RE: Illinois state park alcohol rules

State parks in illinios that I have been to have no alcohol however I have talked to rangers and park employees and they know that it goes on but don't care about the adults who drink responsively aka quietly and don't cause problems. The signs give them backup to throw out the disrespecting partiers/problem makers. For those who are quiet never had issues. I advoid SP's during the holidays as they are over packed and too much partying goes on. Wecome to our state and hope you enjoy your stay

RE: Dollywood best time

During the week is the best Dollywood will still have alot of visitors but I was glad we went during the week. We stayed in creekside and met a former worker from Dollywood and he suggested that we go during the week and glad we did. Also the trolly will take you right up by the front although we drove over. And this was the week of July forth. Enjoy your trip

RE: Coil on plug # 6 on Ford V10

I have a 2004 F250 Super Duty V10 and just had #6 coil pack replaced at the dealer and my motor was running the same. This was after changing fuel filter and mass air flow sensor which temporality corrected the issue. Local mechanic tried the you need a tune up which I had alreaady changed the plugs 2 years ago at the dealer which tested all the coils then. And I took it to the dealer after being told it needed a tune up. Simply due to if they needed to replace a plug they could do it. As with aluminum heads it would be on them if the screwed uo installing the plug. All that it ended up bei g was tthe #6 coil pack. It runs great agin and has 130k on it.

RE: Plate fees are going up in illinois

Stopped by my local DMV in IL and inquired about the new plate fee's and car/truck plates are going to $101.00 to $151.00 and RV trailer fee's are going from $30.00 to $130.00 starts jan 1st 2020 and they said all other plate fees were going up as well just didn't have information yet. Atleast I get to pay $30.00 for the TT in Dec this year but I'm hit with $151.00 in Jan with my truck gotta love the tax the state of Illinois to death. I assume that is per year? In Oregon vehicle plates are some what cheap $112 for standard plates for two years. Except Washington and Multnomah County's In Multnomah County it is $150 for two years and in Washington county it is $172 for two years. Our 32' 5er will cost $229.50 the rate is based on length fee goes from $81.00 to $317 25 for a 45' travel trailer/5er for two years. Yes this is per year.

That $151 plate fee is for cars and trucks under 8000 lbs. If your GVWR is over 8000 then you need a D plate that will be $250. I was told by a state trooper Illinois is going to start going after all the trucks that do not have the correct plates. If your GVWR is 8001 or more you need a D plate if your GVWR is 12001 or more you need a F plate. I was told fines will start at $1 per pound over. I have a disabled plate and it will cost $151.00

RE: Chatanooga Bound

I second holiday travel park very convient to chattanooga as stated above. We did most of the things listed and we did the southern belle boat. they offer dinner cruises and we did the lunch cruise as dinner was booked up you can google for the southern belle website. And although you normally don't want rain the more rain before you go the better Ruby falls is. Also if your tall watch your head as you can't move the mountain with your head I know I tried :B you mwill take a elevator down and walk back to the falls well worth seeing. And if i remember if you stay at Holiday travel park turn right and follow the 2 lane you'll get to ruby falls etc and beat the city traffic. The 2 lane criss crosses the GA/TN state lines whinh the park has a TN addtress it's in GA 1 mile from state line.

RE: Confessions of an RV Salesman

My girlfriend's brother bought a TT that weighed 9800lbs and they had a 5 cylinder chevy colorado. I still wonder how they managed to pull it home 100 miles and not kill the truck or anyone else, Decided theyn needed a bigger truck went to local truck dealer and told salesman what they had and what they were pulling and was talked into buying a halfton dodge. And finally they asked me for advice as the new truck wasnt helping much. New truck still wasn't enough hooked up with mine (2004 F250 V10) and my truck didn't know it was back there, They decided to move down to Texas from Illinois and they ended up trading the newly bought TT for a lite weight TT. And took a bath trading the TT. I couldn't afford to buy thiers. some salesman will talk anyone into buying just to make a sale.

RE: Selling a Class A Motorhome

Sorry for your loss. I would talk with your local dealers and see about consignment and great advice regarding scammers. Do you know any friends that you met while camping that may be able to help you just a thought.

RE: Gas stations

Our local mobil gas station was built about 5 years ago and they have 20 gas pumps in the front 2 e 85 and one auto diesel and off to the side another 6 trucker diesel pumps with the outer pump having auto diesel and gas!! Sadly almost everyday I see pickups and trailers, horse trailers, travel trailers,5vers and motorhomes using the front pumps despite signs directing to the outside pumps. I think its more the mentality of thats for the big rigs. I do see some that figure it out and I talk to some and tell them about it and most are greatful as 3 weekends a mont the a local horse shows and alot of traffic comes thru the town to get to the venue. And when I travel I have had a few tight spots but Ive always gotten in and out. And a few I couldn't believe I did LOL

RE: Location & Changing fuel filter Ford E 450 V10

My 2004 F250 CC pickup v10 fuel filter is under driver's door on the frame rail and you will need a special wrench to remove the filter. Google how to change a fuel filter and you should get plenty of how to videos. I took mine to my mechanic and one hour later done.

RE: Short queen mattress

I had a custom made mattress for home made by a local mattress factory store and inquired about having one made for my travel trailer and just needed to supply measurements but it has to wait as due to divorce I'm paying off a attorney but I did get the travel trailer. But we have several custom mattress stores in my area.

RE: I-70 to remain closed until Saturday following crash in DVR

There was apparently another wreck about 1.5 miles ahead of where this horrible wreck happened and there's like a 6% grade down hill before it flattens out and it's possible that he lost his brakes sadly no runaway ramps near where this was. Authorities stated no drugs or alcohol in the driver. It's sad tradgity for all involved prayers to all. The families of those who lost loved ones and to all of the police, fire,EMS and tow truck operators and airflights and those who witnessed the tragedy

RE: Gas engines in school buses coming back?

Our local schools districts have both and the newer ones seem to be gas. And our two local ambulance companies are switching to gas engines also the new UPS trucks are gas. FedEx seems to be diesels still. And growing up I remember school buses were gas engines along with our towns fire trucks.
