Gas Buddy 25 cents off ??

Gas Buddy claims up to 25 cents off per gallon. Why do they say "up to"? What determines how much you do get off? And when do you get 25 cents off? Ever? Is there at least a minimum savings whenever their card is used? Since the savings are vague I am not sure whether to sign up for a GB card or not. Is it worth while? Any feedback would be appreciated.... Thanks!

Winegard Coax Cable ??

We have the classic Winegard crank up wing TV antenna (12 yr old) on our MH roof. A branch caught the cable loop as it enters the antenna head and broke it, so I need to replace it. I have pulled the rubber boot off where the coax enters the rotating base and found a blob of potting goop to keep water out. Is there a coax connector under this goop so I can replace the exterior coax? Any one know? If so I will dig it out, unscrew the connector and replace the entire exterior cable. I hope it is not just a cable pass thru to the interior. If so, then I have to crimp on new connector and splice it. I also want to replace the coax rubber boots. Are these available somewhere? Anyone's experience with this would be appreciated. Thank you

RE: Where is the Fuse/Breaker ?

There is most likely no wire run for that purpose. If you look at the 7 pin connector by opening the door - the pin just clockwise of the keyway is supposed to be the charge line. If you look at the back of the connector where the wires enter it, you will most likely find only a hole where the wire is supposed to go for that pin for the charge line. hotrodr is right, there is no wire attached to that terminal. Plus the Winn wiring schematic shows only 6 wires going to the 7pin connector. I will run a charge line with inline fuse from the battery. What a pain, wonder why they wouldn't wire the connector completely in the first place? Happy Camping !!

RE: Where is the Fuse/Breaker ?

Did you ever have power there? This is the first time I have needed to use it, so I don't know if there has ever been power there or not. I checked and there are 7 wires in the harness on back of the connector. My rear end dragged entering a parking lot and ground the tow cable in half, so suspect that's when I shorted the 12V line. I need to find the fuse to replace it. Thanks

Where is the Fuse/Breaker ?

We have a 2007 Winn Voyage 38J on Workhorse W24 chassis. With the MH engine running I have no 12V on the 7-pin trailer connector to charge my Dinghy tow car battery. I cannot find the fuse or breaker for this line. I checked the Workhorse owners manual fuse section and could not find it listed. There are several fuse blocks, which one? Does any one know which fuse it is? Or what the fuse is called in the table? What amp fuse? Also, does this 12V remain hot all the time? Or only when the engine is running? Many Thanks

Mopar Flat Tow Wiring Kit for 2018 Jeep Cherokee Wobble ??

I hope to get some clarity on whether the Mopar Flat Tow Wiring Kit is needed for our vehicle to be flat towed. Apparently it maintains power to the power steering while being towed to avoid the "death Wobble" issue. Owners brought this issue to Mopar's attention and this Flat tow wiring kit is their bandaid. I have found many contradicting bits of information. Seems Mopar always recommends but at our cost, more of a CYA move than based technical merit. (it's odd that Mopar says can be flat towed but a modification is needed to do so...) Some forums don't know so recommend anyways to be safe. Some forums say not needed, they have never experienced the problem. Some forums put Jeep in RUN while towing so power steering is powered. Some forums say yes. Some forums say the flat tow kit is necessary IF you are experiencing the wobbling. Some forums say it is solely due to issues with front suspension. We have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude w/ 2-Speed Power Transfer Unit (w/ Active Drive II) Curious if others with same year Jeep have the problem. And whether you have installed the Mopar kit or not. Note that eTrailer did not mention this when I bought the brackets and brake/turn tail lights wiring kit. I have in inquiry into Roadmaster as well....

RE: Steering Wheel Lock ??

Being a Jeep (all Mopar brands) tech. There is no steering wheel lock for the Cherokee. Or any Jeep model for that matter. In fact the steering wheel lock is pretty much being phased out from a lot of manuf. Does the Jeep have "electric" steering? Or conventional power steering?

RE: Steering Wheel Lock ??

Best thing to do is get your hands on a real owners manual and read what it says about "recreational towing". It will give you step by step instructions on what to do to two 4 down including the steering lock situation. Don't know for sure but that Jeep might be push button start and you do have to follow directions. As suggested above I have reviewed the actual vehicle owners manual. Therein it says "Must use the proper Mopar wiring kit to power the steering system during recreational towing may damage the vehicle's steering system" Does anyone have any knowledge of this. I bought my wiring kit from eTrailer and it was just the standard diode kit. What's the basis for powering the steering system? Thanks

Best 6-Pin Location in Fascia ??

We are replacing our dinghy tow car with a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. I will be installing the tow electrical with a 6-pin connector in the fascia somewhere, somehow. For those who have already done this, where and how is best to attach the connector? Welcome your inputs! Stay safe, stay healthy, Thanks !

Steering Wheel Lock ??

We are replacing our dinghy and are considering a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus with the required 2-speed power unit. I am researching all aspects of towing it behind the MH. I have confirmed bracket is available, and tow wiring. I have read the Cherokee owner's manual on line, instructions how to place it into neutral, can't use the Auto Parking Brake feature when in Park, and then turn OFF ignition. So if OFF there is no need to charge the battery while towing, right ?? My question: does this car have a steering wheel lock that I must address as well ?? Our current tow car is a Liberty, we have to turn the key one notch to the unlock position. Perhaps this wheel lock is no longer a security feature. Taking advantage of the stay in place COVID down time to make this dinghy swap and install equipment. Any feedback is appreciated... BTW - I contacted Good Sam and they extended my membership 2 months free due to the COVID no camping period.

Jeeps >2012 Flat Towed?

We are looking to replace our 1997 Jeep Wrangler as a flat-towed vehicle behind out motor home. Our auto mechanic advised NOT to get any Jeep product 2012 or newer. They claim that they have several customers who have these vehicles and every time they tow they have to come into their shop to get the vehicle's computer "re-calibrated". Apparently the computer senses moving yet no engine and it garbles all the settings. Has anyone experienced this? We want to replace our flat-tow and don't know whether to stay away from >2012 Jeeps or not. Please reply with specific details. Many Thanks as always....

RE: Best Used Hybrid to Tow 4-Down 4-Door ??

Suggest you check your information about a Honda CRV Hybrid being towable 4 down. Page 462 of the 2020 Honda CRV Hybrid Owners Manual states: Towing Your Vehicle Your vehicle is not designed to be towed behind a motor home. If your vehicle needs to be towed in an emergency, refer to the emergency towing information. No worries, I will check whatever suggestions carefully. In a post on RV.net the person may have been mistaken but they claimed a 14 CRV was suitable. Thanks though....

Best Used Hybrid to Tow 4-Down 4-Door ??

I have searched and found several posts about hybrid towables 4-down. We have towed a '97 Jeep Wrangler for 12 yrs and need to replace it. Wife wants to get a used 4-door Wrangler. I would like to get a used hybrid if possible. So far I have found CRV, CMax, Esacape, Mariner, Fusion and MKZ. What is best 4-door hybrid towable for me to investigate further? Thank you
