RE: Anybody else have trouble packing for camping

I can make two trips to RV and be loaded, my wife however has at least 15 bags of stuff, a closet full of clothes that has to be different from what she took last time, 10 pairs of shoes, and several bags full of stuff for the dogs. If I didn't take her I could be on the road in an hour, otherwise it takes at least a week and a couple of 20 hour last days to get it all in and ready for three months out. I hate getting ready to go! Almost forgot, the last week also includes the dog grooming, dog shots and meds, hair cuts and pedicures for us and trip to bank for laundry quarters and road money. The last week is never ending. Did I say I hate getting ready to go!

RE: Wichita to Albuquerque suggestions

You are going to have to go way south to get on I10. I think he meant I40 at Tucumcari.x2, thumbs up on Del's also.

RE: New Tires - too many options

My rears were worn out after 23k miles and one front slipped the belts at 19k (Nexen factory tires) so I replaced all at 23k with the Sailuns, figure if they are good enough for the trailer they are good enough for the truck.

RE: Colorado campground for next summer

There are numerous RV parks around South Fork CO, a little further South than you are thinking but still cool and around 8500 feet.

RE: Trailer Brake issues.....

Narrow it down to which axle, then to which side. At that point pull wheel and look for chafed wires going to the magnet. Almost every time I've seen this it ends up being the magnet wires rubbing against the actuator lever inside the drum. Of course this assumes that you have drum brakes!

RE: 12 volt diming light switch

Should be a name and part # on the back of switch, google it and you should find it or a replacement.

RE: Locks on Propane tanks?

Propane Compartment doors are NOT suppose to be locked (easy access to service valves if needed)Just about every fifth wheel has propane in the lockable front compartment or lockable side compartments. I see no reason for public access.Neither of our two fifth wheels or two others I'm familiar with have locking doors for the propane access. X2 Every 5er I have owned or looked at didn’t have locks on the propane access doors.x3, NO locks!

RE: Batteries stopped charging

WARNING: do be aware that it is essential that the solar charge controller be attached to the battery at all times when the solar panels are attached. That is, disconnect the solar panels BEFORE disconnecting the battery, and reconnections the battery BEFORE connecting the solar panels. Charge controllers cannot be attached to the panels without a battery lest the controller be damaged.Hummm, I unhook my fuse from controller to batteries to kill the solar input whenever I am on shore power, been doing that for years without issue, otherwise solar kicks on every morning and overcharges the batteries which are already up and in float mode. Maybe I've just been lucky. If inverter/charger is not charging would check fuses on inverter first.

RE: Awning trouble.. Please help!

Find the connector to the motor, should be on the arm close to the roller under a cover, unplug it and plug it back in, could just be a bad connection. Had that happen on mine once and that fixed it.

RE: Snowbird Report Card

we were told by some that this winter in SW AZ was the coldest since 1993. Don't know if that is true or not but it was colder than the previous 3 years there. Still a lot better than being at home!

Anyone using Sailuns

on their dually? 235/80/17 figured if they were good enough for a trailer they must be good for the tow vehicle. Any real life experience?
