RE: 12 volt receptacles shorting 12 volt accessory charge cords

I had a rear track bar put on my 2018 Bounder and it made it handle worse had it removed Really? I test drove it in some tail winds after install and thought it helped a lot. I will be installing a safe T plus steering stabilizer in the front next.

RE: 12 volt receptacles shorting 12 volt accessory charge cords

I have not heard of that in a long,,,, long...... long time (like 1970s) I used to have a plug that contained just two parts. in fact I still do. One was a 2-lead tri-color LED and the other was a resistor.. IF you plugged it into a 12 volt accessory outlet that was properly wired GREEN If you plugged it into one that was reverse wired RED If it showed yellow.. Well that outlet had AC on it not DC (never happened) This can be done with a volt meter.. I suggest a plug to binding posts for this. but you can do it without Using adapter Like this one hook meter black to black red to red and plug in read voltage +13.6 (ending running) or 12.6 (Engine off) = Good Negative voltage or 15+ volts = bad Without the adapter it's a touch tricky Black to SHELL and red to the center of the bottom of the outlet That adapter however is how I'd do it Side benefit. If you ever have to replace the plug on a 12 volt cord (just the plug not a plug/voltage converter like for your phone et-al) well this is real handy for that. Till you can get a proper crimp or solder on plug. Thanks for the input. I recently had the motorhome in a local RV shop for a rear trac bar install and had them look into this. Told me is was wired in reverse and They fixed all 3 12 volt outlets. I have not tested them yet since I had to order more 12 volt charge chords for tpms monitor, GPS, and phone charger. Will definitely order this first. Appreciate the info.

RE: F53 suspension upgrades

If you are having issues with winds (and we all do)... Al I don't. Why?

RE: F53 suspension upgrades

If you are having issues with winds (and we all do) you need a rear trac bar, as the springs/airbags will offer you minimal help here. Al X2

RE: Passenger side slide window seals

Did you look to see if you lost any weep hole covers? Thanks. I will double check.

RE: F53 suspension upgrades

2020 jayco precept 34G owner here. 2019 F53 GVWR 22,000. After six months of ownership I will be adding the super steer rear trac bar first. The coach actually handles pretty good except when confronting tail or crosswinds. Coach already has beefy Helwig sway bars both front and back from factory. Will access after install.

Passenger side slide window seals

On our return trip back to Dallas. Started hearing a loud annoying wind sound and located it coming from the passenger side slide window on our 2020 Jayco precept 34G. I taped the outside of seals with electrical tape to find it. Wondering if there any way to can fix this without taking it back to dealer which is over an hour away. Going to call Jayco direct to see if they will authorize mobile service. Any other suggestions?

RE: 12 volt receptacles shorting 12 volt accessory charge cords

take a reading off the connector. I am only reading that it shorts out what you plug into it. Will do. Thanks.

RE: 12 volt receptacles shorting 12 volt accessory charge cords

Both 12 volt charge chords for GPS and TPMS monitor will not work anymore. Also 12 volt cell phone chord keeps blowing fuses. Two separate phone chargers.

12 volt receptacles shorting 12 volt accessory charge cords

We bought a 2020 Jayco precept 34g gas motorhome with the ford f53 chassis and v10 engine. The coach has 3 12 volt dc outlets in the cockpit. So far while trying to charge GPS and TPMS monitor and not both at same time the charge cords shorted out. Also blew 12 volt cord for a sharper image seat cooler inline 6 amp fuse. Seat cooler was the only item plugged in at the time. Help!

RE: Thanks..and a Slide Question

We have had both non slide and slide TCs and will never go back to a TC with no slides. Like the extra room.

RE: 2019 Lance 1062 Price

Adventurer truck campers are the most underrated TC on the internet..IMHO they are as well built as any Lance, old or new...Those here that have had them have nothing but good to say about them,mostly.. I agree.

RE: you like Torklift StableLoads? / Upper, lower or BOTH?

I have the upper torklift stable loads on my truck last 3 years. Helped a great deal with some squat with TC on. When TC is off do not even notice them. Big fan. Looking for another bigger TC now preferably a slightly used Lance 1172 and will buy the bottom stable loads. Truck bottom spring is already pre drilled.

RE: Moisture under mattress solutions please

Thanks for some good answers folks! Put down a layer of 1/2” foam board and also ordered a queen Den-Dry... And it is definitely an issue when you find moisture under the mattress! We were volunteer camphosting in the desert and no issues there but came up to the moisture & rain in the Mother Lode to deal with some rental property issues and that’s when issues started....(We are FT in a AF 865 TC).....Again thanks for the replies!!! Yes, so far the blue foam board has work for us so far. Thanks for heads up on dry den! Looks good. Going to order it to add to foam board.

RE: Moisture under mattress solutions please

Used to use a product called Dry mesh which is cheaper version of hypervent but had troubles buying more for another TC. Honestly the best results I have had was blue foam board from Lowes. It works!
