RE: Hwy84 near Pendleton, Oregon

I second Wildhorse Casino. or if you prefer more rustic - Emigrant Springs is gorgeous.

RE: Oregon coast- Hwy101

101 southbound is the best direction to enjoy the spectacular OR coast. BUT the campgrounds fill up very quickly. Two choices are suggested - make reservations NOW - if you can get them?? OR plan to travel in AM and stop in early afternoon and enjoy the ambience.

RE: Banff/Jasper July 2019

Dogs MUST be on a leash in the National Park. And NOT allowed on trails. Leave it home?

RE: Banff/Lake Louise/Jasper

We were there in July and the road between Banff and LL is a 4 lane highway and had minimal traffic. Once you get to the LL parking lot you'll hit the traffic jam. The roads close to LL are busy but were not blocked with traffic before then. But on the other hand the overflow camping area, which is on the side of that 4 lane road, was just about empty when we were there and someone reported it as being full above. That might depend on the time of week and it might fill up later in the day. From the distance it just looked like a parking lot to me. Sorry but you ( and most other posters here) missed the best. Highway 1A (Bow River Parkway) is by far the most scenic way (and the best chances to see wildlife) between Banff and lake Louise. Oh well - that leaves less traffic for those of us who use it!! Thanks. ex Banff N.P. Park Warden

RE: yuma or bust

Seems late in the year to be scouting winter quarters. Very helpful (not) run of the mouth!!

A great road. One of our favorites while we still had our fifth wheel.

RE: Kananaskis Country Trip Report

kavoom says " Oh, bears, moose, etc. everywhere. Bring bear spray. Just a note bear spray as sold in US is not legal in Canada as labelled. Buy in Canada for protection.

RE: Running lights on when camping, use a fuse & dimmer?

I really like the trick where you use a fuse on the plug to light up the running lights while camping. However think I would want to tone it down a bit. Any reason why a dimmer in line with the fuse would not work? And really p---- off your neighbors with those lights in the campground!! Me-Me!!

RE: rv parks

some Cal-am parks in Mesa AZ have such lots/rates for 'commuters'. Try Mesa Regal for instance.

RE: Tired of carrying 2x6 boards for levelling.

23 years of pulling fifth wheels! When we started I had 2 8ft 2x6s. Cut on on the diagonal ( to make two triangles. screwed the second onto the two triangle pieces to make a *ft (nominal) ramp. Leveler on the pin box, in view of rear view mirror told me which side was low. Place the ramp behind that wheel pair and backed on until the leveler said stop. Blocked the trailer up and set it up for easy living!!

RE: driving from death valley to monument valley (or vice versa)

October can be nice in DV or it can be very hot...November would be better. I tried March this year...105 at Stovepipe Wells and Furnace Creek that week. Nice answer?? Perhaps there is a language problem??
