RE: TFT Code for ScanGauge 2 ??

When I was having difficulty getting my Ford V-10 class C to read the trans temps after trying all the manual suggestions, I called Scan-Gage and they explained what I had missed. That made it work, so might want to just call them. Bad news, I contacted ScanGauge, see below. Apparently it can report a 5-speed, but not a 6-speed Allison transmission fluid temperature. Thanks anyways... We have been told from other customers that those parameters do not report properly on vehicles with that transmission because the parameters work on a 5-speed Allison, but not the 6-speed. I'm not sure why this is the case, but it seems that it is something with how the manufacturer programmed the ECU/what parameters they included in that vehicle.

RE: TFT Code for ScanGauge 2 ??

Try not using the VPW protpcal and use the CAN protocol. The Allison 6 speed uses CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol and the command goes something like this, 07E2F1221940. This breaks down to 07E2 = command to the TCM, F122 = mode and 1940 = transmission PID code. The key to this is 07E2 part... and what the TCM returns to that command. I appreciate your suggestion, thank you! I tried the 07E2 with and without the added 01 on the end, no luck, was blank. Welcome any other ideas to try... :?

TFT Code for ScanGauge 2 ??

I have a new ScanGauge 2. Using the Xgauge feature I can't get a legit reading for the Tx temperature. The literature I have found offers codes with optional 01 at end if doesn't work. Also alternate TXD code, 4th digit swap 0 for the 8. However any of the code combinations I use reads either blank, or a constant 32 which can't be correct. Please suggest a correct code. What I am using is below. I have a 2007 Winnebago W24 with gas Vortec 8.1L engine, 6-speed Allison Tx, GM VPW OBDII protocol. TXD 6C18F122194001 RXF 046205190640 RXD 3008 MTH 00090005FFD8 NAME TFT Appreciate your help, thank you...

Spark Plug Confusion ??

Hi, we have a 2007 Winn with a gas 8.1L Vortec engine. I want to replace the spark plugs and wires. According to the manual I am to use AC Delco 41-983 plugs. Yet when I check NAPA, Advance and O'Reilly's, all 3 claim these do not fit and list others. Yet all 3 do carry them. Worse, one store lists one the fits that the other says does not, and vice versa. Further, I check the Workhorse parts site, they say should be AC 41-101, yet none of the stores say that, yet do carry them. What a mess... Should I heed the manual says and ignore the store fit claims? Should I heed the Workhorse site even though the stores disagree, and does not match the manual? Or should I heed the store's advice? Even then not sure how to pick which one? Plus do I use the gap out of the box or adjust? Any inputs would be appreciated, maybe they do this so we won't try to change them ourselves, argh... :h

Signature ??

It's not a big deal but no matter what I do I can't get my signature to be included in my posts. I check to automatically add, I check to add, nothing works. I must be missing something.... or it doesn't work :S

RE: Replacement RV Slide Out Topper

I ended up ordering from RV Awnings Mart. They carry 16 mil material, standard 48" width. They only sell 3 lengths so I just ordered longer than I need and will cut prior to installation. Thanks to Doug above I am no longer concerned about winding up the extra 20" width. Always fixing something, Happy Camping! ;)

Replacement RV Slide Out Topper

We need to replace two white A&E slide out toppers on our 2007 MH. Both slides extend 29". One supplier custom cuts both width and length for $350. Another custom cuts only width and length is standard 49" for $190. Same material for both. The $160 lower cost is attractive but I am not confident about winding up the extra 20" on the roller (49-29=20). Has anyone done this? Does it work okay? What suppliers do you recommend? Many Thanks....

Battery Light ??

Hi, we have a 2007 Winn Voyage, 8.1L gas engine on Workhorse chassis. On a recent trip while driving the Battery light came on the dash with alarm tone for about 5 seconds and then went off. It did it again a few days later, 5 seconds on then off. We replaced the alternator about 1 year ago so it is still relatively new. Both battery voltage 12.5 and alternator voltage 14.5 seem fine. I checked alternator and battery connections, all are tight, no corrosion. Any suggestions what to check further? If it is trying to tell me something so far I don't know what it is.... The unknown alarm is unsettling. Thanks

Bolts to Replace Retractable Steps

Hi, a weld has broken on my retractable steps and I need to replace. The steps appear to be attached to the MH frame with 4 large bolts. The heads of the bolts are underneath the 1st step tread of the MH. The nuts are on the bottom. I try to pry the step tread up to reveal the bolts but it is glued down. Has anyone had to do this? I am hoping that the bolts were welded in place so I don't have to access the heads. Any help would be appreciated. We have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J, 8.1L gas engine Thanks

RE: A&E Weather Pro Awning Replacement

Question the fabric or the rest of it? And that is all I have to add to this thread....just the fabric. I contacted ShadePro as suggested above. They did an excellent job, provided an exact fit replacement.

No Good Sam Gas Discount

On a recent trip for some reason despite entering my Good Sam card multiple times I did not receive my 5 cent discount for my RV fill up at a Flying J gas station. A few days later I tried again at another Flying J location and I received the discount as usual. Is this discount only at participating locations? I thought it was everywhere. I have the receipts, they show my discount card, but no savings. What should I do?: Send copies of receipts to Good Sam? Or to Flying J? Please provide the email or US mail addresses I will need. Thank you...

How to Book Arkansas CG as a Senior Citizen?

Per the Arkansas website as out-of-state seniors (>62) we are eligible for 25% discount Mon-Thur. Does anyone know how to book the site online and reflect the discount? There is no option for birthdate or age. Site expects full payment for entire duration of our stay. Perhaps they reimburse upon arrival? There is a promo entry field but don't know what to enter. All else fails I will call...

RE: Arkansas SP $40 Dog Fee - REALLY ??

As suggested by some of the posts, I called the Arkansas State Park reservations and woman was already aware of my concern. She acknowledged that the website says there is a $40 fee per dog but is in error and is being corrected. The $40 fee per dog is supposed to just apply to cottages and lodge rooms, not campsites. Yay !!

RE: Arkansas SP $40 Dog Fee - REALLY ??

So charging a $40 fee per dog to try to address the folks who don't clean up. That's silly. What do they do with the $40, how does that help stop the problem? Here's a clever idea, instead offer a $40 reward to anyone who reports a violator, and the violator gets kicked out and banned from the park! Then suddenly you have recruited all campers to be poop police, plus incentive to do so. Hopefully that would create enough consequences to influence everyone to pick it up or else!! :)
