RE: RV roof protection

I appreciate all of the responses. I recently spent close to $1000.00 having my roof recaulked as a result of sitting in the storage lot baking in the oven of So. Cal. I really wasn't looking for the merits of covering or not covering. What I was looking for is: Does anyone out there know of a manufacture that makes "Tyvek" roof cover for a 37ft. Class A. If someone doesn't want to cover their RV when it sits outside, then that is certainly up to them. Believe me I have been RV ing for over 35 years and seen my share of roof damage from the California Sun. I am disabled to the extent that a full cover is not practical for me to deal with. I was thinking just a roof cover would be something that I and another person could handle.

RV roof protection

I own a 37 ft. Forrestriver Georgetown XL Class A motorhome. It is stored outside in southern California. It gets real hot in the summer and other times. I have purchased a complete RV cover. The top rotted in less that 4 months. The cost to send it back to the manufacture at my expense by the way, was close to what I payed for it in the beginning. Anyway, I am looking just for a Tyvek roof cover. ADCO stopped making them. Does anybody know where I can get a Tyvek roof covering for my 37 ft. Class A motorhome?

RV pulling a tow through San Francisco

My bad, I knew that 5 did not go through S.F. but 101 does. I do remember going through that downtown area and yes watch your lanes. I think I will go around and avoid San Francisco. We are headed for the Sonoma County Fair grounds.

RV towing on 5 through San Francisco

My motorhome including my tow is a 60' rig. I am wondering if that is too long to go through San Francisco on State I-5? Anybody have similar experience?

Road conditions

Can anyone provide me with information regarding the abilities of a 36' Class A with a tow vehicle traveling from Visalia,Ca. via Hwy 152 to Morgan Hill,Ca.? I just want to know if there would be any elevation or grades that would challenge my rig. Again this is Hwy 152 (Pacheco Pass) in Central California.

RE: Water (rain) leak in front window upper gasket

It is pretty clear to see that it is seeping in and around the gasket to the inside of the window.

RE: Water (rain) leak in front window upper gasket

Forget the RV repairmen. Take it to a glass shop and have them reseal it. I contacted all of the auto glass repair shops that the RV dealers referred me to. They all weasled out of the job sounds like they were not very experienced at removing and reinstalling a large single front window.

Water (rain) leak in front window upper gasket

I own a 2016 Forrest River Georgetown XL. It has a no seam front window with a single gasket. The gasket has a couple of leaks over the passenger side. I applied silicone to gasket but did not stop. I have had professional RV repairmen recommend to reseal the gasket OR pull the window and reseal the gasket to the window then to the motorhome. The estimate cost for the later was $500.00. I haven't been able to confirm if they are bonded in case the window breaks. The window might cost around $3000.00 to replace. What would those that have experience and knowledge suggest. Thanks

Class A motorhomes with a Ford V10 Chassis

I am curious if there is a prevalence of Ford V10 engines with issues. For instance: throwing a cylinder rod and puncturing the engine casing. Starter motor failing and needing to be replaced.
