RE: Is GasBuddy any use at all now??

I use it any time I am planning a trip. I will say that it is much more simple to use on a computer, but I can still make it work on my android phone and tablet.

RE: Two part ??? - Has your camping reservation been cancelled?

Well, another campground is canceled. Now we are up to three cancelations on this trip. We were supposed to be on Big Sur starting today. At least I found someone else's cancelation in Santa Cruz. So we have a campsite, but we will be listening to the freeway all night. Highway 1 on Big Sur would be much more peaceful!

Two part ??? - Has your camping reservation been cancelled?

Two part Question - Has your camping reservation been cancelled? And part two - Will you choose to cancel your reservation even if the campground is open? Both questions are about the fires burning in many places right now. And all of the smoke that goes along with the fires. My answer: Two of the campgrounds on our upcoming three week trip have already been cancelled. Another one is currently closed, but is scheduled to reopen a couple of days before we get there. As of right now, we will go for it. Quote from news article in today's paper: More than 24,000 camping reservations out of 3.2 million so far this year have been canceled due to wildfires, according to data kept by, which books campsites on most federal lands.

RE: CA National Forests closed for two weeks

I just received my email this morning from To better provide public and firefighter safety due to the ongoing California wildfire crisis, USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is announcing a temporary closure of all National Forests in California. This closure will be in effect from Aug. 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. through September 17, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. “We do not take this decision lightly but this is the best choice for public safety,” said Regional Forester Jennifer Eberlien. “It is especially hard with the approaching Labor Day weekend, when so many people enjoy our national forests.” Your campground reservation for the Klamath National Forest will be cancelled and a full refund issued.

RE: Mechanics backed up for weeks all over?

I just scheduled my Class C for an oil change today. Made an appointment for Thursday. Also just had my toad serviced last week. I think I made an appointment on Tuesday for the following Monday. But if you want a specialist, yes, you might have to wait.

RE: Just experienced our first Non-refundable campground

I'm guessing a lot of the people replying to the topic have not looked at a map. Lake Almanor is surrounded on three sides by active fire. At the fire is still very much burning towards that 4th side that has not burned yet. The O.P. did not name the campground, but it may not even be there in three weeks. Multiple highways in that area are closed. There is probably only one way in, and it may be closed as well. Currently the fire has consumed over 500,000 Acres. The entire area around Lake Almanor is under an evacuation order.

RE: Mt Rainier and North Cascades

Only White River is first come, first served. You need reservations at Cougar Rock and Ohanapecosh (but there are a few sites that are FC/FS, and all of the good sites are reservation only). There are no hook ups at any campground in Rainier.

RE: Chasing music festivals

Try this link. I seem to remember finding a better source for finding blues festivals. If I can find it, I'll post another link. Have fun, where ever you go!

RE: Recycling engine heat for hot water tank

There is nothing all that special about a RV Motor Aid water heater. I think they come in 6 gallon and 10 gallon sizes. Here are install instructions Motor Aid Install I have one in my RV. It's located in the rear corner, as far as you can get from the engine/heater core. It's just heater hose and Y's in the hot & return. Now, your question about how much would a dealer charge you to install one. Quoting you a price for a vehicle you don't even own yet? That would be a little difficult. But expect to pay somewhere in the $700 - $800 range for the Motor Aid water heater.

RE: H44 recall

Why would you not want to have the fix made? Do you really want your engine to run worse, and have soot problems? Link to Recall H44.pdf The Engine Control Module (ECM) on about 39,100 of the above vehicles may not actuate the EGR valve sufficiently to prevent soot accumulation, resulting in improper valve operation or sticking. Improper valve operation may cause excessive exhaust emissions, illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp and a vehicle limp-in condition.

RE: 30 amps for 50 amp trailer

No split - only one will work. No you can't damage anything. Basically you are only powering up half of the breaker panel. Only the things on the hot side will work.Incorrect post. The 30/50 adapter connects both 50A hots to the 30A hot so you will have 120V everywhere in the rig. Run either A/C and it they are smaller both may be OK. You will not damage anything by using the adapter, assuming good pedestal voltage. IF you have a EMS then you may need to switch it from 20A to 30A since it cannot tell the difference and will default to 20A. Sorry, my error. Thinking of a different wiring system.

RE: Windows 10 Windows Media Player??

Have you ever imported or created playlists from other programs? I don't know for sure, but it would not surprise me if WMP is restoring playlists from the playlist folder. So find your playlist folder and see how many playlists are in that folder. You may have to delete them from there. Where does Windows Media Player store playlists? By default, playlists are saved with a .wpl extension in the Playlists folder, which is usually located in the Music folder. I no longer use WMP for a number of reasons. My suggestion would be try the free version of J. River Media Jukebox.

RE: Lassen Volcanic NP Highway 89

Just booked a site at Manzanita Lake this morning! We'll be driving a class C with toad. Probably coming in on 44. Current plan is just use the toad to explore 89 inside the park. Then departing Northbound on 44/89 and connecting up with I-5 near Mt. Shasta.

RE: Water Pump Issue

Your check valve has failed, or is stuck. It could be as simple as re-seating the check valve. Here are the instructions to fix. Helpful hint: Never push the check valve in when the systems is pressurized, even just a little bit of water pressure. If you can't fix right away, all you need is a male garden hose plug. Just screw it in where you would put your hose and it will seal the pressure.
