RE: flex tape

I, too, have used Eternabond in the past with very good results. I, personally, would rather use the Eternabond on a rubber roof. I have never had much luck with any of the Flex Seal products.

RE: Streak remover

I like the Wash Wax All, but to get the streaks and bugs off, before the Wash Wax All, I use a Magic Eraser first. I've used them for years on fifth wheels and, before that, motorhomes and have never had a problem.

RE: Ram 1500 Long Tow Experience

Do you remember what towing was like 30 years ago? It's hard to believe how far (all) the manufacturers have come. Glad you had a good experience. It would be heartbreaking after spending all that money, if you weren't happy.

RE: Tonneau covers that don’t leak

I had a Retrax cover ( www.retrax.com ) on my 05 and 16 F-350's (same cover on both) and never saw any moisture at all in the box. Ford offers a clone of the cover and I ordered one on my new truck. This one stays dry, also. I was very happy with my Retrax and I highly recommend them.

Campgrounds that are open all year

We are planning to snowbird, in Florida, this winter for 4 - 6 weeks, depending on the status of COVID. What I am looking for are campgrounds, along the way, that are open year around. I have a sister-in-law in the Gettysburg PA / Frederick MD area, that we would like to visit on the way down and back. (I vaguely remember a campground in the Hagerstown area that used to be open all year.) Maybe another campground in the Carolina's to spend a few days to break up the trip. I realize the further south we go, the easier it should be to find campgrounds open. My question is, how can I find campgrounds in those areas that are open all year? Is there a website for year around campgrounds? Does anyone have recommendations? (Thanks in advance !)

RE: Honda 2000i generator amps surging up and down

One of my EU2000i's surges under very light load. Try increasing your electrical load or taking it off Eco mode. I often use a "smart" battery charger to charge faster and increase the electrical load to eliminate the surging.

RE: New Truck!!

I'm starting to remember why I stopped being as proactive on this forum, People kept getting off topic ETC. Moderator you can close this post! I agree 100%. I was inactive for years because of people that brag about their stuff being the only way to do things and belittling anyone that offered a different opinion. Thinking seriously of leaving again. It seems that little or nothing has changed. It's a shame because the majority of participants have a lot to offer !!! Also, my apologies Wills6.4 Hemi, for being part of getting this post off topic. Congratulations on the new truck !!!

RE: New Truck!!

I guess we should all drive Fiat trucks with a B&W hitch...

RE: New Truck!!

I have never had a B&W, but I hear good things about them. I had a Reese 16k slider before I bought my 2016 F-350 with the pucks. It was new in 1998 and a good hitch. The guy I sold it to is still using it. I don't know why you would say the CURT is not user friendly. I love the fact that I can pull the head off it in seconds and lift it in and out of the truck in two pieces. I also love the color coding that shows if the hitch is locked. Actually, there is nothing about it that I don't like.

I'm sure the Companion is a great hitch, but I love my 24K CURT

RE: Elite Membership don't mean squat!

Have you tried a local HVAC guy? Quite a few years ago, I had a problem with an AC on my fifth wheel and I called a local guy. I told him I could take it to his shop, but he preferred to come to me. He fixed it and at a very reasonable cost.

RE: GRRR Ford Dealer - 2022 SD

Don't be so quick to throw the salesman under the bus. Orders are not placed by the salespeople -- they're placed by management. A little common sense tells you that a salesman doesn't get paid until the vehicle is delivered, so where's his incentive to see that it goes anywhere but to his retail buyer? I notice on this forum that people jump on salesmen a lot, and deem them mostly dishonest. Spending 30 years in the automobile business prior to retiring and going into Real Estate in 2012 showed me otherwise. What's your impression of realtor honesty? My daughter has a low opinion. She has had bad experience after bad experience with realtors. On her recent home purchase the realtor and inspector seemed to be in cahoots and tried everything possible to get her to sign a new contract with less advantageous terms than the one already in place. And now she's found additional rain damage from the bad roof (it was sold as is) that the inspector didn't "find."You do realize that a realtor doesn't work for the buyer right? They work for the seller who pays themfrom the sale proceeds, and signed a contract with them, before any buyer is even on the scene. You need to educate yourself. Have you ever heard of a "buyer's agent"? A Realtor can act in a capacity for a buyer OR a seller. As a buyer's agent, the Realtor represents the buyer's interests exclusively. There, your lesson for the day. You're welcome:C ... for a price !

RE: GRRR Ford Dealer - 2022 SD

Feel for you and hope you have a signed contract that also lists a deposit. Some dealerships will hold the deposit until it arrives, or some will cash it as soon as possible…that would hurt their case in front of any authority These things are reported all the time and is partially due to uneducated buyer who hasn’t taken the time to learn enough (so they take advantage of them all the time)…but…you are NOT that type from reading your posts over the years.. Wish you the best and won’t have to resort to agency intervention (BBB, State/County legal because you have a contract, etc) and finally bad PR through your local news stations Good luck ! I have NEVER had to make a deposit on any new vehicle I have ordered.

RE: GRRR Ford Dealer - 2022 SD

Well, if you have not put any money down then, screaming or escalating at the dealer may not work out so well for you. Sometimes things go crazy on the net. It’s probably just someone who made an honest mistake... going to the dealer and blowing up about it if you plan to ... won’t do anything... just go in a try to hear everything out.. yes if someone deliberately did you wrong then you should be upset, if it’s just a fluke and nobody screwed you over then don’t be upset when it can be fixed... I don’t get why things have to be escalated when it may just be an honest mistake... breath .... I think the issue is that it may not be fixable. The op put in an order three months ago at an agreed price and now it appears that he either has to start the whole process over with a new delivery and price or take a truck that is not what he wanted. Personally, if I ordered a truck and they changed anything from my original order without consulting me, that would be a deal breaker for me. I would think that anyone that goes to the bother of ordering a truck has given a lot of thought, and research, to what they want and don't want. If you are going to settle for less, you may as well buy from dealer inventory.

RE: 2022 Superduty launch delayed

...I just looked up the email from the General Manager at the Ford dealer from when I ordered my truck. I was wrong when I told you that I ordered in mid-February. I ordered my truck on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 11 AM.I picked it up on Tuesday, March 20. As I said, it was actually at the Ford dealer sometime the week before, but I was out of town. I guess my question is why my truck took a little less than two months and you ordered in early December and you still haven't received your truck? I am guessing that Ford has a vehicle allocation process that allocates orders to dealers. Even if the dealer has a sold order, it will not be accepted into the system. That's what I was told about my 2022 order. Dealer has several allocations for their own spec, so he put my order in as one of theirs spec'd the way I want it. It got me a place in line because they could put the order in to save my spot sooner but allowed me to finetune options for a while before the order was actually placed. Now thinking I won't see the truck until late fall, maybe even next year the way things are going. I guess different dealers tell different stories. The local dealer that I buy from is a small dealer. I deal with the general manager when I (we) buy vehicles. He tells me that customer ordered vehicles have priority over vehicles ordered for dealer stock. I had planned to order in March for May delivery (after the chance of snow). In January, I received a $2500 off coupon on a new vehicle, that expired April 30. I was also able to get an X Plan number, so I decided to go ahead and order. Part of the deal was a set of Ford fitted floor mats (Weather Tech style). The mats came in after the truck. When I picked up the mats, the dealer told me that if I had waited 2 weeks later to order, I probably wouldn't have got the truck for months (probably fall).

RE: GRRR Ford Dealer - 2022 SD

At this point, if they can get a truck in (any truck), they have people standing in line to get it. I ordered my truck in late January and took delivery May 20. It was in a few days before, but I was out of town. The dealer told me a guy offered them a significant amount more than I paid for it, when it was sitting on the lot.

RE: Quiet series generator 9500 watts!!!

I used to say that I was an RV generator expert, not because if my vast knowledge about generators, but I have made just about every mistake that I could make and it has cost me a lot of money making those mistakes. A bunch of those mistakes involved buying generators that were too loud to use while camping. If you think 67 db. is acceptable, you are going to learn an expensive lesson. Try listening to one of these open frame Honda 3000 watt generator that is 65 db. at rated load or this open frame Honda 6500 watt generator that is rated at 67db. at rated load. I don't think it will take long before you concede that 67 db. is too loud for camping. As I posted on another thread recently, I was in a local Harbor Freight a couple weeks ago and I was looking at the generators. When I questioned the clerk about parts, he basically told me that they don't stock a single part for their generators, not even a spark plug. You get what you pay for. You will pay more for a Honda or Yamaha, but will get have a network of dealers that stock parts and provide service.

RE: Streak remover

The front of my 5er was still covered with Az. bug carcasses from last Dec.. I used a pressure washer to remove most of them and then I went in the house and found a Magic Eraser. NOTHING has ever worked faster or easier and it did no damage... just let the critters presoak a while. Then I went down the side and instantly removed all the black road splatter and grimy streaks. Any rough scrubbing will remove the wax but us RVers love to wax our second homes! Right? Craig Every time I use Magic Erasers, they amaze me !
