RE: Be careful out there. There are some bad people

That’s terrible although less about RVs and more about society. Same chances that happens in your home, hotel room or a rest area in Nebraska My question is if the RV had not been seen going into Mexico would Propaganda network turn it into nationwide headline news? Maybe not. But then again the other PROPAGANDA networks make it headline nationwide news and conveniently leave the small trivial snippet about the RV being seen going into Mexico out of their articles. Your point is?

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

Musk is a modern day PT Barnum and lots of folks follow everything he says without question.. Elon is putting rockets in space for about half what NASA does and the rockets return back to earth to be reused.. Elon is also not the only company putting multiple satellites in space to beam down internet, everyone needs internet and since you pay for internet that everyone needs nowadays might as well stream all your programs and movies while you have internet. No need to pay a $100 a month for junk channels on cable/satellite TV service since you are paying for internet.. 17 months and 8 days... I wonder how most cable providers provide both television and internet and get away charging for both? Perhaps you should look into those businesses and how they interact. Want the short answer? Because you won't be streaming most providers /channels unless you pay someone. Start adding up all the subscription costs. Netflix / Prime / _______ /_______ etc. Those fees are not going away no matter how it gets to you. Now its different if you want to watch nothing but internet baloney, Youtube, and in your case the Fantasy channel.

RE: Dog Attack

3). I wish there would be a National law that if a dog is taken out (for any reason) it should be muzzled. Seriously? :S Look up the number of dog related deaths and injuries compared to the number of vehicular related deaths and injuries per year. What other laws are needed?

RE: Lost all locals on my SD DTV yesterday.

Where'd you go? Probably out in search of 8 track and VHS tapes :B I don't understand the fascination with SD anyway. In the near future everything will be HD.

RE: What is this?

Thats a Maxx air fan and those are the factory mounting tabs for a cover. They are for THIS specific cover. https://i.imgur.com/Gvvw2vgl.jpg Here is the kicker. If they did not get sealant under those tabs when the fan was installed they can leak. If you look you'll notice that they are open inside the tab to the underside of the mounting flange. What you'll also find is that due to the sidewall being so thick on that specific fan, the brackets provided with other brands of covers, and even some of Maxxairs like the Maxxair 2 will be too long if trying to mount them per the instructions with screws into the opening sidewall.

RE: Jensen JWM9A sound system speaker issue

The intermittent problem you describe, IMO, would suggest a bad wiring connection. Or it might suggest bad voice coils in the high end audiophile grade speakers used in an RV. You know, the ones the manufacturer pays about $5 each for.

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

I don't know why Timmac believes DirecTV or DISH killed his dog but it's time to get over it! Where is there information about a dog being killed? I don't know if there is any info about his dog being killed but it sure looks like Timmac has killed a couple of horses with a stick LOL. :B

RE: RVs and California's Planned Power Outages

Also, it is State Law that trees are trimmed a minimum of 18" from electric lines. That's a stupid law, only in California could they have something that. Here they clear cut the entire right of way easement back to a vertical line, at whatever the edge of the easement is. It's a heck of a lot further than a foot and a half. You can have an 80' white pine on your property with half of it in the easement, and they'll trim the entire one side of it off to a nice plumb straight vertical plane so fast your head will spin. https://i.imgur.com/UQ5IrQAl.jpg

RE: H L quality?

Never heard of them or seen one. Looking at the website they look no different than anyone else's offerings such as one of Forest River or Thor companies. Lots of 1/8 vinyl faced luan for wall surfaces and vinyl wrapped MDF trim.Pleather upholstery. The same cheap furniture, appliances and electonics used by everyone else. Lots of Lippert components. Made in Elkhart Indiana. Whats different? Is there something you have heard that they are somehow better quality or workmanship than the competition?

RE: Starlink supposedly will be available in 2020

If we fast forward 17 months, do you promise to stop posting this BS when satellite TV is still available? We can only hope! Sure I will.. But did you read my fine print clause that extends cable/satellite TV service a extra 6 months due to unseen forecast.. :p Unseen Forecast = https://i.imgur.com/zMcaOexl.jpg

RE: Sewer drain is lower than the dump drain.

length as needed of plastic rain gutter. Place a slinky bridge and/or rocks under as necessary. 10 foot section, cut to make a 6 foot or a 4 foot. carry both, one or the other will usually work. May need velcro straps to hold slinky in place. That still does not overcome plumbers rule #1 if point A is higher than point B. S##t runs downhill.

RE: Hyundai's new hydrogen truck

So in the article, Globally, it's a different story, since fossil-fuel Hyundai semi-tractors are sold in more than 100 countries, and the company's zero-emission truck future is starting outside the U.S. as well. Hyundai will also deliver the first of 1600 hydrogen-powered semi-tractors to companies in Switzerland later this year. While the powertrain in these trucks is zero emission, the look is a more standard cab-over design based on Hyundai's XCient truck. Should be interesting when they hit Switzerland . Zero emisions? In your dreams. Hydrogen is made mostly from fosil fuels. Look up how much it costs to make hydrogen and what infrastructure it needs to fuel these things. EV are cheaper and better Hydrogen is made from electrolysis, splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using the same electricity you would use to charge the EV. We have not looked at Hyundai much but we will, we're already about 100% decided on Nikola trucks someday being in our yard and are on their list. A Nikola fuel station supposedly will also have its own onsite solar farm, but still require connection to the same grid that an EV charging station requires. I suspect the Hyundai and others will propose some sort of similar arrangement but at some point it will not be brand specific. Any argument about fossil fuel is a moot point. You're going to have electricity generated by burning natural gas for at least the next 50 years or they would not be building all of these gas fired plants. https://i.imgur.com/4vn5rONl.png Trucking is a cutthroat business all based on range and weight. If you were not two cents cheaper per mile than the next guy that load behind you would not be there and that's all the shipper cares about. The Nikola will have more range and way less weight due to less batteries required than a Tesla or any other battery based truck, and I assume the Hyundai will be the same. The more your tractor weighs, the less your able to haul, its 2nd grade math based on subtracting everything from 80K lbs. Everyone on this board will be long in the dirt before seeing diesel trucks not on the road regardless. Where do you come up with the battery based EV is better and cheaper?

It will be interesting to see what this brings to the table. You might be able to buy a LeRam and be able to whip up a quiche or batch of fries in the glovebox, or fry a crepe on the touchscreen. bon appétit

RE: What happened to

My god, the things people will argue about. My god, the people who can't see the humor in something. Oh I see the humor in some of these (I like the woody idea eg). I also see people passionate about things that don't matter. I have concluded that theres a significant fraction of the species that live to make others as miserable as they are themselves. And most of them inhabit the Inturweb. https://i2.wp.com/knuckledraggin.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/72627067_398050457526625_4548686832539271168_n.jpg?zoom=1.5625&resize=640%2C653 Reading back through the thread, I am having a hard time finding anything I would consider an argument. If you want an argument go read one of the truck threads, a Tesla thread, or the new one about EZ lube. If something such as this makes a person as miserable as possible, I would argue they were as miserable as possible before they ever read it, and perhaps they should avoid the inturweb entirely.

RE: Trouble with California

But thanks, I always welcome someone from the east coast "educating me" on my home state and what is important here on the west coast. :R Don't mention it. Hopefully you're far from the fires and have not had your power shut off. Maybe you all could use some education from the East coast.

RE: Hyundai's new hydrogen truck

And Tesla with 75,000 lbs load. Tesla test with 75,000 lbs load 75,000 lb load? Read the embedded CHP Facebook post in the article. "According to the driver the truck is operating at approximately 75,000 lbs" Operating at 75,000 lbs (Which is also legal) is a lot different than hauling 75,000 lbs (which is not without permits and some more axles). The concrete is inside the cranium of the author who did the cocktail napkin math. And your point is? The point is the article is wrong, like lots of things on the internet.
