need to know "spec" letter, and serial no. of gen to know which control system you have. In any case, oil level has NO EFFECT on starter and cranking operation. Older spec units did have low oil level cut out switch, but did not prevent starter operation. And...these units dont hold much oil (imho) and should be run at full crankcase level for maximum engine protection. Lots of useful info on internet,,,lots of B.S. too

bear in mind that Onan start/stop control switches are switching grounds, not batt voltage. Sounds like your start solenoid and starter are ok since it cranks when you jump 12v to solenoid start solenoid. Since neither switch will activate starter, I would suspect bad control board or ground circuit to control board. Also, disconnect remote panel wire harness, and try it at generator control. If it cranks now, you have a shorted harness on stop circuit, as the stop circuit overrides start circuit.

Your wiring is correct. 14A to middle terminal (goes to F.P.) 14 goes to top terminal (from terminal on RUN B+ connector, has power from control board when running. wire 15 goes on bottom terminal, has batt 12V+ from fuse. when you push switch to prime, batt 12V+ is connected thru switch to fuel pump. When genset is running, 12V+ is connected to fuel pump (14A) from wire 14

The prime switch used on this Generac gen. has both NC(normally closed), and NO (normally open) contacts in the switch. in prime mode, the 12v on wire 15 is connected to fuel pump thru NO contacts. In run mode, 12v from control board connects to fuel pump thru switch NC contacts. Sounds like you just need to install correct switch, Generac part# 092113

The problem as described by initial poster is caused by starter drive. Onan tech for 35 years+. Have fixed this issue literally dozens of times. have worked on hundreds of Microlite/Microquite gensets, and seen engines lock up due to broken con. rods, crankshafts, balance shafts, camshafts, dropped valves, seized rotor bearings, etc. However, since it can be freed up by jerking on flywheel/blower wheel, and then seems to run ok, would bet the farm on being a starter drive problem.

The problem is with the starter drive gear . the gear is made of a plastic/fiber material and the drive parts wear with use, then "bind up" in the flywheel-blower wheel teeth. when you reach in the air intake end and grab the flywheel fins you can usually break it free by turning it in opposite direction of normal rotation. the only fix is to replace the starter, which usually requires pulling the genset from the RV, as the enclosure cover has to be removed to access starter. There are really cheap starters available on-line, but they are really "cheap"! You get what you pay for...I would go with ONAN part; 191-2351, usually available for under $100 from Onan parts dealer.
