RE: 2022 Bronco Raptor Debut

The regular Broncos personally look really weak to me. It reminds me of a shorted up Ford Flex which was a terrible looking vehicle. The Raptor version however does look great and apparently built to back up the looks. They will no doubt sell everyone they can build. I am seeing some of these Broncos advertised in the mid 70's which seems very crazy to me, but I would guess the Raptor version will be over 100k. It wont be cheap to look that cool. Have you seen a Sasquatch package Bronco in real life? it has a ton of presence. I quite like mine. https://i.imgur.com/9J3hUpTh.jpg

RE: Fresh fluids and four new tires

Order is changed to 3.31's, if it's even a bit better on fuel and the towing is better then my 2017, i will be happy.

RE: Fresh fluids and four new tires

^^^ Going from a 2017 to a 2022 you're going to find your doppelgänger is not really a doppelgänger. The newer Powerstroke and 10 speed is incredible .... will your '22 have the 3.31 rear gears? I ordered the 3.55 rear gears not knowing if i really needed them or not.

RE: Impact of fuel prices on travel

After 2 summers of lost camping with out two girls and my aging parents, we are going to keep our plans and go to up state NY, Vermont and Maine. If it costs me an extra 300-400$ in fuel, so be it. We lived this back in 2008-2010 with higher fuel prices and I said it then and I’ll say it now, if a few hundred dollars of fuel per trip is going to stop your ability to go RVing, then maybe you should reconsider if it makes sense at all to own or use and RV/trailer - it is after all a luxury.

RE: Extensive Traveling with a 5th Wheel

We did an average of 60 ~ nights per year with out previous KZ Durango 1500 series and it was towed approx 50000km's over 6 summers. I would consider that pretty heavy usage and it really wasn't worn out yet, we only upgraded for more room to accomodate our growing family.

RE: Drivetrain slipping?

check to make sure your tires haven't rotated on the wheels. I had this happen to me two years ago with a new set of tires and the spin on the bead, felt just like you described.

RE: Great cooling system on them there SilverAdos!

Seems like you're having a bad string of luck with this truck and dealer - hopefully thats done with and you can get back to enjoying it.

RE: 5th wheel purchase advise - Solitude or Jayco

Can't comment on the Jayco too much but i will say that Grand Designs want very good to deal with on a warranty issue with mine when i first got it and other than that bent axle that i can't blame GD for, the unit has been great, very well built and a fair bit better fit and finish than my previous KZ Durango.

RE: Calling weight police - help

you did the right thing, my truck would most likely have a similar payload to what yours would of had and with out new GD Reflection 311BHS i'm running down the road around 14500lbs and around 2800lbs on the Pin - it is extremely comfortable and a very stable setup but i also know that this is about as much as i would feel comfortable with a SRW.

RE: Seat Comfort

I can comment on my 2017 F350 Platinum as having very comfortable seats, same can be said about the wife's 2021 Expedition - both have the massaging function and during longer drives i really enjoy it. I've rented several Suburban and Yukon's over the past few years for fly in family winter vacations and I find them to be very comfortable as well but the bottom cushion length is on the short side and after a few hours i need to get out and walk around a little bit (i'm 6-2, 215 so a bigger guy). The only Ram product I've driven in for any real distance was a customers 2020 Ram 1500 Limited and i found it comparable to my F350 seat wise.

RE: 2021 Ford Bronco

Interesting performance of the Bronco trail/rock ride and that 2.7 Ecoboost grunt really shines. Link Seemed to make easy work of that trail.

RE: 2021 Ford Bronco

back on topic, I just placed an order for a 2022 4 door Bronco to take over daily driving duties from my current F350, the F350 will live in my garage and only be used to tow the fiver moving forward. It will take around 6-7 months for it to arrive I'm being told so I'll get to enjoy it next summer. It should be a fun package to drive around and use for off road use for hunting, hiking and plain old dirt road driving. I think you made a wise choice. Which model did you get? Hopefully he ordered one of the fifty race ready powered with the 5.0L Coyote. :) don't need the Coyote in that, i have a 14 GT and 17 GT350 and a Carrera S (on order) for my high speed thrills. True, but none one of those have any off-road capabilities. i have a Maverick X3 Turbo R for high speed offroading.

RE: FIRST TIME BUYER LOOKING FOR OPINION ON CERTAIN MODELS

i spent the last 6 summers with a 2015 Durango 1500 295BH and it was a very solid unit and we got plenty of use out of it (around 50-60 nights per year and it was towed around 55k km's). I feel that being a 1500 model it was not quite as solid as a 2500 would of been but never really had any issues because of it. We recently replaced it with a GD Reflections 311BHS and i have to say that I'm pleased with the construction and fit+finish as it feels like its just slightly better on all fronts. I would not hesitate to buy another KZ Durango however i do think that the Grand Designs product is slightly nicer. Alex
