RE: Class-C'ers Unsecured EZ-Up Meets Side of Nice Prevost

Who says the C pictured owned the EZ up? It could have come from anywhere.

RE: New to rv ownership is this an okay fix?

I wouldn't have waited until the rain stopped. Too late for that now but get the right cover. Water damage is the number one killer of RVs.

RE: Parking on Slopped Drivery

I see that no cars are parked on that street. Is there a HOA or a busybody neighbor that will quickly have that TT removed and the cars back in the garage? This entire concept is wishful thinking. Please find a storage unit and bring it home the night before you leave to pack.

Dometic 2852 coil fan replacement

On our last trip the fridge external coil cooling fan was squalling in mid 90s heat. I ordered a pair of fans from Amazon but let them sit until until it cooled down here in NC. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. When I pulled the fridge out yesterday I discovered that it had been out before. The chrome tape was punctured and the upper 2 screws inside were missing. This is a 2014 so that surprised me. Anyway I look at the back of the unit and there sits 1 fan next to empty mounting holes for another fan. I mounted both new fans, made a wiring harness to combine the 2 using the connector for the original fan and put it back together. The ones I used are Wathai 9225 92mm x 25mm 12V 2Pin Dual Ball Bearing DC Brushless Cooling case Fan at 10.99 each free prime shipping. They are the exact same size with the exact same mounting holes. Dumb luck.

RE: How much weight is too much?

Without scale slips this is all conjecture.

RE: Exclusive: Utterly Unique Fifth Wheel

I want to see one in person with specs and pricing available. OTR buses have had basement AC for 50 plus years without issue. Height is no issue, they addressed that already. It's about time someone reinvented the idea, time will tell.

RE: What is the opening question....

You've been thinking about this for a while haven't you? :B

RE: Reality check - 2006 Chevy 2500

I would not be too concerned with GVWR. With a FW, almost all weight is on the rear axle/rear tires. I'm thinking you have a RAWR of at least 6000, so how much wt is on the rear axle right now? Lets guess 2800 plus hitch 200 still leaves 3000 for pin wt, which would handle loaded pin wt of say 2400 using the FW you are considering. You can take your truck only, loaded with people, fuel, some gear, add 200 for hitch, and see exactly what the rear axle weighs. Jerry My RAWR is 6800ish. Great next step to do as you suggest...go do a weigh and see. I’ll shoot for on evening this week. Please post a pic of your load ratings from the door jam. The 6800 lb RAWR seems awful high for a 2500. I'm seeing 6084 listed.

Was my post that volatile?

I guess it was. Short version, KOA Outer Banks Currituck Sound beware. Not on the outer banks, only one pic on the site is actually there, no pool, and very high prices.

RE: Pet Peeves long road trip

I don't look for trouble but as many of those bastids have pulled out right in front of me I just do what I do. If they want to do something stupid it will be on my dash cam.

RE: Losing the camper for the fall

Keep her out this year is my thought. The school will still be there when this calms down. Do you really want her exposed needlessly?

RE: Outer banks

There are 2 64s on the way to the Outer Banks. For those not familiar with the area I64 is in VA E from I81 towards Chesapeake and loops. US 64 runs the entire length w to E of NC and ends at Nags Head. It depends where you are coming from which one to use.

RE: NC campgrounds with good internet

I tether to my phone when away from home. Verizon unlimited, usb to the phone. I've never not been able to connect, even in some remote areas. I'm on it right now 59.6 down 9.5 up. Nags Head.

RE: Are RV sewer hose supports necessary?

I've got 120 gallons of tank. If I want to walk that far I'll walk to the beach. The park mentioned was a SC state park. A new environmental policy, not sure if fed or state.

RE: My last Home Depot purchase...

Tractor Supply has water tanks in stock. They don't know if you are a cow or a person. But $5 worth of bottled water and you're good.

RE: What's up with the DEF Delete?

New Hanover county NC does have diesel emission testing. You'd be screwed if it really was deleted. That said private sellers and punk salespeople always claim "bulletproofed" or "deleted" but they don't even know what that is. If you really like the truck walk back to the service department and ask straight out if they do in fact do that service. I'd be very surprised if they did. Have them do an emission test at their expense if the dealership is in your county of New Hanover. Most of the deletes involve egr and dpf, not def.
