RE: ISO a quiet place to go

Thanks. We were hoping for, but not expecting, a park somewhere that didn't allow fireworks. It looks like that isn't really available. So...looking at hotels now. A friend talked to me yesterday about the newest shooter's muffs. It's on my list to check out! thanks again

ISO a quiet place to go

I have a rare hearing condition called Hyperacusis. Way too sensitive to sound. Loud noise, sudden noises and certain frequencies are physically painful. July 4th is a nightmare. DH suggested "Ask the RV'ers for a good quiet place to go". We live in the Kansas City metro area. And thinking cooler areas. We don't have an RV at the moment and may rent one, but a nice park with cabins would be good too. Thanks! CTS

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

I haven't heard anything about break through cases with Pfizer. When did this come out? DH got Pfizer. I got Moderna.

Crowe.... have you ever attended a BBQ at a tropical resort and found they were cannibals? I shot right out of bed! LOL!

@covetsthesun - next chapter to this will be the worst delirium, You won this time, lol. ROTFL!

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Yup, the most difficult are not the body aches but the restless sleep and delirium. Mine even had a conspiracy theory angle (joked here) of putting chips into vaccination needles. LOL! Got ya beat. My delirium dream was cannibals at a tropical resort. I may never look at a palm tree the same.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

I have coworkers (30s-40s) who have experienced a range of symptoms that included some or all of 103-104 fevers, chills, uncontrollable shivering, body aches, headaches, and even delirium for about 24hrs. Thanks for reporting this. I had a rough go and maybe a little delirium...some pretty strange dreams?? I was so concerned for my son when he reported the uncontrollable shivering.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Thanks. I'm a bit concerned about him. He's 47, so in theory, getting knocked flat this much seems odd. I know some folks did have a rough go.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Update. I'm fine now...but my son had his 2nd moderna vax Tuesday and has had "kicked by a mule" and run over by a one ton truck side effects. Pretty similar to mine. Except he had uncontrollable chills and shakes. He's experiencing fatigue and some body aches and is sleeping a lot. It's still going on. Really knocked him down. He didn't expect that.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Update! Slept very well Thursday night and woke up Friday feeling normal. No brain fog, no aches (other than normal ones). Got most of my energy back and spent the day playing catch up. Wow. What an experience! It took longer to recover..but from what I read it's not unusual to experience SE's over a week. Glad to be back on track!

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Maybe here...but I have a friend who has been having a bit of rough time too. She's still having a few after effects too. I was fatigued, weak and sleeping a lot. She hasn't been able to sleep and has been chilled and sweats. We both got 2nd Modernas on Monday.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Quick update on 2nd Moderna vax side effects. Yesterday I thought I was past the worst...and probably was. Just felt a little tired and had a sore spot on my arm. Went out for a bit and someone pulled my plug and I crashed. Slept for 5 hours in my chair...got up went to bed and slept another 9 hours. The red place on my arm was gone this morning...but it started to itch and is now pinking up again. I'm still feeling a bit tired...not sick. Just a little tired. Got the vax on Monday morning.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Better today, just a bit tired. Same here. Better today. Still very tired and a little weak. A warm, red spot the size of a large egg showed up at the injection site late yesterday and is still there this morning. Thinking of putting Benedryl Gel on it. Probably will take it easy today.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

x2 The heated mattress pad is on high while I’m in bed. Counting down until I can take another dose of Tylenol. DH fixed chicken soup... it was wonderful! I can now walk without pain, but fatigued and weak still. I've been wrapped up in a heavy duty fleece blanket with fleece flannels. And a space heater aimed at me. Tylenol helped a little. Two friends got their 2nd Moderna yester day too. Nothing. Boggles the mind. Another friend and I have been texting back and forth periodically... you alive? Yep. You? Yep. We both got clobbered good. If this is side effects...I sure have a new respect for those who survived the virus.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

As my day progressed (today) it got worse. Chills, more fatigue...could barely move. I think maybe it's peaked...still have aches, headache but chills are gone. If I ever find the person who drove over me with a one ton...

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

I got my second dose yesterday afternoon. I felt fine until after dinner which gave me time to get chores done (unload 400# of sheep feed & 300# of sheep mineral, train my two working border collies, and take my 14.5yo border collie for her evening walk). By 8pm I was feeling run down. Over night I got a headache and body aches but no fever. I still ache this morning and am feeling very tired. I’m not in the geezer category but I am old enough to receive aarp membership mailings. I felt fine for about 6 hours after 2nd Moderna yesterday. Then it was profound fatigue, slight headache. By 9pm ache was worse all over. Got up at 1am took a tylenol...helped very little. Now at 7am... still fatigued and achy. Thank heaven I don't have sheep to take care of! Still better than the virus though.

Had 2nd dose Moderna this morning... 4 hours later feeling really, really tired. Headed to my soft cushy recliner for the duration. Hopefully this is the only thing. Need a nap anyway.

RE: High Miles??

I am not sure of your budget, but I would suggest that you look at a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle. You may also find a GMC Acadia or Buick Enclave as good fit. The Buicks had a longer warranty, and a certified provides a 1 year warranty and 100.000/6yr powertrain warranty (from initial delivery date). I saw some 2019 vehicles with 30k miles, that would give you another 70k through mid 2025. I really liked the Acadia that I took drove to Kansas and back in 5 days. Thank you!

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

DW is back to normal today. Her back is a little sore from the aching yesterday but other than that all is good. I am glad we got this over with as we will soon be travelling for a few months. Safe travels everyone. Glad to hear it! My 2nd dose is tomorrow...keeping my fingers crossed
