes Operational and Technical Assistance by Certified RV Technicians. So will a tech come out to get my vehicle started?

RE: Roadside assistance

I never have used GS in the many years I've been a member. But today I couldn't get my tow vehicle started so I called to schedule a tow for January 7th, 2021 which is the soonest my garage can squeeze me in. The recorded message had me to go thru a series of questions.. punching numbers/letters as what I needed, what type vehicle, yada, yada so I did and added a note that I want to schedule a tow for January 7th. Shortly later I get a text to call 800-xxx-xxxx and use my phone number as reference which I called. That call then transfer me to dispatch..HUH?? So I explain that I need a tow for January 7th but was told they can't schedule that far out and to call on Sunday to schedule. "Okay, I'll call Sunday" says I. Shortly after I get a call asking what type vehicle and when and where do I want the tow. HUH again??? I explained again that I need a tow..."Oh never mind" I said, "I don't need a tow". End of conversation but wait...I get a text asking if I still need a tow and what type of vehicle. I didn't reply and now have a head ache.

FREE Wheel Chair LIft

I have a near new condition Wheel Chair Lift for FREE. I recently bought a 2010 Ford e350 Super Duty van with 55K original miles that has this lift installed at the side doors. The seller was the original van and lift owner, said they only used it to transport their son to doctors appointment. Said they paid $5k installed for the lift. I've contacted several handicap as well as Veteran organizations to donate the lift but none accept lifts, only wheel chairs. I live in Sacramento, Ca area and hoping to find someone who could really benefit having this wheel chair. I realize distance is a factor but am willing to travel a reasonable distance to donate the lift. I don't have the room to store it and if no takers then it goes to the landfill. PM me best if interested. The mfr is Ricon "S" model, looks new and operates great.
