RE: Make a "Smart" RV ?

it's easy to have an open mind when it's somebody else's time and money.

RE: Things to do in Biloxi/Gulfport MS

Go west along the beach to visit Waveland, the town where Katrina came ashore. Nice places to eat and a great little museum about what little was left after Katrina hit. Buchanan State Park is just a few miles west of town, we stayed May of 2018 for several days. Stennis is really worth seeing also as mentioned above.

RE: Just 13 threads

Don't fret, will pick up in the spring when all the newbies buy RV's and then have to ask inane questions. Wow what a condescending remark. This Forum is supposed to be helpful to newbies. Sorry, but no it's not. Why would anybody want to believe a total stranger rather than their own research? The most memorable one recently was whether their RV battery was 6 or 12 volt. Really? It's very plain if you read the label, maybe you could learn something all by yourself. And before you go there it was a brand new unit, I'm sure the label was still there. I'll help anybody but if they don't have a clue about what you are trying to tell them it's pointless. It just leads to more inane questions. This isn't Google.

RE: New to us question

Thanks Doug, hoping you'd respond. 1 Yes it is. 2 I don't believe it was installed later as it is wired thru the wall with no sign of any after work. 3 No idea on AC as manuals in the coach were not the correct ones for this 5er. 4 Heat from both stats came out the floor. 5 The AC I referred to poorly is the main AC roof mounted. The bedroom AC is controlled separably by another digital stat upstairs in the bedroom. 6 I'll check that. I'd love to ask the person who owned it previously but it was a trade in at a dealer. To be honest I didn't notice it as odd on the PDI. BTW Forest River is of zero help, I went there first.

New to us question

We just traded up to a Forest River Blue Ridge 3025RL. I crawled, poked, and pondered all over it but have one lingering issue. What manuals came with it belonged to a Keystone product but some of the tech manuals did match what was on this unit. Next to the command center going up the stairs are 3 thermostats. They were all factory installed evidently. One is the digital control for the heat and the downstairs air. Black square box. The lower one is a Honeywell manual stat that controls the roof fan, but there is a white manual one branded as Emerson that did nothing when I was using the digital stat to run the heat as we loaded it for a trip. After I shut the heat off with the digital stat I was fooling with the manual Emerson and on came the heat again. Why would they do that? Any ideas?

I heard that DQ sold the settlement out to Wendy's for small Frostys.

RE: Substancial deposit required

With DW's parents both at 89 and all grades of medical catastrophes last year we can't reserve much until the last minute. With the booming numbers of new rvers that doesn't leave much. We'll manage a short trip here or there and that's ok for now but no nonrefundable reservations. I don't blame the CG owners, they have a business to run. No different than a restaurant that refuses reservations or spends the evening watching over a half empty place.

RE: TV went out, easy fix.

I know how to check source before I call for help. Spectrum tech went right to hdmi after I told her what I had already checked. This was all on a phone call BTW. I have a neighbor who has lost 3 out of 4 hdmi ports on one of his tvs. It must be fairly common for tech support to go right to it. I had just never heard of it and wanted to share.

TV went out, easy fix.

Some of you will know this but it may help others. Our 2 TV cable set up at the house went up. One worked, the other had no signal. After following the turn off unplug protocols from other outages I called tech. Told me to switch HDMI ports on the TV. Bingo! Evidently they go bad, who knew.

14g wire in a hole that can take 12g starts fires. Ask any insurance claims adjuster.

RE: No Reception on TV

If you have a bedroom tv the booster should be in that area so that it can feed multiple tvs.

RE: New to is mysteries

New to is mysteries

Our new to us 2014 Forest River Blue Ridge 3025RL has 2 mysteries I need some help on. There were no manuals in the unit when we bought it last week. This unit has a fresh, gray, and black tank. There is a door on the road side behind the propane door that contains a gray and a black tank pull handle along with other plumbing controls. The mystery is that about 4 feet back on the skirting is a round access door that unscrews and accesses a third pull handle that is labeled as the other gray handle is. The fresh drain is clear back by the rear bumper on the road side. Anybody know what and why that is there? No second BTW and all specs on the web list only one 60 gallon gray tank. The other mystery is the factory speaker system. There are 3 speaker choices and all can be on or chosen by themselves. A is the living room roof speakers and C is the storage bay fold down speakers on the curb side. B plays music but the speakers are inside the road side living slide somewhere which makes no sense. There are no grilles inside or outside on the slide (open at the time) and they sound like they are serenading the refer. Just curious on this question. Thanks for any guidance.
