RE: To buy a generator or not...

Consider the weight on a Honda eu3000w or a Predator 3500. Are you able to lift it by yourself and where do you carry it? Those two factors had me sell my Honda 3k and bought two 2000w generators. I use a parallel cord to run both for my AC but 90% of the time one is only needed for appliances and lights. Each weighs about 50 lbs vs 100+ lbs on the Honda or Predator. I stow them inside the trailer when traveling. Just offering another side of the coin.

RE: Question on my Travel-Lite

I purchased my '10 R-Vision 28'OAL last year and so far have had no problems but made several modifications ie swapping analog to digital thermostat, rear carrier, front generator carrier and upgraded the roof AC. I will be changing the manual awning to a Solera power along with the fabric from Tough Top awning. https://i.imgur.com/x0t1TYBl.jpg

RE: Thank Heavens for Our Motorhome

Several years ago had massive fire that knocked down PG&E lines and we had no power for 4 days. That's when I had eu3k Honda that I hooked up an extension cord to the house for the Fridge, lamps and TV. Since then I installed a transfer switch and replaced the Honda with a Predator. Fortunately I haven't had power outage since but am ready.

RE: Great Online Order Experience!

I normally shop for the best price and quickest delivery date and have bought several items for those reasons from CW.

RE: Roadside Assistance

I have AAA, Geico and Good Sams and all suck when needed. You have to go thru a recorded messaging system until you get a live person then there's at least an hour or more wait for the tow truck. But in the end, it's better to have towing insurance than not. BTW AAA is not available in all States.

RE: Honda Gen EU2000i and EU2200i Companion

Not only to those two but as an example can also parallel connect 2000 watts to 3500 watts generators. https://www.desertcart.co/products/41323584-powerhorse-parallel-cable-kit-connects-2-000-watt-to-3-500-watt-generators

RE: Super frustrating AC issue

If all things failed then call a mobile RV mechanic.

RE: Parallel 2 2200s and a 1000

It's interesting that two Honda 2200 wasn't enough to run your AC and MW. But as 2oldman mentioned, by shutting down the AC for a couple of minutes should have preventing having to connect the 1k generator. But good to know the three worked like a charm, thx.

RE: Toy Hauler instead of TT (to carry 16' boat)

Are you suggesting to place your boat with trailer inside the toy hauler? Then back the trailer, open the ramp and back off the boat trailer? Your truck and camper or a class C or class A are the most practical towing and launching a boat.

RE: When to throw in the towel...

Similar thing happened to the wife and I the weekend before last. We got to the campground, hooked up but the AC compressor didn't kick in Ambient temp was 100° and inside the trailer reached 115°. Was unbearable so loaded the two dogs and we drove home leaving the trailer and driving back the next morning to tow it home. Bought and replaced an AC replacement then switched them out last Friday. Didn't get to run the replacement it til yesterday. Kept the AC off til the ambient temp reached 100° this afternoon and inside the trailer was 105°. Turned the AC on and within a half hour the new unit dropped the temp to 85. We're headed out this weekend for a week's camping. Happy wife...happy life.

RE: Camping in a high temperature area.

Wife and I went camping Jun 18th for three days. Ambient temp was 100° and rising at the campgrounds on our first day. AC compressor would trip the breaker within minutes. Unbearable temp reached 113° inside so we left the trailer and drove home. Returned the next morning and towed the trailer back home. I had problems with the AC tripping the breaker last year so I replaced the capacitor and added a hard start capacitor. Tested it out and had no further problem until last week's camping. With the heat wave we've having, I decide to just replace the AC with new, so swapped the existing 11 yr old last week and finished yesterday. Today's ambient temp was 100° and inside was a comfortable 78° at the minimum temp setting. Happy wife, happy life. We're headed out this Friday for a week's camping.

RE: Coleman thermostats sensor wires

For me, I normally take a picture of the wire connections before removing. But every now and then I forget :S

RE: Check those prices

I called the local RV parts store for a roof AC gasket and was quoted $39.95 plus tax. I ordered the gasket on Amazon for $20. I don't mind paying a little more to support local businesses but not 100% markup.

RE: Looking for new tow vehicle

I sold my Yukon XL and replaced it with a Ford e250 super duty van. Tows great with my 23.5 boat or 28' travel trailer. I do have a Hensley hitch which makes towing each great. https://i.imgur.com/V3KEqAul.jpg Am currently hooked up to my trailer and headed out in a few to camp this weekend. Will post pics later.
