RE: Boycott “No Campfires”

"Aliens teleport all the world's porcelain toilets to their deathstar, leaving nothing but exposed sewer pipes in the stalls." Oh Great! Now I have something else to worry about. Thanks for ruining my day. :SBoycott the Aliens!!! They are taking away our rights to poop in porcelain toilets! I'm going to find as many toilet forums as I can and spread the word! Join me!!Sounds like a lot of paper work.

RE: Places To dine

The mom and pop places are dying off replaced by fast food and chains. Some small towns still have restaurants that have home cooked food. On Wednesday's Romeo Riders pick a small town to ride to for lunch. Some are very good others mediocre. Where my seasonal is at there is a grocery store with a deli that still makes homemade food from fresh ingredients.

RE: Boycott “No Campfires”

California's have plenty of campfires going right now. I don't think they are enjoying them very much. I would think it would be better for a campground to have one communal bonfire of a evening away from the RV'S instead of a fire at each site.

RE: Boycott “No Campfires”

No Campfires..........PLEASE post those CGs Call them out We should start an ongoing list that gets updated frequently That way I can pick which ones I will partonize cause I hate campfires! Not so much hate them.....it's just there are MORE & More inept campers that do NOT know how to have a campfire. They think smoldering/smokey is good vs an actual fire And then they go inside! YEAH.CGs with NO Campfires. I like the conceptWhile I don't hate campfires I do agree with inept campers that not only burn wood but garbage and plastic. I to would not want a campfire in close quarter's next to my camper.

RE: Trailer Suspension Questions

Getting ready to do a upgrade on my project trailer. I plan to add rubber equalizers, wet bolt kit with bronze bushings, and shocks. I can't say if it's worth the money over stock but it makes me feel better. It's a long winter and I have plenty of time and the cost is minimal. I plan on taking the trailer on a several thousand mile trip to Alaska.

RE: Tuolumne Meadows Campgrounds is closed for the season.

Collie, yes, the Banff area is crowded. For good reason. This was taken from our campsite in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (not far from Banff) on a September morning, after a dusting of snow: https://i.imgur.com/zMe5AxHl.jpg "border=0" https://i.imgur.com/m3zZPvb.pngClick For Full-Size Image. So I would go, at least once. We've been there three times. And once you are on the trails, you will often be alone. Same for Yellowstone. Same for Yosemite. Very popular because they are great. Thanks do you recomend Peter Lougheed and how far out do you need a reservation?

I remember when the administrator would come up with a joke every once in a while.

And my little trailer (2500 lbs, fully loaded) could be pulled by a mountain bike. You're obviously more manly than me! :DOr have a extremely low first gear!

RE: Deceptive traffic citations

Speed Trap or not; if you are not exceeding the posted speed limit at the prescribed sign, then you will not get a ticket for speeding. The does not however negate the possibility of getting a ticket for not using a turn signal or whatever.Bull excrement, Dateline had a story on speed traps in Louisiana years ago. They had a Auditorium full of people that have been wrongly charged. Dateline set up a Lincoln with cameras on the speedometer along with several other cameras. Sure enough they were pulled over for speeding. I have never received a speeding ticket I did not deserve, that does not mean that others have not.

RE: Tuolumne Meadows Campgrounds is closed for the season.

The first time I seen Yosemite valley was in 1983 in the dead of winter. It was quite, hardly any people and very awesome. I went back a few years later during the summer and could not get out of there fast enough, wall to wall people. I have always wanted to go to Banff Canada but understand it's the same way of a summer.

RE: exhaust manifold leak

I would check with some other shops for a better price. For 2k I can get a Ford engine changed in a truck.

RE: When giving restaurant (or other venues) suggestions

I don't even look at restaurant reviews very much, I'm old school and look at the parking lot and by word of mouth. I search out the Mom and Pop places that still cook fresh food that's high quality (usually at a reasonable price). So many reviews can be manipulated .

RE: The "Goodbye Room"

As I said earlier I lost two but also added two Collie pups. Sawyer now 10 months old is teaching Sasha 12 weeks the ropes and entertaining her. Without Sawyer Sasha would be a handful. So glad Ben is taking a interest in Augie. The amount they can teach and entertain a pup is priceless. Try not to feel sadness when you see things that remind you of Jimmy.

RE: The "Goodbye Room"

So sorry to hear about Jimmy Lord I know how hard it is to do. I have had to do it twice this year. You gave Jimmy a wonderful life and what more can a dog ask for.

Like others said rocks are a vast improvement over garbage usually left behind.

RE: Upholstery needs to be redone

It would probably vary on the shop if they could remove the sofa (have room for the RV). Any upholstery shop should be able to redo it. They do sell RV sofas online that are larger size. I bought a LazyBoy RV sleeper sofa for a RV project I'm doing. The big question is whether your old sofa is made as one unit and has to be taken apart to get it out the door. LazyBoy the back comes off the sofa to get it through the door. If I didn't need a sleeper sofa I would have replaced with two comfortable recliners. I took out the uncomfortable jack-knife sofa and dinette and replaced with a LazyBoy sofa and recliner.

RE: What do you want in a campground?

I would say my needs varies, some times a quick overnight other times a destination campground and some times close proximity to where I need to be. I use Passport America for quick overnights, there usually in quite remote areas. If visiting family proximity is important in a campground. As for the campground good drainage, decent roads, no low tree's, adequate space, friendly staff, good water, good voltage, doesn't look like a grapes of wrath campground.

RE: Perils of RVing

TV antenna left up, lady points up to the roof while I'm driving, no harm done. Left the steps out while driving person honks and points at stairs, no harm done. Got ready to dump tanks had hose in sewer pulled handle and hose pops out of sewer, I made a mad dash to get it back in the hole before contents of black tank reach the end of sewer hose, no harm done. I know it's just a question of when not if it happens.
