All ready to go

Just got the motorhome back from the garage, oil change/ filters and a seal in the transmission. We are taking it camping tomorrow for a couple days, we will do several short trips getting ready to do the west coast this spring and summer.

RE: RoadTrek 200

We down sized from a 40ft American Eagle to a 2006 Roadtrek with a sprinter model powered by Mercedes diesel. I am 6'3" and find sleeping to be a challenge some times but, overall very comfortable and easy to drive. Almost like a sports car. We averaged 22 mpg on a 5000+ mile this summer. Try them till you find one you can enjoy. John

I am amazed!

We got back from a 5700+ mile vacation drive from Texas to Georgia, to Rhode Island, to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. I kept track of the fuel we used and we were very pleased with averaging over the full trip at 20 MPG! We have had RV's for about 20 years Travel Trailers, Gas and Diesel powered motor homes but this one gave us everything we asked. And it even works as a daily driver. Can't wait until the next vacation.

RE: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

I had to charge the battery, it had set for a week with no action so I charged it up and got it ready to go camping.

RE: Down to Road trek?

We have the same problem. getting older is not for wimps! We have been on the road for about 20 years mostly in class A rigs. Our last one was a 40 ft American Eagle but we started having some health problem and decided to try apartment living for a while to get well. We got well and didn't enjoy apartment living and if we wanted to go on a trip we had to use motels and restaurants. We now have a 2006 22 ft Trek and are enjoying the 20+MPG at the speed limit. The bathroom is small...... we still try to stay at campgrounds so we can use their toilet facility. Sleeping in the Trek is very comfortable. My wife does the cooking and is enjoying our new life style.

RE: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

Shake down went wonderful. Everything in '11' worked great....there was one problem on the way home it,rained and the drivers side windshield wiper worked fine going up but when going down the wiper blade would jump and not wipe the rain off. After getting home we discovered the arm was bent just enough to cause the blade to jump and not wipe the rain off. A couple Cresent wrenches is all it took to bend the wiper arm back to where it was supposed to be and now just waiting for the next rain shower.

RE: Real small motor homes; value?

We gave up the full time life a year ago due to some health problems, moved into an apartment, sold the 40 ft American Eagle. Now the most of the health problems have left us so we went shopping for our 11th rv and came up with a 2006 Roadtrek Freightliner Sprinter Van that had everything any of our last 10 rvs had and is easier to park and gets better fuel mileage. It also takes less than 2 hours to wax! We did try a couple motel/restaurant trips but they were not the same.

We are getting our New to US Roadtrek ready for a shake down 3 day camp out to make sure everything works so when we head to RI, MA, NH, ME and some of VT trip. This will be our first trip in a 22 foot MH. Wife says it drives like a Pick-up.

RE: Fresh water system

I have had to replace my water pump because of leaking valves allowing city water to flow back into the holding tank and leak out the gravity fill.
