RE: Indio, CA or Yuma, AZ Casino parking

They are parking at the "Q" in Yuma. Went to Mexico last Tuesday and there were several rigs parked there.

RE: Dollar General grocery?

There are several in the Las Vegas, NV. area. They always have the cheapest Bud Lite for the Sin City area. Here in the Yuma, AZ. there aren't any DG Grocery stores but the regular DG stores have 15 pack 12 oz. Natural Light for $7.25.

RE: Nascar Follies

Cloud, even though you and I are usually on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to FRANCECAR, I hope you are OK in Texas. There used to be good racing on super speedways until they mandated the same spoiler, same rear gear, same Penske shocks and I could go on and on. In other words "cookie cutter cars". Then 2022 with what I call a knock off lug and many other additives. Whoopee doo!

Busch Clash on the road course in a couple of hours. Can hardly wait. Sure hope it doesn't interfere with putting on the feed bag here in the West.

RE: o rings for valve extenders

ssthrd, the o-ring fits in past the threads where the extender screws and seats on the metal valve stem on the wheel. Never had a problem with balance in 17 years on our dully.
In order to pull the ring out, it usually destroys the ring and can't really size it.

RE: Missoula, MT to Columbia Falls and W Glacier

Maybe a native Flatheader will respond with the dates. It does seem like the latter part of July or beginning of August. They are to die for and don't last long. The problem with 35 is that there are cheery sales shacks on 35, they have virtually no parking, heavy traffic, so you know what this leads too. Sort of like folks doing yard sales.

RE: Anybody in Quartzsite?

Lenny K, I hate to do this to you but the devil made me do it. We ordered the Goliath. The gal that was our waitress was just great and really friendly. After we had it down to a little under half left, she kept stopping by to see if we wanted a to go box. We ended up finishing it there and we all had a good laugh. If I knew how desperate you were I would have shipped a piece to you. But wait, we went past the infamous US Post Office and the line was just tooooo long. Maybe some other time!

RE: Anybody in Quartzsite?

Not in Q but in Yuma. Four of us made our usual annual run Tuesday to the tent. We sure weren't disappointed because we figured it was going to be pretty much worthless. It has been going down hill for the last several years and this year was no exception. Got there at 8:45 AM, parked on the south side of the tent about 100' from the gate into the tent. Never had to stop to turn off US 95 to make the left turn. At 9 when the gate opened, no line nobody waiting. Even the row of portapotties had no occupancy. Walked in and they did have things spread out with one-way traffic. Quite a bit of open space that they tried to disquise. I'd say 65 to 70% of the vendors had nothing RV related. There was one LED peddler inside and he had very little. Verizon probably had the most folks at a stall. After being inside for about an hour we did the north and south side aisles next to tent. Even Thrifty ice cream wasn't there. a lot of empty square footage. Two genny peddlers outside, one was a propane fired 1000 watt unit, never heard of it, and then beside the gate was some guy trying to hustle Firmans. And there was one LED guy outside who has a place here in Yuma and had the usual "Q Show Special" prices jacked over what he charges down here. The produce dept. at the Yuma Foothills Walmart would have been busier. By 10:45 AM we had driven the north and south strip and pulled into Silly Al's for wonderful pizza. No Le Mesa or Johnson RV. A few dealers with a small number of units on the strip. Of course Paul Everts, if still trading by that name, had a bunch of units where you turn into the tent. Good food, good beer, and good friends and we took the scenic way back down thru Glamis. Looked like there was a fairly good occupancy on some of the BLM land.

Dump in town at Grizzly RV Park. I'm thinking it is $10.00 but don't remember from this past July. Plenty of room to maneuver.

RE: Removing Dicor from screw holes...

Hit it with a heat gun and then the driver and it will back right out. When a heat gun hits Dicor, it just rolls aside with whatever tool you are going to use.

agesilus, you can get your rig weighed at most any truck stop with scales anywhere across the USA. The Escapees weigh program doesn't even show on the radar! And since you frequent the SKP forum, you know I am a member.

RE: Slide seals

I have, but there are numerous different configurations of seals. Mine is a "P" seal with red 3M adhesive tape on it. The hotter the wall gets, the tighter the seal adheres. Probably the most labor intensive job was cleaning the area where the previous seal was glued. Some seals fit in a channel, then some go in a channel with "fingers" that hold the seal. Between removing the old adhesive and working off a ladder, it wasn't too bad.

RE: Generator Timer Click, click how to change

I have an Onan Marque Gold 7000 with a remote hour meter in the fiver. Whether digital or old style it is powered by 12 volt off the genny while running. If you want to change to digital, hook it up the same way. If want to put hours on the new meter, simply hook it to a 12 volt supply and let it run until the hours show what you want before wiring it into the Onan.
