RE: How many of you own an EV?

So, anyone wonder how EV disaster recovery vehicles (ie electric company, tree removal companies etc) will be able to support areas where there is no power? Mike

RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

Good lord. When will it stop? That is a rhetorical question because the answer is NEVER. 4 times a year for an RV. Really? It matters not that it's a five minute or 50 minute inspection, Im sure you guys will be charged an arm and a leg, and every three months for an RV is noting more than pure harassment as PButler says. Guys - you better be careful on what you say on this thread. I posted gas price difference between California and Georgia. And stated in all honesty I was sorry for y'all out in Cali. Thread didn't last long. Mike

RE: My Coach Net experience tonight.

I only had one experience and it was a good one. My tow vehicle (Ram 2500) water pump froze up and ripped the serpentine belt. Stuck in the absolute middle of nowhere and 60+ miles from home, in the rain. I knew where I was (since I drove through there often) but it was hard to describe to operator. She literally was able to find me based on landmarks and "I think I passed road named something about 5 miles back). They called tow truck, and also called me back after a period of time to verify if they were there or not. They hadn't showed up yet so she called again, called me back and said they were about 10 mins out. Sure enough, 10 mins or so later they showed up. Put my truck on the flat bed, hooked my RV to their ball hitch and away we went. Truck driver backed my RV into the driveway for me, and then unloaded the truck from flatbed. CN said they would tow to nearest dealer, which was in my home town, so they covered towing me home. Worked out great then. Not sure how it would work out now though, since I have a fiver. Unfortunately, with services like this, for every positive story, there's an equal number of negatives. Sorry your experience was the ying to my yang. Mike

RE: How many of you own an EV?

I gather from another thread that OP has sold his RV and moved on. I'm sure someone else will step up to perpetuate the EV panic. How is simply asking a question about who owns an EV akin to perpetuating a panic? Seemed a logical discussion to me given the myriad of chestpoumders that appear in various threads. Mike

RE: How many of you own an EV?

I question any car going normal speed in a neighborhood taking out that much of a brick wall. Mike

RE: Lippert six point levelling jacks

Or put two of the lego blocks in front of each wheel on the low side and drive up over them. You should be able to pull up on them unless they slide on the pavement. Then, you will be only 1 inch or so difference, and jacks will handle the rest. Mike

RE: America's first automated RV park

Good point Ken. I too believe the whole contactless future will undoubtedly have a detrimental affect on society. Hell, just look at kids these days who can't talk face to face with someone or don't like to go to a store and interface with a cashier. Due primarily to the little 4x2" rectangular device they are glued to. I also think Valhalla has a great point. Is this campground trying to leverage the whole "we are contactless" bandwagon as a gimmick to draw customers. Who knows, but it is plausable. Mike

RE: America's first automated RV park

I agree with Wapiticountry. Not sure I see the return on investment. Mike

RE: Landing gear all the way down.

It always amazes me why so many people are afraid to use things in the RV as designed. Afraid to use the retract all button because you thought it was not advisable to retract the jacks all the way? Or afraid to extend the jacks all the way? Sorry. I just don’t get it.

RE: The Future of Pricing

I do not believe we will ever see prices the way they were pre-Covid. On anything. Historically, once we, as a society, become "accustomed" to paying the new price, it never gets back to the old price. There is little to no incentive for RV dealers or manufacturers to deal the way they did pre-Covid. I can see waiting through the off season, assuming you don't camp during said "off season". We try to go somewhere at least once a month, but that's not everyone. Mike

RE: Mirrors.. no one said we needed Mirrors

65 is a precise number. Glad you had an uneventful trip and had time to actually count the numerous offenders. I agree with whoever said I have better things to do with my time. That said, I understand what you are trying to communicate and it is a good point. Mike

RE: B&W fail or Operator Error?

I have an Andersen, and I suspect over a rough road, it could jump the ball if not locked. Not likely with 3000+ pounds on the pin, but I've been on some roads where I've thought "hope I locked that hitch". Anything's possible, and eventually there will be that one... Mike

RE: FDR state park campground in Georgia

Been there twice myself. Very nice. Check out little White House while you're in the area. Lots to do for sure. You'll have a great time. Mike

RE: Attempted truck theft - I hate thieves

I don't understand this smash-and-grab technique. Assuming most vehicles are stolen for the money, who would buy one with such damage? What happens to these vehicles in such damaged condition? Likely parted out. I imagine it would be difficult to sell a stolen vehicle. Mike

RE: Booger welded some stuff on the rig today..

Love it Especially the unlimited lifetime, no questions asked, warranty. I have a couple of those warranties from "someone" who did some work as well. Only time it will expire is when he does (grin). Nice job. Mike

RE: Camping in an EV.... Always charging...

So, does one have to plan their road trip around charging stations? Is there an app that shows you where they are? I can't imagine heading out not knowing where the next charging station is, or having to actually decide my route based on charging stations availability. That alone would drive me insane. I didn't watch the video or whatever is at the link, as EV's used for camping don't interest me. But, this conversation does. Mike

RE: A Big Thank You

What I have found over the years is 1. Everyone has an opinion. Which is great, because you can still glean pertinent info from opinions. 2. Wait long enough for enough responses, and you will certainly have enough input to justify any decision you want to make. Betcha thought I was gonna say opinions are like A$$Hole$. Mike

RE: Traveling with Propane on

I know it was a joke. It's just one that annoys the heck out of me because so many people REALLY BELIEVE they cannot cut the tags off pillows, etc.It is very clear the tag must remain on for disclosure to the end user. Would have helped if it said the end user could remove. BTW mine have all been removed ;) OMG - I had no idea I could remove those tags!!! I now have a Sunday project! Thanks toedtoes and time2roll. Time to bust out the scissors. BTW - just to make it thread relevant, I tow with my fridge running and no, I don't turn it off at the pump. Mike

RE: Looking for 5 star RV Park

Is Northern Texas north enough for you? You still haven't even bothered to narrow your location. Good luck Mike
