RE: New truck pricing

^^^^ Yup order a new 2022 GMC 3500. The 2500 is pretty much identical other than it has no overload springs and therefore can only hand about half the payload. what is the ride like in a 3500? Unloaded? Don't want to spend $80G and get beat to death while driving ;)

New truck pricing

Looking for a new truck but there's not much to choose from. I want a 3/4 ton GMC Denali or Chevy High Country 4WD with diesel. Has any one purchased a new one lately with the shortage of new ones? Has anyone ordered one? Can I expect to get anything off the MSRP? From a monetary standpoint would I be better off to order exactly what I want or take what I can find. I'm in no hurry so I could wait on the ordered one. With all the trucks sitting in Flint,MI that they can't complete due to shortages of one thing or another do you think they will eventually have to negotiate to get rid of the sitting 2021 models as the new model year approaches?

RE: Westinghouse i4500 Generator

Don't have your answer but I would like to learn more. Can you explain why you have both genny and inverter going at the same time. I would think even at altitude that the 4500w genny would be all you need. How does the inverter know when to come online? Thank you for any answers.

RE: Is Lance the “gold” standard

I know that trailers are a hot item right now and in short supply. I started looking at a Lance trailer 2 years ago. It took 2+ years to get the wife to look at them. It put me in total sticker shock!!! The same trailer I looked at 2 years ago has increased in price by $24000. That's not a typo...From $54000. to $78000 today. The Lance is a nice trailer but suddenly my trailer is looking pretty good to me. Gold??? they must think it's Rhodium.

RE: Meter

In my experience, unless you are running a "tune" your engine computer should automatically de-fuel when ET"s get excessively high. Boost and EG functions are commonly over-ridden with performance tunes, hence the need for gauges.

RE: Basic Maintenance

IMO..tires are overdue(I like 4 years). Wheel bearings need to be checked and repacked. Brakes should be fine but if need replacing it's easier just to purchase the entire backing plate and bolt it on and attach two wires. Walk the roof and check for anything that could use re-caulking or eternabond tape. That should be a good start.

RE: Towing w/out weight dist -- am I being too conservative?

If you have the tools install it yourself. There's a sticky for it on this forum. WDH not only help with weight but most help with sway. That is where I would be concerned. I'm no mechanic and set mine up without a problem. If you can't do it let the other RV mechanic do it, but I would use it. JMO

RE: Are they still making this vent cover?

Quote: My question was... are they still making this cover? Probably not.... but hole is a standard size that a new different cover should fit. Good luck and nice to see you helping her out!

RE: Puppy food suggestions

We have had good luck with Costco's Kirkland brand as well. We avoid the grain free products after reading several studies like this: Heart disease

RE: Convection oven exhaust?

Many of the new units do not have a thru wall vent. The microwave just filters the air and redistributes it inside the rv. We bought a larger conv/toaster oven and set it up outside when we camp in hot locations. Keeps all the extra heat out of the TT.

RE: tub or no tub?

For full time I can understand your "want" but the fact that you don't see them says a lot to me. Maybe splurge and get an occasional massage instead.

RE: 3500 lb. axle castle nut

Thanks Gdetrailer. Working oil trailer in remote location and hate to drag every tool in the box along to do it, but still want to make sure I have what I need. I should be good to go.
