RE: Things to do in Biloxi/Gulfport MS

Blow fly inn on back bay I think in dIberville. Great seafood and relaxing view of the bay. Several casinos in Biloxi/Gulfport area. And yes Buffet is back. He opened in the original area that he planned on opening but the first deal fell through. He then went to the back bay but not enough traffic. He is now beach front down on the east end across from what had been a Grand at one time. I believe the Blow Fly Inn in Gulfport was bought out by a fast food seafood restaurant from Biloxi....that's what they told us a cpl years back...C

RE: RV lot OWNERSHIP - deeded lot ownership, live year round

We own our on lot in Key Largo and our park is a "condominium Park" We winter here and summer in our home in the NC mountains. Our park is so nice it is next to impossible to get a place for sale here. We lucked out five years ago and even though we have no intentions of selling, our lots value has tripled in value. One thing to check on is the taxes. Where we are we just pay county property taxes on the land if the trailer stays on wheels and can be moved Like others have said, check all the rules, regulations and monthly maintenance fee and if your place is a desirable place, go for it Can we ask the Name of your park and where it is in Key Largo...if you don't mind giving out this info..Chuck Guy

RE: Interstate 91 to NH White Mountains

Hello all, We're taking a trip this July to the New Hampshire White Mountains. We live in Central PA. Has anyone traveled Interstate 91 through Massachusetts and Vermont? We have a 40 foot fifth wheel. Wondering how interstate 91 is....road condition?....steep elevations?....rest and fuel stops?....low bridges? Any advice would be appreciated!! Our plan is to stay at the Twin Mountains KOA off of US 302. Thank you!! While in NH,if you go toward Conway,go over the Kangusmagos Hwy....beautiful view...we went over with this 45 ft motorhome ,towing...

RE: Overnight location - 1/2 way to FL from MA

Ah to be young again. Last time I made it to Florida in one overnight was back in the early 80’s. Now it takes us at least 3 nights to get there but we’re no longer in a hurry. :B Daveis YEs,it's so nice taking 3 nights or even 4....but remember the time ,we had to drive...lol...C

RE: I-4 though Orlando

if looking to get around Orlando without driving through it try this. We take I4 to route 417 which is a by pass around Orlando, dumps out back on I4 west of Orlando. It is a toll road but not bad. Highly recommend getting a sunpass for tolls once in florida. I second this idea.....it's how we get around Orlando

RE: Coach net vs FMCA road side assist

Currently we have Coachnet. Fortunately, never had to use. It's time to renew and I see that FMCA offers a plan that is cheaper. Has any one used the FMCA? Is it on par with Coachnet? We have CN and it has been ok the few time I used them, but has been a few years The Real Problem ,in my opinion is ,that with any program that FMCA offers....You Never Know Just How Long It will Be with That Vendor They negotiate and sign up a Vendor ,now..you sign with the one they endorse, then they drop that vendor and move to another....based on Price, but it certainly does not help the people that moved to their First choice...C

RE: Louisiana to Hershey, Pa. Which Route????

I will be heading to Hershey, PA. the first week of Oct. Looking at Goggle Maps it has me going I-81. I'm sure it's good road just not sure how much if any of the mountains I will encounter. Pulling a 38' camper through mountains does not appeal to me. Don't mind some but not a bunch of up and down and switchbacks. Any one travel this way and have ideas or suggestions? Also looking for a couple of overnight stops about 450-500 from La and then another 375-425 from there before getting to Hershey. Thanks for any and all suggestions Todd Todd,I-81 is an excellent interstate to travel on....some trucks but no big deal Like I'M have said...stop at the Flying J in Winchester, cheapest fuel ..Pa is much higher....also in West Va ...exit 23....is Falling Waters campground....decent place to stay Not sure of how your mileage plays out.....but exit 80 off 81 there is Ft Chiswell campground...excellent overnight stop ,all pull thrus.....and then Lexington,Va...exit 195 is Lee Hi Campground behind a truck stop..but a really nice overnight stop.....but you have to determine which of the 3 fit into your mileage....C

RE: North Carolina to Connecticut

Thanks!, This will be our first trip thats over 300 miles, and I want it to be as stress free as possible!LOL Just think of this longer trip as a series of shorter trips, each under 300 miles, strung together end to end. That's all it is, really. There's no need to stress because you're crossing more state lines over the course of more days. Ready, here we go .....up 95 into Va.....take Rt 17 north toward Warrenton,Va...stay on 17 north ,take by pass around Warrenton heading to I -66 toward Winchester,Va....66 for 25 miles right up to I-81 ......stay on 81 into Pa....Can stay at Western Village in Carlisle,Pa....from 81 pass Harrisburg,Pa take I-78 to I-287 NORTH...you are on 287 for 45 miles to Suffern...take I-87 NORTH FOR about 34 miles to Newburgh,NY go I-84 East into Connecticut, straight into Hartford.....Best Route I've found...for traffic and road conditions.....C Any question feel free to reach out...C Maybe $17.00 + or- a few $$....tolls on 87 North and Newburgh Bridge.....C ????????

RE: TSD Diesel Fuel Discount Program

We are traveling today and and stopped in Connecticut for fuel the Pilot price was $3.65 a gallon and the Citgo truck stop right next door was $2.99 a gallon they had the big fuel nozzles and fast flow pumps. It makes no sense to me to pay the higher price. I have a 39 foot MH towing a toad and didn't have any issues getting in or out. I use gas buddy to find the prices. JD620.....the first thing you did wrong is stop in Connecticut for fuel.....New Jersey and Mass much cheaper than the Gold Coast Connecticut.....you were probably in Milford on I-95 and could have saved some $$'s In Branford @ the T/A....but who knows..having some fun with ya..Safe Travels P.S. I never fuel up in Connecticut.....C

RE: Columbus Day Weekend, Cape Cod

Hi everyone We usually go just after Labor day and stay at Atlantic Oaks. We were thinking of changing our plans to Columbus Day weekend maybe this or next year,... So how are the beaches? are they still open? Most of the time we will go to Marconi beach, Coast Guard or Nauset Beach and on the bay side First Encounter beach... bathrooms still be open? (we don't have to swim but wondering what might the weather be at that time of year) How about famous Arnolds will they still be open? Also thinking of taking the ferry to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard for some shopping. Just trying to get a general idea on what might be open or closed. Mike We have stayed at Atlantic Oaks when Arnold's has been closed,so we went up the road at the urging of another person to Moby Dick's....granted,a little farther drive.....but found the food to be the same or a little better maybe...BUT one thing....they take Credit Cards.....which,for me,is better... We HAVE NOT been back to Arnold's sincr,in 3 years...C Mike

RE: Florida Keys RV Parks in Winter

Do RV parks in Florida require you to stay a min. of 30 days? We're newbies. We just purchased our first 5th wheel and are planning to winter (Jan-Feb 2020) in Florida. We joined Good Sam and started looking for parks to book. We wanted to stay in the keys for 1-2 weeks. From looking at the list of parks on Good Sam they only seem to offer 30 rentals. Are there parks with weekly rates in winter? We'd like to spend a week in Daytona, 1-2 weeks in Miami, 1-2 weeks in the keys, 1-2 weeks in Ft. Meyers, 1-2 weeks in Tampa, 1-2 weeks in Panama Beach. What about COE/BLM or Nat'l parks? We'd appreciate any input and ideas from more seasoned campers. Thanks Vicke and John We go to the Keys ,You can figure on paying in the area of $4000.00 a month, that is if you can find an opening ...C

RE: PA to Disney Route Suggestions

So just as an update, we just got home today. Great trip and had excellent weather! On the way down, we left around 6pm Friday night, we headed west and took 81 but cut back over to 95 north of Richmond and ran 95 the rest of the way. I hated every minute of the 95 portion. Traffic north of Richmond was terrible and even after spending the night in that area and leaving again saturday morning we hit jam after jam on 95. Wasted a few hours easily sitting in traffic! Coming home we took the 77 through Charolette to 81 route, and while the GPS says that is 1 hr longer, that is the only way I will go from now on. I already know the mess 95 is in Philly and DC but figured it would get better south. We travelled 81 north for our stop over spot last night outside Charolette and it was a breeze, not to mention much nicer scenery and views of the mountains. Definitely the way I will go in the future. Thanks again all! I would have given you this Route....it was my FIRST choice...but you stated you were not quite sure you wanted to tackle the "mountains" first time towing your trailer..which I can understand...Sorry....and I also completely forgot it was Easter week and all the traffic....C
