RE: Water Heater Help

As stated above first guess would be air in the lines. Also as stated does the stove work? After verifying the stove works start with the easy stuff like cleaning the flue and burner area. If accessible try lighting by hand. Try to observe the pilot light when someone turns on the gas side. Does the pilot light light then go out after a minute or two? If this is happening then the thermocouple is either not adjusted correctly or is bad. Good luck and be sure and check back to let us know how you made out.

RE: 50 amp shore power issue

Another possibility would be a loose wire in the power transfer switch. With the RV disconnected from power, open the power transfer box and inspect and tighten every wire connection.

RE: Extended service (Good Sam) lesson learned

No insurance is there to save you money. Some are just a little more blatant about it. I used to sell extended maintenance on large computer systems. There is no way I would ever buy an extended maintenance policy on anything.

RE: DirecTV dropping DNS

Unless they can provide an easy way to switch my locals as I travel I will probably drop them.

RE: Shoreline not working on Damon Astoria

Once you have verified that there is shore power at the plug; unplug from power and remove the cover from the Automatic Transfer Switch box. Verify non of the wires are burned up and then tighten each connection. This should be a yearly maintenance item.

RE: Don't forget this weekend

Love living in Arizona. We don't have to mess with that. Will be nice to have the west coast TV schedule coordinated with my sleep schedule though.

RE: Escape window falls out

Had the escape window from a fiver blow out while I was passing him on I5 near Dunsuir Ca. Did $16000.00 worth of damage to the side of my motorhome. Wow.. serious damage and very fortunate no one was hurt. These windows are tempered glass. His hit the side of my motorhome just at the rear edge of the entrance door and exploded into what must have been a million pieces. The side of our motorhome looked like it had been hit by a shotgun. chewed up the awning arms and metal cover for the awning also. Took almost a month to repair all the pock marks in the siding repair the awning arms and match all the different paint swirls. Amazing how much damage a three by two window can do.

RE: Funny, sad and embarrassing.....

Be glad it just melted. At least it was not made of a material that caught on fire and burned up your RV.

RE: Wrong Equipment?

Bet the steering gets a little squirrely when he goes over a bump. Back when I didn't know any better I loaded a station wagon up with concrete blocks. First corner I came to I turned but the station wagon kept going straight.

RE: KM Reosrts

If they really offered "RESORT" camping, they would not have to use such aggressive sales tactics. You were smart to avoid the free stay.

RE: Electric Slide motor doesn't seem tobe engaged

Having the same problem and have parts on order. On mine the assembly where the shaft is visible has four screws on a cover plate. I removed the four screws and found that one of the gears had broken. Just ordered a new gear for $35. Hopefully it will fit as the only other option for my system is to replace the whole assembly for roughly $700

RE: Accu Slide - Need Help Please! Does not seem right!

I did mine with the slide out then checked tension with slide in. Cycled several times then fine tune adjusted then used Locktite blue on the adjustment nuts.

RE: Keeping fridge cool in high 90s temps

Is your frig in a slide? If so you will probably have two access doors so you can remove the lower one when parked to get a little more air flow. Next if in a slide do you have a slide topper? If not get a small tarp and cover the top of the slide and slope it down to shade the side of the RV. Best your going to get short of getting a box fan and putting it so it blows into the bottom access area.

RE: Accu Slide - Need Help Please! Does not seem right!

If you are even semi handy you can adjust them yourself. When one of my cables was hanging loose I was sure it was broke so I ordered the cable and the correct tool to cut it and crimp the end on from Amazon. What actually happened on mine was the lock nuts on the adjustment posts came loose and allowed the adjustment nut to loosen up. After getting them adjusted I applied a drop of loctite blue to each nut so that wont happen again, The adjustments are outlined in the service manual. Start HERE and then after reading click on service manual.

RE: Dometic 15K A/C Blowing Warm/Hot Electric Smell?

My first guess would be the start up capacitor. A fairly easy and inexpensive fix. If you are reasonably mechanically inclined and feel comfortable getting on the roof you can change it in probably 20 minutes and, that includes the climbing time. If you decide to do this make sure you short the electrical terminals on the capacitor together before touching the capacitor as they can bite.

RE: Diesel Pusher, side vs rear mount radiator

You are correct in thinking the side radiator is more desirable however the rear radiator coaches should not be something you need to avoid as a whole. What I would recommend to avoid is a rear radiator coach where the radiator and charge air cooler are sandwiched together. I had a coach like that and all kind of debris gets between the radiator and CAC and it is almost impossible to get them clean without removing them from the coach. As long as the radiator and CAC are mounted separate from each other you will have no problem.
