RE: Cleaning the carpet?

I use a garden sprayer with a little bit of Simple Green. Spray, scrub with a soft brush and vacuum with a shop vac. Rinse with clean water and vacuum again. Done.

RE: Verizon cell signal lost at night

Cell phones are weird. I have 4 bars in the front of my house. 20 feet down the hall: nothing. Call Verizon. they will probably say they can't explain it.

RE: First time out problems

Chocks, not chalk. Emergency BRAKE and parking BRAKE are the same thing, get the brakes checked. You may have frozen cable or all of the brake are worn. You don't want to mess around with weak brakes. No power, a trip to the mechanic is in order. Your rig is 24 years old, who knows what else is about to fail. Have you installed new hoses and belts, oil change and transmission service. A neglected house means a neglected drive train.

12 V cooler

I have a 12V cooler I carry in the cab while traveling to keep drinks and snacks cold. The owners manual says it draw 6 amps. Also when sightseeing we take the cooler with lunch. My question is, when stopped for an extended time, maybe a museum stop, how long will I be able to leave the cooler plugged in and how much will the battery drain, before the truck won't start? I'm a dummy when it comes to electricity.

RE: STL > SD > WY Route

No one will enjoy the trip. Way to ambitious. 250 to 300 mile days will be more than enough with the little ones. Even 300 miles will turn into an 8 hour day with rest stops, eat on the roll, doggy breaks.

RE: Cast Iron pan seasoning Question

Grandma taught me long ago: hot pan, hot oil, food won't stick. Get the pan hot but not smoking, add the oil or butter. Get the oil hot, add food.

RE: Towing 2020 Chevy Colorado

Follow the advice in the owners manual. That's what it's in the glove box for.

RE: Truck flooded

Don't clean or move the truck before the inspection. It's probably totaled if water got into the computers.

RE: travel trailer towing difficulty

If you can back a 19' TT you won't have any problem with a 26'.

RE: Cracking up

Remove all the trim around the windshield and windows, also the dome light The headliner should come down easily. Repair and cover with headliner fabric and re-install.

RE: Tire choice

It's a truck! With 80 PSI of course it will ride rough. Lower your air pressure.when not towing. Stick with the Michelins.

RE: Ripping up carpet, replace with vinyl, fuel pump hatch.

How many fuel pumps have you had replaced? I lost count. You have a electrical problem, all of those pumps you replaced can't all be bad.
