RE: Slide design by Grand Design

i have to ask.you didn't notice this when you did the walkthrough? i spent well over an hour doing my walkthrough and went over everything as well as firing up the heaters and running the fridge on all settings, running the slides and awnings, leak tests on the water and propane systems, the whole nine yards.

RE: How to discourage territorial barking at home

op,have you considered trying a house leash?just snip the loop off a regular nylon leash so it won't snag on anything and when he heads for the window just step on the leash and stop him in his tracks before he gets to the window.it's hit and miss as it sounds like it could be a territory issue but it's worth trying.if he is already leash trained it won't be that difficult or confusing for him.then you can distract him with a favourite toy.it may take him a couple days to realise he isn't going for a walk but it will pass.my rottweiler had a bad habit of chewing the mail as it came throught the slot and this meathod worked for us.

RE: How to discourage territorial barking at home

instead of giving pedantic responses to my posts maybe try to help the op with a solution to his problem as you seem to think you know what works or doesn't,i'm having no problems training my dog with my meathods.you do you.i'll do me..

RE: How to discourage territorial barking at home

that's how redirection works when training.distract it with a treat and eventually they will stop.i've trained my last 3 dogs using this meathod and none have become treat dependent.my sheltie seems to be incredibly smart.when she fake pees outside she gets no treat.she is slowly stopping the charade.once you stop rewarding them the chances of them reverting back to unwanted behavior is slim.a good scratch and loads of praise to go along with the treat is also needed.we all know our dogs are eager to please their humans.

RE: How to discourage territorial barking at home

i'm in the early stages of training my 10 week old sheltie and i'm having great results using liver or chicken treats to redirect her when she starts going sideways.be it barking or leash pulling and running off.i use a chew toy when she starts to nip and jump up,which also works well.she hates other dogs but loves humans so i forsee big problems if i don't remedy it soon.i had a lab that i took too long to train and it really bit me in the butt.i think the trick for you is to redirect him.it will be un uphill battle but it will eventually work if you persist.

RE: Rip off prices from RV Dealers

before my wife retired, her company used to puchase products from Atlas, who supplies the rv industry with parts.the markup is a minimum of 100% between the wholesale/retail according to the pricing catalogue.now i have to hold my tounge every time i need to step into a dealers parts dept.because i know for a fact how much i'm being gouged.

RE: Potable Water Transportation

we used to camp in our truck camper.we used the onboard tank for shower, dishwashing, and used those refillable water cooler jugs with a pump mounted to the top.by the time we were out of water we were out of food/booze anyway.we could usually go for 6-8 days.

RE: Do I need my WD bars just to move in the driveway?

RE: giving it up

we bought a beautiful lake house in the middle of fishing country and parked the truck camper in the driveway for 2 years.we thought we were done travelling to fish.i started getting wanderlust really bad last spring.we sold the camper and ordered a new travel trailer and a couple electric powered fishing kayaks and we plan to do some serious travelling now.i guess we weren't done after all.i retired at 52 so maybe i jumped the gun a tad early when i parked the camper.when my check engine light comes on and i'm too decrepid to deal with the trailer it will still be used for a bunkhouse for the family to stay in when they all come to visit.

RE: bad luck for this family

my kind of people.unplanned trip = adventure.life's too short to play it safe all the time.we have yet to "plan" a trip in the last 20 years and we're still undeafeated.

RE: Indian Reservations

we used to do alot of back country fishing/camping up here in B.C.the indigenous bands were always blocking roads and claiming land rights to lakes and provincial parks.we found the best/easiest way was to stop in at the local band office and talk to someone with authority.sometimes we got a permit and sometimes we got a "no problem",but we always got the name of the persons we talked to just in case.

RE: Do I need my WD bars just to move in the driveway?

i use my side by side to move my 21 foot deck boat.it weighs close to 3k lbs with the trailer i'd guess.

RE: Adam Graphine ceramic coating

7 year lifespan is just a guess.the graphene coating has only been used on vehicles for a couple years, they are making their estimates from the commercial applications.i'd plan on 3-5 years if it were me.

RE: Highway Thru Hell floods 2021

fraserway rv storage yard in Abbotsford is burning out of control right now.there's no way for fire crews to get to it due to the flooded hwy.hundreds of new rvs are going to be lost.35 rows are already gone.we ordered our Cougar from them but i don't think it's in the mess.

RE: Highway Thru Hell floods 2021

2 of our sons came up to the lake house in the interior of B.C for a visit last thursday.they're still here and can't get home.one of them just missed getting caught at the hwy 1 slide and had to do a 3 hour return back to our place on sunday.at least i get to spend lots of quality time with my 4 year old granddaughter.she makes me hot tub with her every morning at 5 am.
