RE: Slide Electrical Issues
Low battery voltage. If it works when plugged in the converter is putting out 12 volts to operate your motor. Check wire to battery and clean if bad.
RE: Cb anntennas
I believe you meant the case of the radio. The coax is already running to the case. Most antennas work best with a ground plane which is usually the other half of a shortened antenna. Good question but try YouTube for suggestions on antennas.
RE: Champion Generator
I bought one a year ago and had a coupon for 20% off plus it was on sale for $429. I could not pass it by. Runs great and powers everything I need. Great little generator.
RE: Adding extra batteries - where do I put them?
A small 2kw gen like a champion will cost you less than 2 more batteries. Under $500 and on sale for less than $350. That is what I did and very quiet.
RE: Adding extra batteries - where do I put them?
We need more information, to give a good reply. Are you running the fridge on gas or electric? What about the hot water heater? What type of lights bulbs are you using. Do you use a inverter to power your ac devices? What type of batteries are you using? Size 24,27, standard lead? Sounds like you have a very small solar panel that will only trickle charge your battery. Basically useless if so.
RE: Long route travel plans
Whoa my friend slow down as you said it will be different. There are things to see and do all over but timing is everything. How late are are you planning to start. What type of rig do you have? How warm do you want to be? When we first start many drive every day for many hours and never take time to smell the roses. Have that second cup in the morning before leaving. Stop by 4pm everyday and relax. No fun setting up in the dark. Most people average 50 mph while traveling. Getting there is half the fun.
RE: A/C locking up in 1984 class c
Those older AC units have oil ports on motor that need to be oiled on both sides. Take cover off and check for little oil caps on either side of the motor.
RE: Question about solar combiner box.
A combiner is just putting all three in parallel how ever you do it and it takes more wire. There are all types of connectors to hook up anyway you want. I changed to series and that allows for a smaller wire hookup to your controller. You need a higher voltage input controller and there are plenty that allow 100 volt input. MPPT is what you want and it gives better charging.
RE: Is this a bad circuit board? (fridge)
What are you asking? Is the fridge getting warm when the outside warms up? Is the side of the trailer the refer is on in the sun? Do you have a fan to keep the air moving in the back of the fridge? We need more information as to what is your problem.
RE: Solar & Inverter starting point advice
For most of all your questions you can find all the information you are looking for on You Tube. I would have you look up, Renogy is a good starter but there are many others to chose from. From a 100 watt starter package for less than $200 to a 400 watt system for around $600.
RE: NorCal Fridge wont run on AC
It will take 24 hours to get cold. How long have you waited? Is it plugged in in back? Is there 110 volts at plug? First places to check.
