RE: Strange advice

agesilus, you can get your rig weighed at most any truck stop with scales anywhere across the USA. The Escapees weigh program doesn't even show on the radar! And since you frequent the SKP forum, you know I am a member.

RE: Slide seals

I have, but there are numerous different configurations of seals. Mine is a "P" seal with red 3M adhesive tape on it. The hotter the wall gets, the tighter the seal adheres. Probably the most labor intensive job was cleaning the area where the previous seal was glued. Some seals fit in a channel, then some go in a channel with "fingers" that hold the seal. Between removing the old adhesive and working off a ladder, it wasn't too bad.

RE: Generator Timer Click, click how to change

I have an Onan Marque Gold 7000 with a remote hour meter in the fiver. Whether digital or old style it is powered by 12 volt off the genny while running. If you want to change to digital, hook it up the same way. If want to put hours on the new meter, simply hook it to a 12 volt supply and let it run until the hours show what you want before wiring it into the Onan.

RE: Emergency Medical Care in Yuma?

Art Davis this is on local TV this AM. Of course it will be awhile coming. https://kyma.com/news/2020/11/09/yrmc-announces-new-health-campus-for-foothills-residents/

RE: Emergency Medical Care in Yuma?

Art, this was in the Yuma Sun yesterday: "A sign off of Interstate 8 has caught the attention of some readers. It’s on Araby Road heading toward 24th Street, next to the Circle K. The sign announces that Exceptional Healthcare Community Hospital is “coming soon.” I’ve reached out to the developers and have yet to hear from them except for an invitation to the groundbreaking of its Maricopa facility. But there’s plenty about the company on the Web. The Exceptional Healthcare website describes the facilities as a “premier service provider in emergency and hospital outpatient industries.” CEO Jeff Love, after completing hundreds of commercial and residential real estate investment transactions including restaurants, gas stations and stand-alone emergency rooms, founded Exceptional Healthcare in 2014. “When given the opportunity to start Exceptional Health Care, Mr. Love embraced the chance to change the way free-standing emergency rooms can serve the public,” the website says. According to the company, these small-scale inpatient facilities, known in the industry as “community hospitals” or micro-hospitals, are popping up across the country to offer medical care in underserved communities and provide a local alternative to the potentially long waits for emergency and acute care at major hospitals. Exceptional Healthcare is breaking the ground of its Maricopa facility on Nov. 13, with the goal of opening in the fall of 2021. Chief Financial Officer Saeed Mahboubi told InMaricopa.com that Maricopa will be the first location for the Texas-based company, followed by Yuma". We have never been transported by Rural Metro or needed treatment at YRMC. I can only give info that I am familiar with, having taken a couple of friends into the ER, I saw nothing different than anywhere else. Of course "snowbird season" can tax facilities. The hospital does bring in contract help. Bring your records with you. My wife had emergency surgery in Twin Falls, ID. St. Luke's Hospital in July of 2019. When she was discharged we brought her records along with her. If the medical industry in Yuma, turns off winter visitors, I'm sure someone is taking their place as thousands are here each winter and as I type this, they are steadily coming in. Some late because they got caught in the crossfire of snow in Montana and Idaho.

RE: Reflectix Insulation Application

TomG2, we put ours inside the window. Between the glass and blind here in Arizona. It sure would work better outside but like another poster stated, that creates a multitude of problems. Just removed ours yesterday since it cooled off here.

RE: Emergency Medical Care in Yuma?

Art, we have followed medical care here for 17 winters. It is the usual 50-50 deal. Half will tell you to go to San Diego/Phoenix. The other 50% has no issues with the local deals. The "urgent care" at S. Frontage RD. and Scottsdale is now a primary care facility operated by Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC). Some of our friends over the years have been admitted for stroke, heart attacks, broken bones, and I really don't remember any of them having a negative problem. To me, most people that complain say "it isn't like at home". No, anywhere you go no matter what health care, power company, water, sewer, general shopping, etc. is always going to be different. There is also an Urgent Care that has opened on the south side of Frontage RD. east of the library. Just remember when another 90,000-100,00 folks hit town, everything gets taxed more so than normal. If you decide to come make sure you check your insurance as you may want to subscribe to Rural Metro. Ambulance and fire protection are not provided by the county. Do your homework. If I can be of any help, just PM me.

RE: Any one else giving up snow birding due to the covid

Well traffic has picked up in the last two weeks here in Yuma, AZ. We got back September 18. Even spotted several Alberta plated vehicles.

RE: Front hitch

I have had a "Hidden Hitch" on the front of our Dodge Dually for 12 years. Works well, use it for a bike carrier and a tie-down for the kayaks on the truck roof.

RE: Propane Coffee Pot

When we dry park, I just use a simple Melita. Heat water in a kettle, pour over the Melita with the filter and coffee in the "funnel". Quick and good, don't need to watch percolate.

RE: Colors of trucks!

Count us in, white Ram dually. We are in Arizona, white is much cooler than dark colors, the sun doesn't eat up white as much as darker colors. Companies use white trucks, easier to logo and resell etc. I won't pay extra won't some fluffy color, sort of like the US Forest Service. A number of years ago they deep sixed that putrid green and went with white. Easier to resell at the auction. White also doesn't show dirt like many colors and since I'm not a washer or polisher it suits me to a "T".

RE: How many Canadian Snowbirds are there?

BarbaraOK, just had an Alberta plated vehicle come into an RV park here in Yuma where a friend of ours stays. They store the car here in the summer and just flew down. A little earlier than usual but the reason being the greedy airlines are quickly raising their flight prices. I think we will see more of this as the "season" gets here.

JIMNLIN, those two are vaccinated with a phonograph needle. It would be fun to put a word meter on them and check the count!

RE: Grrocery Delivery in Yuma?

We don't use it, but most stores including Wally are doing it. But someone out here in the Foothills got groceries delivered to them from Wally, but they were to be delivered to someone else yesterday. Also you can use pick-up at Wally and Fry's. Fry's uses a subcontractor to deliver as I believe also Wally does.
