Where's Step Fuse?

We have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J on Workhorse chassis W24 8.1L gas engine. My Kwikee power steps aren't working on entry door. I checked power on the frame 4-pin wiring harness and there's no 12V. I have checked the manual and breakers, can't find the breaker for the steps. UPDATE: I found the breaker behind the removeable panel in the step well over the batteries. It was hiding from me !!

RE: "Single Drop"

With the COVID virus my wife cancelled all our camping reservations over the summer months. We couldn't travel during those times. So I don't know the specific camp site, but I suspect it was in the Canada area if that helps. All I could think is it was a just a single hook up, i.e. one site. But don't know why they needed to say that. I thought I was the newbie and everyone else would know. Surprised no one else had bumped into this previously, but thanks anyhow ....

RE: How to Insert Image in Post ??

Yikes, it worked, but is huge. What are the units of the size parameters to enter? What do you suggest I enter as a trial? BTW - thank you for your help....

How to Insert Image in Post ??

I have placed a photo on my OneDrive, have it shared and I have link to it. In my posting I click the image icon, paste in the link, enter no width and height, and post message. I expect to see the image in the post. Instead there's an icon and text (image). Looks like it may be a link but doesn't launch anything. How do I get an image to appear in my post?!AtG_9Kfz1J4DhndYrlJ65moSO52H?e=On5Wo4

KwiKee Step Question

My Kwikee step would not extend. I crawled up under and was checking wiring. The Winnebago harness has a pigtail with a 4-pin connector. The steps have a 4-pin connector. But they have made some modification by making a 4-pin to 4-pin harness about 6 inches long and plugging inbetween the two. All lines are pin to pin except the yellow ignition wire for the steps. It has a 1.2K power resistor and a 1N4745 zener diode with a separate ground wire attached, all under heat shrink. The solder joint has broken so it is open. Does anyone have any idea what this was or intended for? I checked the Winnebago schematics, found the 4-pin connector but no 6 inch harness is shown. See photo of the spliced in harness ?? I am following the troubleshooting steps in the owner's manual. I connect red to +12V, step moves. I connect brown to negative and step moves. But when checking the yellow ignition override it does not seem to work. Hmm, will check some more, may be a bad control module. But still wonder what the resistor and diode are for? And do I need to replace them? If so, I need specs to get the parts. I called the Winn tech support guys and they have no knowledge of this. They think it was provided with the Kwikee step. I spoke with Kwikee step, they say they didn't do it either. Oh well, one of life's mysteries !! So I have ordered the parts and will replace, someone went to a lot of trouble to insert this, it must have been for a good reason.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Workhorse specs change every 50,000 miles. The fuel filter was changed at the 50k mile service, transmission was serviced too. Thanks for the idea though....
TC&Z 07/08/20 06:05am Tech Issues

I have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J on a Workhorse W24 chassis, gas 8.1L engine, 78k miles. 3 times in past 5 years I start, I get a REDUCED ENGINE POWER warning and engine feels like running on 2 cylinders. I turn off, start again, all is fine except check engine light is on. The check engine light goes off the next time I start it. The 3rd occurrence was just recently. I bought a code reader, it shows engine codes: P1516 - throttle position sensorP2108 - throttle body control motor Has any one else had this REDUCED ENGINE POWER warning? I have researched forums. There were many fixes, fuel filter, fuseable link, ground strap, Ox sensor, mass air flow sensor and crankshaft position sensor. Surprisingly none said replaced anything associated with the throttle. If others say this is just an anomaly I will continue as-is. Otherwise I may consider replacing components just for peace of mind. I don't want to get stuck somewhere and not have reacted to the warning signs!! Thanks in advance for your feedback...

RE: Which Code Reader to Buy ?

Do all scanners have the ability to pull up historic fault codes?? Codes that have triggered a check engine light in the past but are now clear. That's my situation with my REDUCED ENGINE POWER warning. It happened last week but is now gone. Or is this historic look back a feature I must look for that some models have, but not others? Thanks

Which Code Reader to Buy ?

We have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J on a W24 frame. Three times now over a 2 year period i have gotten the REDUCED ENGINE POWER warning. Thankfully turn off and turn back on and it goes away. The check engine light is on for one ignition cycle then disappears. It is not practical for me to take MH to an auto parts store to get the codes read. So I want to buy a basic code reader to look at history and see what the fault was to give me a clue what to check. I was amazed at the range of features and prices, some hand held and some bluetooth to phone app. I don't want to monitor anything while driving, not trying to assess engine performance, but do want error codes. And I am assuming all OBD code readers plug in under Winn dash no problem, no adapter needed, right? What reader do you folks suggest I consider? Thanks in advance... Safe camping

Gas Buddy 25 cents off ??

Gas Buddy claims up to 25 cents off per gallon. Why do they say "up to"? What determines how much you do get off? And when do you get 25 cents off? Ever? Is there at least a minimum savings whenever their card is used? Since the savings are vague I am not sure whether to sign up for a GB card or not. Is it worth while? Any feedback would be appreciated.... Thanks!

Winegard Coax Cable ??

We have the classic Winegard crank up wing TV antenna (12 yr old) on our MH roof. A branch caught the cable loop as it enters the antenna head and broke it, so I need to replace it. I have pulled the rubber boot off where the coax enters the rotating base and found a blob of potting goop to keep water out. Is there a coax connector under this goop so I can replace the exterior coax? Any one know? If so I will dig it out, unscrew the connector and replace the entire exterior cable. I hope it is not just a cable pass thru to the interior. If so, then I have to crimp on new connector and splice it. I also want to replace the coax rubber boots. Are these available somewhere? Anyone's experience with this would be appreciated. Thank you
