RE: In Need of a 2013 Ram 3500 Switch Bank Wiring Harness

Sorry, I'm of no help, but, man, what a terrible turn of events. Having been on (too many) forums for these trucks, cannot say I've heard of that issue until now. Best of luck getting it repaired! But, are you saying that whole switch bank was intermittent or not operable at all prior to the first replacement of the switch bank and then it worked 100% of the time for a couple months and is now intermittent again? If so, that seems to me to be either the new switch bank or possibly a bad connection. If the new switch fixed the same condition previously. Yes on all points. It fixed the issue then went bad. Many variables now. Could even be an open not a short and need solder. Any good shops for electrical in Spokane? And I might just have them replace the switch again.

RE: In Need of a 2013 Ram 3500 Switch Bank Wiring Harness

How about a wiring harness from a truck in a junk yard? That is what Spaulding does as someone previously said. I did call them and they have something but trying to get part number first.

You're out of warranty, get it to a good diesel shop and to heck with the dealer service department. Name one because I really don't know of any around Spokane. PM me

Do you have the part number for the harness? Try Dave Smith I don't. The Truck is at the dealer in Spokane so not to far but I would think they would reach out to Dave Smith.

RE: Air Filters For Your Trucks

I said "FleetGuard oil filters are not made in USA any longer so that is another reason I switched" Ram trucks are made in Mexico. LOL. Yet, Cummins12V98 hasn't switched. And which Truck is now 100% USA; enlighten us

In Need of a 2013 Ram 3500 Switch Bank Wiring Harness

I have been having issues with the Switch bank which controls the Tow Haul, Exhaust brake, park Sensor which is all located below the Uconnect. Sometimes it works, other times nothing, or 30 min down the road it works. The dealer a couple months ago replaced the switch bank and everything worked. Now it works as I mentioned and the diagnosis is a short in the wiring harness. Problem now is that the harness has been discontinued. I really don't understand that when the truck is only 8 years old but what do I know. And with what did they replace it with if anything. Can someone direct me to help find this part or recommend something else?

RE: Big Tires pulling Small tires.

Bottom line. Re-pack those bearings regularly ! This is exactly what I told him. Also told him to do it himself. I pulled recently cargo trailer wheels that had been done last summer by a place I know that I thought did good work. I was amazed at what they considered packed. Do them yourself save and know.

RE: Big Tires pulling Small tires.

So the tire spins 1.3 times faster but we really don't know the speed of those small tires? Can we say 1.3 times faster than the truck, or 78 mph? No, you can’t. That would be nothing more than a variation of the trick question: “Which weighs more, a pound of feathers, or a pound of lead?” The tires spin at a higher RPM, but the MPH is the exact same as the truck pulling it. :S :):) Ya dun caught me

RE: Big Tires pulling Small tires.

CA speed limit is 55 mph for all vehicles towing. So it's perfectly safe to run 70mph in Nevada but cross the state line and suddenly, it's dangerous? This is a political rule that has nothing to do with the tire speed rating. Pull the model and look up the speed rating. There is always someone in the bunch. They write more tickets.

I wonder if it's safe to ram food in as fast using a salad fork vice a regular fork. Try it out and report back

RE: Big Tires pulling Small tires.

Actually his old trailer is an old U-haul but he says it doesn't say that 45 mph rule anywhere. The tires on it are new and for a car since he really doesn't weigh it down any. The tire brand and specs say 937 lbs at max pressure which I don't know what that is. So the tire spins 1.3 times faster but we really don't know the speed of those small tires? Can we say 1.3 times faster than the truck, or 78 mph?

Big Tires pulling Small tires.

A friend of mine asked me a question that I could not answer about his tires and towing. He has a small trailer weighing about 300 lbs unloaded and can carry up to 1000lbs total. Now the trailer has 13 inch wheels on it and his truck is a Dodge with 17 inch wheels. If he is going 60 mph, how fast do you suppose his 13 inch wheels are going? I suspect he means revolutions but you get it. He wasn't sure he could go that fast or faster in fear of burning up the trailer bearings. I really could not answer his question other than to say get them greased with good grease and try it out. Stop every 10-20 miles and see how warm they get. Of course I told him to put some weight in it as well to simulate the trip load and see. Anyone else know how to answer him?

RE: Air Filters For Your Trucks

No one here even mentions Wix. Why? Simply NOT the same quality as MOPAR or FleetGuard. I posted the one I run and I think by now you know I am a pick MoFo just order it and be happy!!! Yup. Going for it but was just curious that Wix wasn't in the mix

Air Filters For Your Trucks

So what air filters do you run in your gas/Diesels besides K&N? Time to replace mine and looking toward Fleetgaurd but could o with the OE Mopar.
