RE: Missing couple camping on Padre Island confirmed dead

As of 13 hrs ago, the person is a 'suspect'. No murder charges have been filed; let's not make a 'rush to judgement'; may be guilty, may not. It may be a case of a guy and gal who were fine upstanding pillars of society who were strolling down the beach when they came upon an abandoned truck and TT, so they decided to take it on a vacation trip to Mexico. Walks like a Duck? "Williams has two pending cases and three arrest warrants issued from the Logan District Court. In August, Williams was charged with multiple felony assaults along with several misdemeanor charges. He was released on $9,600 bail with a promise to appear. On Sept. 16, new charges emerged against Williams both first-degree felonies; and a second degree felony. An affidavit for an arrest warrant said Williams had met the alleged victim previously through Tinder. "

RE: What is a 6.0L Chevy engine

It may be a great engine but just don't try towing up a hill. It creeps towing my 7500 lbs. but I don't like to run at 4000 rpm! Creeping up a hill is nobody's fault but your own. A 6.0 is designed to run at 4000 rpm when pulling a load up a hill, and if you drive it right you would not be creeping at all with only 7500 lbs behind the truck.

RE: Ripped off at Chevron

I am going to launch a complaint with the chevron head office. Maybe the CEO of Chevron will go scold the guy over $24.00? Good Luck :B

RE: Elon tease -- Tesla pick will look like military vehicle So you have an Amish guy with flip up sunglasses sitting on the running board. He apparently lost his hat and is wearing blue suede shoes. He is being eyeballed by guy with a Ram, who is picking his nose? On the other side is a 4'10" tall woman with size 15 gunboat feet, taking a picture with a Kodak disposable camera.

RE: What is a 6.0L Chevy engine

One small issue you might have in an early 2000's 6.0 is valve ticking when it is cold. Mine would have a clicking sound when started, but would stop once it warmed a little (within 60-90 seconds) Valve ticking? Or the GM Gen 3 piston slaparoo when cold?

Let us know when your crystal ball is 100%, or maybe you’ll be too busy enjoying spending your market speculation spoils. :D Ok.

RE: When will the 2020 Ford Super Duty show up?

Something has to be going on with economy as I am trying to get info on 2020 Sprinter vans and dealers still have no clue what is going to be offered. Dealers usually have no clue what is offered after a vehicle has been in production for 3 years or longer :B The economy? It's called a recession and it started over a year ago. It's all being swept under the rug as it's too close to the 2020 election cycle, and no matter what happens as far as what party wins, loses, or gains, right after those elections are over the rug will be removed. Just look at the downturn in RV sales, boats, and other recreational big ticket items. The RV downturn started a year ago last June. We never went more than 10 years without a recession, and it's been going on 11. History repeats itself. Here's another tell tale sign of what I am seeing around our area. Its all interconnected. LINK Bend over and grab your ankles. We're on borrowed time. The sky is falling LOL ;)

RE: Only in the RV industry!

What's amazing to me is there is a product crappier then Furrion. Yea, that did take some hard work to pull off. What would be great is if they both contracted with the same Chinese contract manufacturer to design, engineer, and build them.

Ford reaches tentative UAW contract.

Who would of thunk? How would you like to get a $9000 ratification bonus on top of your raise along with no healthcare cost increases or changes in coverage? And $3500 if you're a temp? Anyone wanna bet the price of that $74000.00 F350 is soon to be $79,000.00? :B

I doubt it will be trained for fighting. But, we don't know the breed of dog. A Pitbull is a different story. They say a boxer mix, I say some pit in the mix. Looks like a great dog, she don't look like much of a fighter.

RE: Buyer Beware: Reserve America / Active Advantage

Fair enough. I do wonder what happens if the pop-up is actually blocked. Hopefully the OP was able to obtain a full refund without too much trouble. When you get right down to it they're doing you a favor and looking out for your well being by signing you up, maybe not so much your wallets well being? It's touted as "Designed to support and encourage active lifestyles". I guess that means no more sitting around guzzling beer. :B

RE: Buyer Beware: Reserve America / Active Advantage

Deceptive? Maybe, maybe not. This is on the Florida DEP website under Florida state park reservation information. You have to click on policies from this siteand it takes you right there. I guess folks just click, click, click, without reading rules, policies, or other info when making reservations? It's not in what could be considered fine print. and if there is a fee involved the fee needs to be right next to the opt in button. If this is one of those promotional mailers that you need to opt out then it is deceptive. The explanation should also include the eventual fee. Where is it? When on the final page where you enter your CC info and click on "complete this purchase", then the popup appears, which explains the terms (30 day trial, then billed $89), and gives you the option to accept or decline before making a final click to confirm the ressie. It spells it all out. I remember seeing it when making reservations late 2017. What I can't remember is if you have to uncheck a box, or check a box, as it's been over a year since we made Florida reservations. I am certainly not going to make a reservation to find out. It's all spelled out in that popup. I guess folks just check or uncheck boxes without reading. The bottom line is you should read everything before clicking buttons.

timac DID say that the $400 does NOT include internet access. Yes he did, my bad. It's really of no concern. I'm :h why I even jumped into this miscellaneous foolishness and pile of Bovine dung. Especially so after going back and reading some of his other zingers on the subject. :S :B

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I wonder how most cable providers provide both television and internet and get away charging for both? Perhaps you should look into those businesses and how they interact. Want the short answer? Because you won't be streaming most providers /channels unless you pay someone. Start adding up all the subscription costs. Netflix / Prime / _______ /_______ etc. Those fees are not going away no matter how it gets to you. Now its different if you want to watch nothing but internet baloney, Youtube, and in your case the Fantasy channel. The reason cable companies are still providing both is many over 40 years of age have not gone full streaming and many don't understand how it works, I have 2 brothers that are still stuck in the cable world even though they have internet at there house. You don't need cable to get 95 percent of the programs on streaming anymore, that to is going away, you need to check out Roku box and learn something. Cable/satellite TV service has few folks signed up under 30 years of age, streaming growing by the thousands daily. As to cost for streaming it is far cheaper if you know how it works and don't add extra channels that you don't need, many are free. My total household and RV streaming is around $400 a year for thousands of programs, movies, sports, news, etc, 10 times the content than cable/satellite and many programs are commercial free. My monthly internet is not included in the above cost because I need internet for my business so I might as well go ahead and stream down all my TV programs/movies for cheap while I have internet anyways. The younger generation including my 2 daughters in there mid 20's already sees the savings and better content for cheap since they all have internet and don't see why the slow older generation is paying $100 a month for a few junk channels loaded with commercials.. :C It might be all new to you but I have had Roku for about 10 years, and every part of the country is not exactly like your neighborhood in terms of what is or will be available for internet access. BTW you need that access to stream anything. Its great Starlink will provide that service to the entire surface of the Earth. What remains to be seen is what that access is going to cost the typical subscriber and what bandwidth limits will be imposed, because their will be limits. It matters not how you're getting the content, you're still paying for it. I would like to know where you're getting your high speed bandwidth to stream as much as you claim? $400 a year? You're getting that bandwidth for $33.33 per month? What a load of BS. Thank you for educating us all how this stuff all works. :S

RE: Orange County Calif., Loses Another Large Storage Lot

If I owned a storage lot and could sell it for a huge windfall to be used for another purpose, I would in an instant. A ground level storage facility is typically a lousy use of land from a financial standpoint, more so in an area where land values are high.

RE: TT for full time living or negatives of trailer brands

Congrats on your marriage! Now I will directly talk about the travel trailer brands you should choose and avoid. First, avoid these TT brands, I found a very nice stat regarding what other RV'ers are avoiding. 1. Forest River travel trailer brand: 45% 2. Keystone travel trailer brand: 26% 3. Jayco travel trailer brand: 15% 4. Coachmen travel trailer brand: 5% 5. Winnebago travel trailer brand: 3% 6. Fleetwood travel trailer brand: 2% 7. Gulf Stream travel trailer brand: 1% The survey detail is here along with lots of key reasons to avoid these brands. Travel Trailer brands to avoid Now, I'm giving my list of top travel trailer brands you should stick with. 1. Airstream Travel Trailer 2. Dutchmen Travel Trailer 3. Olivier Travel Trailer 4. Starcraft Travel Trailer 5. Lance Travel Trailer It might be a very nice stat but also a bogus stat. The #2 brand to stick with also happens to be managed under the #2 brand to avoid. The #4 brand to avoid is a sub brand of the #1 brand to avoid. A Dutchmen product is not even close to being in the same league as an Airstream or Oliver, an Oliver has completely different construction than anything else listed, including Airstream. Going by what to avoid, avoid about 90% of everything available. Which may be a good idea regardless :B The author has vast experience. He must have taken the crash course lol. He spent significant time during the last 5 years conquering beautiful pristine lands LOL. WTH does that even mean? Furthermore he does not hit on the fact that most of the long time brands he mentions went belly up @ 08 and were snatched up by either Forest River or Thor Industries which between the two hold over 80% market share. He must have done his research looking at other bloggers. Of course you have more complaints towards the brands with the majority of market presence. All RVs will leak eventually if not maintained.
