RE: Solar Panel Wiring on Rubber Roof

chuckbear, that is surprising to hear of that with Liquid Tite. We used a lot of it before I retired from the telco company. Also most central A/C installers here in Arizona use it between the breaker box and the A/C unit.

RE: Carbon Monoxide/Propane Alarm - Propane Leak?

Propane alarms can pick up the odor of batteries outgassing when under a charge.

RE: Solar Panel Wiring on Rubber Roof

freetheheel, no I don't have pictures. But yes, it is a rubber roof. Several years ago I coated the rubber roof, removed the panels and simply took a heat gun to the Dicor "glue". The conduit pulled up with no problem, took a plastic putty knife and removed the remaining Dicor. When I completed the coating, reinstalled the panels, and put a dab of Dicor self leveling sealant to hold the conduit back down. Thye conduit is called "Liquid Tight". Cheap and easy to use.

RE: Solar Panel Wiring on Rubber Roof

I put the wires in the gray flexible plastic conduit (Lowes/HD) and used Dicor Self Leveling for the "glue" to hold it down seven years ago and still in place.

RE: 72 ounce steak and potato and salad

Get ahold of Joey Chestnut, the Nathan's World Champion Hot Dog eating contest champion. I'm sure he could give you some hints. Hope you give it a try. Over the years, it is always my intention of being asked to leave a buffet, but it has never happened. I have been looked at strangely at Appleby's when they offer all the riblets you can handle.

RE: Hey you Texas-domiciled Fulltimers: a Question

We were domiciled in Texas from 2003-2017. Had the truck and fiver inspected in Livingston, TX. upon setting up domicile. The rig was not back into Texas until 2010. Then had only the truck inspected. Was never back in Texas, and 2017 moved domicile to Arizona. It is no problem, just check in box that vehicle is out of state. Texas state vehicle inspection means absolutely nothing to any other state.

RE: The state of full time RVing in 2020 - RVs and TVs.

Way2Roll, if you were referring to my opinion not being factual, just be in RV parks/CGs 365 days a year and be very observant!

bukhrn, another 4-letter word not in my vocabulary. Heck, bears have hair all over their bodies and they still hibernate in the winter!

RE: The state of full time RVing in 2020 - RVs and TVs.

We have been RVing since 1974, full timing for the last 17. For the last several years and watching what is going on there are far too many people "trying" to RV that should be staying the Hilton Garden Inns or Embassy Suites. And this recent sales "explosion" just wait 12-18 months on down the road, no pun intended, when the payments start to really hit home, storage bills and all that goes with storage PITA etc. and how many times the RV was actually used there will be a fire sale. What it reminds me of would be this situation. We have never owned a boat but all of a sudden we have a brain fart. Gee, let's go buy a boat and sail the Intercoastal Coastal Waterway. What a catastrophic cluster that would be! me2's post at the end: The other issue is that some people have never had to work on vehicles or residential stuff and hope to rely on dealers and repair shops while they are on the road. That almost never turns out well, for a variety of reasons. The solution here is to tackle jobs yourself and become self reliant. So true. JMHO

RE: Nascar Follies

What Ryan Newman said "the number 8 ran out of talent". If I were Jimmy Johnson I would have called Mr. Hendrick this AM and said "it's been great ride and career in your car but I'm done, put a young buck in the car that will put it where it needs to go to win, I just don't have that desire anymore". And I want to see what the "Chipster" might have in mind.

RE: Christmas where???

That 24 hours of Christmas Day comes and goes without snow very, very well. Bar-B-Ques, etc. outside on the patio, just wonderful. I reluctantly subscribed to the "need snow" for awhile, but then I fought brain fade off and the light came on!

RE: Jury Duty

Like second chance, that is one of many reasons we went with Escapees 17 years ago. Jury duty in Polk County is managed very well. The court system understands the fulltime situation, in other words "you don't get that deer in the headlight look". Most of our notices were late when they reached us as in Alaska. Absolutely no problems. When you call the courthouse you converse with red blooded pumping human being.
