RE: Any problems crossing the Laredo border going south lately?

Easy to get into Mexico. The problem is the quarantine when you come back. Which could be different than it is now.

RE: Question on buying a "prior salvage tilte" RV

If u are satisfied it is ‘fixed’ there is nr problem. Prior means prior. It would have to have been inspected to be on the road.

RE: WiFi Issues

Seems to me most people know the difference between their ISP and cellular provider. Both have the same problem. Bandwidth. At any RV park I have been to in the last few years the minimalistic plan the Park provides for Wifi only works well if you get up real early!

RE: WiFi Issues

My experience is that wireless gets pretty congested in the afternoon and evening. Also a mini peak in the morning. So it becomes impossible to watch anything. For the evening I started on buying old DVDs on line. Lots of places sell them some with free shipping

RE: Improving Fridge Cooling

Correct me if I'm wrong- I think a 12v fridge comes only in beer cooler sizes. Totally impractical to run an RV fridge on 12V alone. I do what you do. Electric if available, gas when I am moving or stopped for short periods. I find gas does not cool as well as 120v under the same conditions. David

RE: Improving Fridge Cooling

Mitch- as an aside do you find it is better to use propane vs electricity? I know there are many variables. Just your gut feel. I can run my hot water on either. I have used electricity. No moving parts for starters. David

RE: Running refrigerator on house battery, How long?

Depends if you are in Iowa in November or Florida in July. But you should be OK if you drive the vehicle daily.

RE: wifiranger Converge - Do you like it?

Extending the range on a congested wifi network will do nothing for your ability to download more data. Using your phone for data also diminishes with the number of users You need more bandwidth. Not always available. I signed up with the local telco.

RE: Commercial macerator or homemade from garbage disposer

A friend has a macerator on an Airstream. It is at ground level and the inlet is large diameter. I think their Airstreams has shower and bathroom sink plumbed through the black tank to provide plenty a liquids. Not sure if that is a common practice.

RE: Postal code

Get a US account from TD Bank a wholly owned subsidiary of TD. It may be BMO has the same. The code has to match the cc address on file. I use TD and it is painless.

RE: winterizing

The air going into your tank will pressurize it and hence backward up the lines to your various outlets(don't forget the outside shower!). When I do my air blowing in the fall I only open one outlet point at a time. I used 25 psi. I can feel the air come out. So I do not have the tank valves open at the same time as the kitchen faucet for example. I do the tanks last. I think you will be safe with this approach.
