RE: Do we have a pickup glut already?

I've finally accepted that it will be much cheaper to drive my current pickup into the ground, repairing as needed along the way. I don't like it, but I'm not paying the BS prices they're asking these days. And I'm not holding my breath waiting for this glut to have a positive impact.
I think this has always been true. Trading in every year or three is an expensive lifestyle. I typically keep a truck 12 to 15 years and get everything I can out of it before buying another.

RE: Truck starts on its own

Pop the hood release and see if that doesn’t disable the remote start.
I believe most factory remote starts are disabled by the hood switch to protect service techs from dumb customers.

RE: Safety: Microwave Fire!

I use a paper towel or a paper plate with food on it, all the time and never have had an issue..
Same here for over 25 years now with no issues. Food instructions often say to cover with a wet or dry paper towel depending on what's cooking.
Yes, the problem was not the paper towel. There is no issue with covering food with a paper towel in a microwave. I’ve never put a paper towel under a plate but see no problem with that either. The issue here was entirely due to running the microwave empty. Anything on the loose piece of paper was subjected to all the wattage and quickly hit ignition temperature.
