RE: Clean Diesel trucks for TC ... maybe not!

The only thing that travels faster than light is misinformation over the internet.

RE: Recommendations for quiet portable generator

I have run EU2000s for hundreds of hours on boats and campers in single and in parallel. As much as I cringe at the price, I like them, their light weight and flexibility.

RE: Propane Usage 2500 Watt Onan

I have the 2500 Cummings (Onan) LP generator. Found myself in Georgia in a Walmart parking lot one particularly hot/humid evening. Started the generator and turned on AC. By the next morning (about 10 hours later) it had sucked most of a 30 lb tank (7 gal) dry and the generator died because the tanks was so cold that it had frosted up on the outside. Switched over to the other tank, finished breakfast and hit the road. Compared to a gasoline powered (Honda), not a great choice for efficiency or even quietness but it is handier than heck. If I was really going to boon-dock for an extended period of time, I would load up my Honda EU2000.

RE: 2020 Ford F350 - XLT or Lariat / options guidance?

Just to get the wide track, heavy duty, tighter turning radius front axle (which you can't get on F350 anymore, I would go with F450 Lariat with BLIS, Adaptive Cruise and Tow Tech package with adaptive steering. No to FX4 (good luck)- adds to loading/unloading pains and higher center of gravity - not good for truck campers.

RE: The verdict is in! DRW vs SRW....real world

I have had both late model SRW and DRW and there is a big difference. Some people have to learn for themselves, I was one of them. DRW rules with a truck camper.

RE: Do you unload when you camp? Really?

In the grand scheme of hooking things up to the truck (5th wheel, travel trailer, boat trailer, etc) the truck camper takes the most focus and skill. We do take it off if we are staying more than a day. TC can be considered cargo for insurance and home owners association purposes. For everything else it is generally considered a RV except at some resorts who don't allow them.

RE: Does anyone carry a scooter on the front of the truck?

I have a Honda Monkey Z125 on the front of a F350 with class 3 hitch/MC ramp. Does it affect the cooling, yes by about 5 degrees when fully loaded running 75 MPH. IMHO, not enough impact to worry about and slowing down is always an option.
