RE: Which side should rough wiring for roof ac be on?

Always on the front on ones I have seen, mostly Dometic Right or left does not matter as the 3-wires from AC will be kind-of looped anyway and hang in the return air space/cavity. The side that the power is attached will likely be where the knobs are located. If middle then middle, if knobs on the right then route the power there. If you can come from the front then should be perfect, if from the side then, yes, aim at the front 5 inches. When you say,Romex, do you mean solid copper house wire? Generally RVers tend to believe that solid wire will be more likely to develop cracks, but the wound/stranded electrical cord (like a heavy extension cord) will not crack due to vibrations on the road. I always buy a heavy gauge extension cord (cheaper than buying by the foot) and use that for the AC electrical. Im on 6th camper renno. 120 volt wiring in all rv/s is ROMEX. Flexable rubber cord is only used in movable slides. Wiring is per the NEC. Solide wire does not CRACK. Just run enough wire to the hole to go all the way around it.

RE: frsh water tank

Very common in all Types of Rv's. Check valve leaking. Take pump apart and clean. Rebuilt kits available on Amazon. Install a check valve between the pump and the FW tank. 3 fixes is all I got.

RE: Interior height of Bushwacker Plus

Phone 260-768-7932 fax 260-768-7921 Braxton Creek. Based on exterior high at 8' 6" I'd say you could stand up inside but a phone call will tell for sure.

RE: wiring a 30 Amp Power Outlet 30A Circuit Breaker {{UPDATE}}

No pigtails. Black wire to the breaker. White to the panel neutral buss and ground to the ground buss. Neutral buss will be insulated from the metal can. Ground buss will have a ground screw or a lug attached to the can.

RE: Cleaning your AC Filter

Never and it's just plan stupid. Without the filter you are allowing the dirt to collect on the coils instead of the filter and blocking air flow thru the coils!! You cannot get to the coils to clean without going on the roof with special coil cleaner that is hard to buy and unsafe to use without proper training.

RE: Coach Power Switch

Again, is Coach power 12 volt or 120 volt.? Are you referring to the Battery disconnect switch at the front door of the MH? (sometimes called a Salesman switch by newbies) It is a low amperage switch controlling a high amperage relay. Just like the starter on your car. The word POWER can mean 120 volt AC or it can mean 12 volt DC. Two different systems. Disconnect switch can mean 12 volt disconnect switch or 120 volt disconnect switch. Not picking on you. "What we have here is a failure to communicate". a problem in a forum world.

RE: Coach Power Switch

RE: Disconnect/Shut off converter when inverter is on

Hook the convert back up to the circuit breaker. Use the circuit breaker to turn the converter on and off.

RE: Pipes Burst

Nothing much. Just the damage you must cause accessing the broken pipes to fix. And the damage cause in the spring by the water if you don't know the pips are broken.

RE: Question on inverter/charger AC backfeed

Hi all. New member here about to pickup a Grand Design this weekend and I'm already planning out upgrades to make the rig 100% usable off grid. I'm versed in electrical but the whole inverter/charger thing is new to me and I have concerns with the split phase nature of them. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if you run one leg of the 50A service to the inverter and the second leg directly to the panel, when the inverter is running wouldn't you be backfeeding the second leg. Seems that unless you kick off the breaker to that leg your shore power connection will be hot. My old Lance 5th wheel only has a male connection so that would be a major concern. Any input your have is appreciated. Thanks. No back feed. It all depends on how the inverter is wired. Inverter can power just circuit hooked to it OR it can go back to a split buss panel and feed just a few things in 1/2 of the panel. I think the newer high end all electric coaches it can feed the whole panel but I have no first hand knowledge on that.

RE: Surge Guard Protector..????

Different, yes. But also better. Consider an autoformer. Auto former is a totally different piece of equipment. All it does is raise voltage. Offers no other protection. Hughes is now selling an EMS to go with the autoformer.
