RE: S.E. Pennsylvania to North Myrtle Beach

I'd say stick to your guns on 95 but no way on a weekend. The beach traffic on US 13 to the CBBT will all be east west with the exception of the Outer Banks traffic that will disappear in Chesapeake VA. Your early start time should beat that rush. The new Royal Farms station with diesel truck lanes is 3 miles north of the CBBT and there is a lobster roll food truck next door on weekends. We lived on the Eastern Shore for 20 years and the key to 13 is just hang back and take it easy. They have improved the light timing somewhat over the years but it can get frustrating at times. You are going to have a long day whichever route you choose. The lack of law enforcement since covid has turned 95 into a very dangerous race track with massive accidents every weekend causing very long delays thru NC If you end up on 95 for part of the trip run Wase for slow down alerts and be aware of where you can jump over to 301 thru NC.

RE: Transitioning Class A to Super duty truck and Fifth Wheel

An honest assessment would be easier to get without the reference to the MH. It muddied the water. Good luck with whichever you choose, you have a lot of towing experience so that won't be an issue.

RE: Homemade Tire Scale

This is awesome, the best post of the year. Thanks so much. Our 5er has got to be way heavy on the road side as everything is on that side. I'd like to know just how heavy. This will do it and at a great price.

RE: SEMI cameras

They have mirrors everywhere. The trucker knew where they were.

RE: Nascar Follies

We now have 13 race winners without Hamlin or Harvick. Will we see a race winner get bumped from the championship? Still can happen, wow.

RE: Should Be Simple But..

It's nice of you to try to help your friend. It is simple to solve but the panels will have to come out or down to begin with. The panels will come out easily and is the necessary first step in any diag for this problem. Or they could call a mobile tech.

RE: Nascar Follies

Given the situation at NH yesterday I must commend Kyle B for staying out of trouble during his interview after his car was trashed.

RE: Modern day Bo & Luke Duke car launch...!!!

Glad that she survived. Was a rear seat passenger in the truck not belted in? Screaming always helps calm things down.

RE: RV sites near Raleigh, NC

The NC state Fairgrounds are first come first serve, no reservations. The Fairgrounds are closed to the public during the State Fair period that includes set up and tear down. Local state parks and private campgrounds will be booked during the same period. Other than weekends reservations will be available near Raleigh after the Fair.

RE: I refuse to double tow.

Behind a 3/4t shortbed. Keeps the pin weight light so he doesnt need air bags . Trailer suspension wont take that very long. Thats an extra ton or more on the trailer axles. It appears to be a Ram truck ,so no problem there . :B That is true, at least he can unhook the RZR and get help when his Ram takes a poop.;) That's funny, good retort. Even if I don't agree :)

RE: Filling dually tires

I have never seen the above kits before. Interesting solution to an age old problem. I'm getting too old to be humping heavy wheel and tire combos around. Thanks for the link. Certain tire machines may have issues with these, you may have to install them after the tire is on the rim to avoid shooting them into the wall or the installer.

RE: [SOLVED] Work truck with service bed to tow a fifth wheel?

Don't kid yourself, salt air near the ocean eats metal like Pac-Man. Service bodies are especially susceptible to rust but as the OP would toss it that's out of play. .

RE: Thousand Trails allowing public access???

It's possible that not all of the sites are TT sites within a larger CG. Have your friend try to book a site w/o going thru TT.

RE: I kid you not!

Since July 4th is Independence Day I've heard both used my whole life. It just depends on where you lived growing up. Small towns tend to use the Independence Day version.
