RE: Surgery has changed my life...for the worse

Yes we can live in the manner we want, but that also includes the spouse regardless of gender. No one is in charge during a relationship. It's a partnership that can be bought out of if it goes so bad it can't be fixed.

RE: Winter Camping in Myrtle Beach

Have a great time, but the temps mentioned above are suspect. Daytimes will be anywhere from 35-70, and nights will be into the 30s most nights. We have ben camping in MB for 40 years. Carolina Pines is a wonderful CG but you will lose some of the benefit of the ocean warmth being that far inland. One year we had to wait until our awning thawed to leave on the last day. Just be prepared for anything.

RE: Poor Sales and Service policies

As with any other chain, a particular location is as good or as bad as it's staff. A lot of locations were already performing poorly as independents or they wouldn't have sold out to CW. The **** that the manufacturers are putting out and what the "warranty" allows are burdens to owners AND CW. Businesses are in business to make money, pure and simple. They don't go out of their way to make a customer mad. I can only speak for 2 CW/Gander locations. Fredericksburg VA (Thornburg) and Raleigh NC (Garner) as far as major dealings go but was impressed by both.

I hope they find him quick. I'm 6'3, 240 lbs and drive a twin to that truck.

RE: How is the snow bird traffic on I-95

We haven't cancelled yet but we will not be going this year. Hoping for a miracle but this year hasn't produced many of those.

RE: tranny temp got to 250!! yikes,, troubling questions

Looking at your profile leads me to think you have a gage/sending unit problem. With a John Woods trans and a 6.0 cooler you should be fine. If the fluid is still pink/red I wouldn't worry, just keep an eye on it. Tuners are great for hot rodding, sometimes not so good for towing. I also had a 99 7.3. Gage went to 300 once towing on flat land. I was more than halfway to my destination so I kept going. Never happened again but I did put a trans in it just to be on the safe side. The original had 200K on it at the time.

RV roof UV coating. Worth it?

An accident has our 5er in the shop. They are trying to sell me roof UV coating while it's there. My research tells me the stuff is cheap, way cheaper than they are wanting and doable by me. Feedback would be appreciated. TIA

RE: wheel balancers

Have any of us used beads and these at different times and if so is there any difference?

RE: Long Road trip

We've tented, had 5 TTs, and are now on our second 5er. What keeps us from the diesel MH we would want is that a lot of the possible issues require a shop. There is very little on a TT/5er I can't fix. Each one has their benefits and issues. A trunk camper could be a good alternative as well in certain cases.

RE: Portable Generator

I think DB meant that he posted in the wrong place, not the OP. I always just use a . when I mess up.

RE: Black Tanks Won’t Flush

Google isn't always correct due to the info it receives. Our FR 5er lists one grey at 60 gallons. It really is 2 30 gallon tanks with one pull handle behind a round cosmetic port 4 feet from the wet bay and the other in the wet bay beside the black tank pull. One grey is bath, the other is kitchen. Looking at the 5er specs you might want to find a scale so that you know what you are dealing with truck spec wise.

RE: Benson, AZ area RV parks?

Kartchner Caverns State Park. Very new and if I remember right they are all or mostly pull thru with very wide spacing. Caverns on site also. Go see the Forever Home donkey rescue, Tombstone, and the gold mine in Bisbee. Nice tour of the mine and it's a cute little town. Border patrol everywhere so don't get spooked. It gets blazing hot by April/May so plan accordingly.

RE: Nascar Follies

Last years field was 18 cars, so 6 of the 16 Chase drivers were already in by some other method. I wouldn't care if they were running Neons, I'd still watch.

RE: Anyone ? GM 3.0 diesel

My experience with diesels in general from my dealership background is that the engines themselves are fine. That oil bath v belt is a bit wonky admittedly but 90 percent of the problems are from the emissions systems. The early FCA 3.0s did have some mechanical issues but they worked them out. If someone is in that market I would recommend the 5.0 Cummins Nissan.

RE: Anyone ? GM 3.0 diesel

I heard that they were spectacular. If they are so spectacular, do they have a cloaking device? I've asked others around the area and no one has seen one yet. Fish, it's a play on words. Read the OP carefully. Pretty sure spell check got him and he meant spectators.

RE: New mall crawler!

It should fit in the garage if you remove the yellow ball cap off the roof. Congratulations. I didn't know w t f you were talking about until I went back and looked at the pic. That's funny! It fits in the shop, but shop = mine. Truck = wifes. I need the Although I don't think it's ever going under a 7' door even if I ditch the headache rack and drop to 35s. It's the new Napa delivery vehicle model.
