RE: need new tires

Just put Goodyear Endurance tires on my fifth wheel. Had a blow out on the three year old original tires with about 4000 miles on them. It was between Maxxis and the Goodyear. I have had Maxxis in the past and was very happy with them. However the Goodyear Endurance had two extra things going for them. Higher speed rating and stronger side walls. Even being a newer tire only a few years on the market, they have been getting good reviews. My tires are ST225/75R 15, I replaced all five including the spare. I paid $775 at Tires Plus. The same five tires at Discount Tire would have been $739. The discount tire is 65 miles round trip for me so I bought at Tires Plus. The dollar amount for both places was the out the door price tires, mounting & balance, taxes etc

RE: Replacing Tires on my GMC

Ok thanks for the constructive replys. Decided on the Michelin Defenders, Discount tries had the best price. They checked for any warranty from Firestone, because there original tires nothing. All have a good and safe Fourth

RE: Replacing Tires on my GMC

I rotate the tires at every oil change since new, I have the dealer due the oil changes right around 5000 miles. I run the rear tires at 80PSI and the front at 75PSI. Have about 5000 towing miles with the fifth wheel and then a few hundred miles with a utility trailer. No lead foot while towing the fifth wheel on the Interstate I set the cruise at 62 or 63, never over 65 except to pass if needed. Then back to the set speed. On back roads I due the posted speed limit. When not towing I due the speed limit or no more than 75 on the Interstate if the posted limit is 70. Hope this answers your questions. I'm just looking for a good set of tires, not what did you due wrong to cause the tires to wear down. Thank you to the ones that answered, looks like Michelin is the way to go.

Replacing Tires on my GMC

My tow vehicle is a 2017 GMC 2500HD. The original tires are Firestone LT225/75R17, they only have 23000 miles. I have rotated these tires at every oil change approx. every 5000 miles. All four tires have worn fairly equal. They need to be replace as the tread on all tires now minimal. What would be a good choice for replacement tires? I'm towing a Keystone Cougar Lite Fifth wheel model 26rls. Empty weight about 6800lbs loaded about 8300.

Thank you everyone for the information. I'm going to check out each suggestion and figure out what will work best for me. Again thank you.

Inexpensive Garmin GPS

I've been reading all the GPS posts I can find and have know all the pros and cons of the Garmin RV GPS units. However I do not want a fancy unit. I'm looking for a Garmin unit with US and Canadian maps along with LMT. I don't own a GPS unit, the only time I used a GPS was on our boat. Were heading to the Canadian Maritimes for a few months next year and would like to have a GPS for that trip. Is there a Garmin unit that would work for me. Maybe one for a car would need. Please don't bombard me with all the reasons I should get something like a Garmin RV770, I'm not looking for that. Thanks
