RE: How cold should the air conditioning get the RV?

Last year we had a 28 Keystone RLS, with one A/C unit, in a duck system. Visiting our Daughter in Dallas Texas, taught us a lesson, on the need for 2 AC systems in summer heat. This year we have a Reflection 303 RLS 5th Wheel, with 2 AC units. The new 5th wheel has an R40 roof and R30 floors. The previous light weight TT had nothing near that. The 2nd AC unit helps lower the temps quickly, and keep them there. The Grand Design Reflection this summer has maintained 73-75 degrees, in the daytime, with no issues all day long, even when feel like temperatures outside, have hit 109. One key point is; AC units need to cycle. That's why in a couple places we camped this summer, we had to raise the inside temp to 75 instead of 73 a couple days.

RE: rockies or smokey's

I never use cruise towing in the mountains, and wonder why some do. I'm in no hurry, and its also hard on the power train. I totally agree.

RE: fifth wheel gas stops

I'm new in 5th wheel but have towed a 33 travel trailer for over 12k miles last year, behind a gas GMC Sierra.. Planning is the key. I use Google maps and street view to plan out my route, and I always plan a stop at 1/2 a tank, just in case, the station I thought was "OK" turned out to be a "no go".
