RE: Side windows are fogged up

The Bounder that was gifted to me sat for a long time in a storage lot. The insides of the double pane windows on both driver and passenger side has what looks to be like alkaline stains. It is hard to see out of, even worse when the sun is in your mirror. I was thinking maybe just have both sides pulled and replaced. That is what I am doing. But since i don't go out in real cold weather I might go with the single thicker pane. Fortunately there is auto glass shop here with this experience and a tech manager that has been very helpful. I am going with the voice of experience, so won't do this on my own.

Hearing problem need wireless mic and ear piece

I am sure NONE of you older gents identify with this...LOL. In my motorhome or car, the decible reading is about 60 to 70 and i CANNOT understand my partner sitting 5 feet away. I have seen this device on motorcycle couples who talk to each other-a mic and earpiece. Anybody else got it or need it ? LOL! What is it and where do i get it? Yes i wear hearing aids which only amplify the road and wind noise. Please save my relationship with my sweetie before she runs off with some younger dude in a diesel pusher with a National Parks Pass! :)

RE: Side windows are fogged up

Can I remove 1 of the glass panes and just have one? I do not go out in cold weather.

Side windows are fogged up

Hi all. I have a 2008 Georgetown Class A and the drivers side and the passenger side windows have fogged up to the point to where it is difficult and dangerous to see out the side mirrors. I was originally told it was the tint on the windows that went bad. My RV tech says it is the inside of the windows between the double panes. The replacement is $1400 for the 2 sides (4 windows). Any explanation or other ideas? Is it the tint or the panes?

RE: Slide moving out

OK... This is real crazy and does point to hydraulics. I was using the automatic levelers and as it was leveling itself, the main slide started moving out from closed position. Does an RV guy fix this hydraulic problem or go to a truck repair shop?

RE: Slide moving out

I have it in indoor storage and plugged in to keep the refrigerator running and the batteries charged. I have looked for a slide lock but can't see one. From what I see, it moves out about 4-6 inches a day while parked. I will see if it moves with house batteries on disconnect. 2008 Forest River Georgetown 357

Slide moving out

Recently my bedroom slide has been moving out while the motorhome is parked in storage. I am checking it every day now and finding it has moved out all the way or maybe 6 inches or so. This is crazy! Any ideas what causes it or what to do? Will it move out while the vehicle is in motion? That thought is scary.

RE: Camera monitor/ cd/ radio quit working.

Yes, It was several fuses. All is operational now and even the generator stays on!

Camera monitor/ cd/ radio quit working.

I have a 2008 Forest River Georgetown Class A. The camera monitor located on the dash attached to the CD player is no longer working. Radio/cd quit too. I can't tell if it is a fuse. I have checked a bunch of fuses under the driver side dash but they seem to be OK. Is the monitor/cd player shot or is it something fixable. If i need to replace, where do i find a replacement other than Forest River for a 12 year old unit.

RE: Fuel economy and additives

I did find an engine manual and ACTUALLY read it. The computer in the engine is basically tuned for unleaded 87. It will automatically adjust, so I won't put good money or unleaded real gas in there if it will not help. Boy....not like the old days. Computers are taking care of alot. I have some miles to do this summer so will keep track of mileage and gas used.

RE: Fuel economy and additives

So now i am trying to chase down a owners manual for a 2008 Triton V10. All Google does is route me to their highest paying advertisers or send me to some site that wants me to download their softwre on my PC....year. right...like i will do that. I do need a PDF of a 2008 Triton engine if some some can send me a link without installing porn or some other cookie on my PC...LOL!

RE: Fuel economy and additives

WOW. an RV full of info. would moving up the octane to 89 help or would that just add more cost for 50 gal. I am using 87.

Fuel economy and additives

I drive a Forest River Georgetown w 4 slides an a V10 Triton gs engine. Typically i drive 62-65 mph on the hwy. I will be doing a gas log of my fuel economy, but I think it is 7.5 mpg fully loaded. I do use regular unleaded gas ($2.25 per gal in Tulsa area now). Questions: 1. Do fuel additives work and which ones do and don't. Fillups are around 50 gallons on a 75 gal tank. 2. Is going to 100% gas (no ethanol) cost effective?. 3. My Class A is 2008 (11 years old) with 53,000 miles. Is it time for a tune up and what gets tuned up? Spark plugs, injectors, wires? I am not a mechanic and am only guessing. What works and what doesn't? The Bluegrass Boy.

RE: Any experience renting out your motorhome?

We rent out our class A when we are not using it. Outdoorsy charges the renter extra for the insurance, and it is full coverage. They also screen the renter. We want it to cover our expenses and depreciation. So far so good.We have not had any problems except for thing going wrong in the RV, but nothing major.

Outdoorsy Insurance

Does anyone have any experience at all with Outdoorsy and their insurance? We have an 11 year old Class A that is in pretty good condition, and we want to rent it out to select individuals thru Outdoorsy who provide all the insurance and roadside assistance. We are using it ourselves a few times this year and have 4 rentals scheduled.
