That was a sad day.I imagine Jr is thinking about him as well and realizing how you never know how the same thing can end so differently.

RE: It's time for a replacement truck

Unless your usage changes gasser is the winner. I'm a huge Cummins fan and I'm on my second but our usage is different from yours.

RE: Propane Switch: Was Red, Now Green

Make sure that the lever is in the left position before you unhook the right tank to go get it refilled. Or turn off the left tank if you don't need it for anything until you get back with the newly refilled right tank. I can't say all regulators act the same way but just to be sure.

RE: Well, They gone and done it

My high school yearbook wouldn't print my senior picture. They considered it too radical for 1971. It still makes me laugh.

RE: Found my replacement engine!

Yes, that would be one of the earliest Allisons behind a DM. Allison trannys are one of the best if not the best in the industry. They are used in different configurations all over the world. The issue with the longevity in the early DMs was that GM speced the tranny to the stock power as the DM power numbers increased over the years. Tuning and hot rodding a 02 DM without the needed upgrades to the tranny will not end well. That's all I'm saying and that is why I suggested a straight drive (manual) trans behind that behemoth 502 in that older Ford truck.

RE: Found my replacement engine!

A stock 1000 Allison won't last with those hp and torques numbers. Put a straight drive behind with a good clutch and have fun. YeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaw. Bowtie in the back window optional. Why is that when a stock DM HP numbers are higher than that gas engine and torque numbers are WAY higher? Saw a lot of tuned Duramax trucks during my working years with blown Allison trannys that warranty would not cover. That 502 engine in a 90 Ford truck will not have the software to minimize the issue. I'm only referencing the light duty Allisons, not the models specifically designed and installed in behemoth MHs and newer model big number 2500 and 3500 pick ups. His application would require a tranny rework to last is all I'm saying.

RE: C 19

"Why? Because we have no natural or acquired immunity, the RNA sequencing of the genes inside the virus isn’t human, and the human immune system doesn’t recognize it so, we can’t fight it off." Didn't know that, thanks.

RE: Coronavirus (Covid-19) compared to Spanish flu ?

Might be tough to find a survivor from 1918 that is still alive and had it. Let's hope this time works out way better.

RE: Reservations cancelled

State and local campgrounds are far from close human contact when the sites are 40 feet wide. Guy, your other comment is unnecessary.

RE: Found my replacement engine!

I'd measure the hood clearance before I placed my order. That beast is tall. But we know you want a fiberglass hood anyway haha.

FYI this is a county park. SC state parks still have no comment on which way they will go.

RE: Nascar Follies

NASCAR says that they will run all of the races when they come back. It's going to wear the teams, support staff, and NASCAR employees to a nub trying to reschedule all of those races into the original season time frame. We'll see but I don't see it happening.
