If fan is running make sure the compressor is running.

RE: Air Conditioner shuts off when slide is in

This is the first I have heard of this problem. There is no reason for the A/C to do that unless the A/C is directly over roof when it is in and for some reason they have a interlock system installed.
Looking at the floor plan the a/c is directly about the slide when in. Also is the thermostat accessible when slide is in? Be strange for it not to be but they do strange things on rv’s.

RE: Life of AC?

First thing I would do is check the compressor capacitor. If that's bad it will cause a high amp draw trying to start. You would think the place you took it to would have check it but you never know.

RE: 4th of July - what are you having?

Had crappie-hushpuppy-coleslaw-potato salad-baked beans-chocolate cake - ice cream and sweet tea. Local caught crappie and everything else was home made.

RE: Grey water pump into portable waste tank

Get one of these. With my Dewalt 18v drill it will pump 5 1/2 gpm and will work pumping gray water. I use one to transfer fresh water from a tank in my truck bed into my RV holding tank. Works really well and cheap.Drill pump
Can you tell me why you want to put water INTO your holding tank?
Matt
Guess I should have said fresh water tank. The talk was about holding tanks and had that stuck in the old noggin.

RE: F-250 Needs New Shoes

Check out Falken's Wildpeak AT3W. I put a set on my Ram last fall and so far they're the best tire I've ever run. They fall somewhere on the aggressive AT end of the spectrum with great snow and offroad performance, but they seem to be wearing well and have really nice road manners too. I think I paid around $1000 installed or maybe just a bit more.
What he said. I’ve ran several different brand and will say the Falkens Wildpeak is the best tire I’ve ever ran. I do get a really good deal on tires because my son owns a automotive shop.

RE: Rear View Camera vs Backup Camera

Not all backup cameras are to be used as observation cameras. Some are not designed to be left on for extended times or the camera with burn out.

To calculate watts - multiplying the amps by the line voltage.

RE: Trouble keeping my cool!

Sounds like it may be low on freon. Check for dirty plugged condenser first if not that and compressor and fan is running its probably low on Freon.

RE: Problems with past RV Parks you've stayed at?

Loud outside TV's and Music
And becoming a bigger problem. Now with just about every RV having a outside entertainment center everyone gotta turn it up so everyone else hears it. Our only camp out this year had to ask the neighbor to turn it down. They were playing some modern rock music with really foul language
and that thump thump bass sound that vibrate!

RE: Questions on using a Dutch Oven

I wonder, instead of a parchment paper or foil liner, could the Reynolds cooking bags (like for turkeys) be used as a liner? A meal in a bag...
Don't see why not.

RE: Questions on using a Dutch Oven

Here's a tip. Use the dutch oven liners make cleaning a breeze. I wouldn't use them for years but the DW insisted I try them. She was right especially while camping.

RE: 20 year loan for RV?

I wouldn’t even get a 20 year loan on a home that hopefully, will increase in value.
So if that was the only way of owning a home I guess you would just rent and lose money that way or just live under a tree or maybe with parents supporting till you save up the money? Not everyone is born with a silver spoon!

RE: Should we be going?

Ok this is how it went. Friday loaded the rv with food stuff from the house (haven't been to the store in 3 weeks)and cloths. No need to stop for fuel-truck had a full tank that was fill over a month ago and the trip was only 50 miles one way. Pulled up by the office put window down-lady in office open her window. Told her who I was and reservation site and we went and set up at our site. Others showed up said hi but no hand shakes or hugs. Each couple ate there meals in there rv. We did sit around a camp fire each evening and took about a 5 mile hike Saturday early afternoon. Friday night got below freezing had a good frost on Saturday morning and started raining last night about 10pm on and off till 10am this morning. Packed up went and dumped (yes wore rubber gloves and washed hands good with soap afterwards. Headed home at 11am today without a stop. I would say we stayed pretty safe.
