RE: Moving LiFePo4, Rewire or run Long Extensions?

Leave the battery where it is. Insulate the compartment with some spray foam insulation. Run a small heat duct to the area. Do not put wet cell batteries inside the camper.

RE: EMS / Surge Protector

We are in the process of ordering our next home (Grand Design Momentum 397th). We will be getting a Surge protector / Energy management systems. Currently trying to chose between Hughes Voltage booster or their Surge protectors. What do you use/recommend. Any other brand better? Not worried about the cost since it will be protecting our home. Thanks for you Advice/Knowledge
You need both. EMS and Hughes Autoformer. Two different species of equipment that do different things.

RE: splicing aluminum to copper elec wire

You can coat the wires with electrical de-oxidation grease and use a standard wire nut rated cu/al.
non you can not' use cu/al butt splice crip connectors. copper on one side Al on the other. or cu/al split bolt connectors.

RE: Exercise genny while on shore power?

No need to unplug anything. That is why they call it an " AN AUTOMATIC TRANSFER WITCH". IT IS DESIGNED TO DO JUST THAT. It is not a decoration.

RE: Shutoff valves for appliances?

Close off and disconnect your propane tanks. Blow out with compressed air.
no shot offs. That costs money. No need for a makeshift cap. Buy the proper brass threaded cap and install with some Teflon tape and be done with it.

RE: Water pump not circulating anti-freeze

Never put antifreeze in the FW tank. Use the 2'pickup hose that is in between the pump and the FW tank. If you don't have one there put one. $15.00. It only takes 2 gal to fill and RV with antifreze.

Change the oil per the manufacturer's recommendations. That is way too long!

RE: Diluted RV Antifreeze

You can afford an RV but you cant afford $2.50 per gal of anti-freeze? It only takes 2 gals to do most any RV.

Take the battery back and have it load tested. Then start with a multimeter.

RE: Electrical Short Under Sink on 2019 1062 Lance

look under the slide. You will find a junction box where the 120 AC romex wire meets a flexible conduit to go into the slide. You need to replace the wire that is in the flexible conduit. Both ends of that conduit are accessible. One end in the j-box and the other is at a receptacle or another or piece of equipment.

RE: Installed new charger, batteries not charging

There are 2 reverse polarity fuses in the converter for the battery. There is an inline resettable fuse within 6' of the battery. The battery disconnect switch must be "IN-use".
Stop replacing parts. Buy a multimeter and learn how to use it. YouTube is your friend.
You can not fix electricity without a multimeter.

RE: Fifth Wheel Purchase

My wife and I are looking for a fifth wheel we can pull with our 2020 Ram 1500 crew cab... 5.8 eTorque, 4x4 with 3.90 gear... supposedly can pull close to 12K.
We have been looking at the Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 25RES and the Jayco Eagle HT 24RE... somewhat similar in floorplan that we like, and keeping the price under $40K. Have not really looked much elsewhere, but would be open to suggestions.
I did not want to post this in one of the brand forums because it might not be fair to one brand over the other.
I was unable to find out much about how the Keystone is built, but Jayco puts a good bit of info on their site about the features of their units. I like the idea of the Nev-R-Adjust® Brakes that the Jayco has... their Laminated Wall Construction... ClimateShield... and the fully enclosed and heated underbelly. Keystone may have similar features, but apparently not as advertised, with the exception of ClimateGuard.
The reviews are somewhat of a "wow"... could not believe all the poor reviews I am reading of both brands. There does seem to be more poor reviews for Keystone than Jayco, although it seems like each have their share of issues.
Curious if anyone has these particular units, or maybe if I can simply hear from owners of these brands and/or models.
No offense, but not knowing what participation and ownership of these models is like in the various RV forums, you may see this cross posted in another forum.

Sonnie
