RE: Class A travel without interstates

I have no issue with interstate highways but when I have the time to avoid a large city, I certainly do. I have driven some great US highways around cities like Kansas city and Atlanta and have also driven through those same cities. I can tell you going around them was much more pleasurable of a drive.

RE: RV magazine

Well I for one will keep my subscription. I also don't like the new magazine at all but TP is getting hard to get around here again.

RE: Aquahot issues

You have 3 pumps in the Aquahot. The pump to the right of the burner is the stir pump, See if that one is running. If the stir pump fails you wont get much hot water at the faucet. You also may have a remote booster pump, mine is on the opposite of the coach, I don't know where Monaco would put one but if it isn't working, you won't get heat up front. Aquahot has a great service manual on line that gives a lot of info that helps with troubleshooting

RE: Removed over/stove...replaced with two burner induction.

Ivylog, nice looking install. I think you will find it to be one of the best mods you've ever done. I also have a 2 burner True in the coach and carry a single to use out side for vegetables or fries when I grill outside.I have a onboard 20 lb portable LP tank for the Weber.

RE: RV Magazine

I'm not impressed and won't renew unless the bring back the type of articles the old mag had. Not interested in TT. 5er's or how to make fish tacos.

RE: Using Side/Rear Cameras for Security

Actually the side and rear cameras in mine work fine without the ignition or turn signals on but like JaxDad I've never felt the need to use them except while driving.

RE: Class A creature comforts at FHU stays

Aqua Hot is great but if you don't cold weather camp there is very little advantage over a gas 10 gal. water heater' Macerator toilets are a big plus as is a residential fridge when temps are in the high 90's, they cool better when its very hot out. My roof a/c's are very quiet due to my ceiling design, ducted and covered with a ceiling cloud plus 2 speed fans.

RE: Questions About People's Knowledge Of Various Issues

The OP wants to go from a pop-up to a 30 foot class A so no matter which floor plan he chooses, he will still end up with a lot more space.

RE: Steering wheel vibration

I owned a coach built on an F-53 chassis. Never any vibration and handled as good as my Freightliner. Whoever is telling you they all vibrate, probably never drove one.

RE: Can you put diesel oil in a gas generator?

If you mean engine oil, the answer is yes.

RE: Advantages of diesel pushers

If you're into driving long distances, nothing beats a pusher for comfort. The best part for me is that the cab area is part of the house when we are set up. While it may be great to raise the hood to access a fuel filter, you still need to get under to do an oil change. Every coach has some trade-offs in certain things.

RE: Roof Air Conditioner removal

Why not find a business nearby, someone like a lumber yard and offer a few bucks to lift the new one up and the old one down? I have a fork lift at my shop and would lift one for free just to help someone out.

RE: Is there any difference in DRIVING a gas class A vs diesel?

Yes most diesels ride better than gas class A's but it because diesels are typically much heavier and often longer. I've owned both a gas a diesel that were within 4000 lbs in weight and while the diesel handled better, it was only slightly. My current coach is almost twice the weight of my previous gasser and it rides and handles far far better than the gas coach. There are a lot of reasons why a diesel rides better but I think the biggest reason is weight, same as with a car or truck or even a motorcycle.

RE: 2008 Tiffin Allegro BAY 37 QDB

I once owned a Newmar FRED. At idle it was a bit noisier than my second coach at idle (V-10) Fleetwood but climbing a hill the turbo was still quieter than the Ford during high Revs. A diesel with the radiator in front of it is a better design than behind for cooling but a lot louder when that turbo kicks in. All in all I think they a great chassis and mileage was much better.

RE: HWH customer service phone number is a joke

One would think a company with such a quality product and with the reasonably high cost for it could afford to hire one or two customer service people.

RE: My windshield nightmare.

The windshield should have been water tested by the installer right after replacement. Last year I had my windshield replaced at Winnebago and before they released the coach to me they did a pressure water test. Told me they do that after any window install. If there is a leak and the install needs to be redone the glass is less likely to break pulling it before the sealant is fully cured.

RE: when to use "econo mode" on Allison 5 speed tranny?

It is supposed to hold the gear longer to prevent constant hunting between 5th and 6th gear when highway driving on rolling hills and flat roads. Doesn't do anything for city or mountain driving. More or less holds the gear a little longer so it doesn't shift as often between the higher gears. I don't use it because it seems not to make a difference on my coach and it doesn't change my mileage
