RE: ~11K difference between same trailers...

Find out what the MSRP is and start the negotiations at 35% off. Most dealers are at 30% off. However right now with a very low supply of RV's everywhere, be prepared to pay more than that 30% off. That 30% off is only valid for RV's not TT's you will never get 30% off a TT unless its a year or two old. I have bought a few TT over the years and received at least 30% off on each one(brand new). My current trailer was only one month from production date when purchased and received 34% off of the manufacturer's price list received directly from the factory by asking them. They are out there if you look

RE: Checking on Wheel Bearing Heat

I use the TST TPMS and it is reliable. I am also a creature of habit and still check with IR thermometer as part of my walk around at each stop. A few extra seconds for safety is not a bad thing.

RE: Leaving dog at campsite

We also have video with sound monitors. We leave the tv on low and our dogs go lay down and sleep while we are gone. Only time they have barked was when someone knocked on our door and they got quiet fairly quickly afterward. We do not leave them for long periods and would never leave them outside without us nearby(too many bad things can happen).

RE: Walt Disney/Universal since Covid re-opening

Well, Universal cancelled Halloween Horror Nights today. One more event gone for the Fall. Even less reason to go to the Orlando area for the parks.

RE: Walt Disney/Universal since Covid re-opening

We have reservations late Sept/early Oct. We are watching closely how things are progressing. Relatives and friends both tell us that the news is alarming but they have not been affected or know anyone that has been in their areas of Florida(panhandle and Orlando areas). Luckily with the way reservations are handled by Disney, we have until 5 days before we are to arrive to cancel without a charge. It might be enjoyable to visit the parks with such low crowds and waits. Disney is the big player but Universal opened first and there have been no stories that it has had any problems. Universal has even kept their Halloween celebration(Horror Nights) on track where Disney cancelled theirs(Not So Scary Mickey Halloween).

RE: Walt Disney/Universal since Covid re-opening

Why put yourself in harms way for a few rides? https://www.orlandoweekly.com/Blogs/archives/2019/09/23/walt-disney-world-axes-orlando-performers-as-prices-rise-and-attendance-lags You do know the article you linked is almost a year old(Sept 2019). On most of the blogs, they are citing low attendance and low wait times. The biggest issue that has been reported concerns the new reservation system for tickets and entry dates. Do a lot of study of both before making a decision. As someone who has gone many times over the years, I was surprised that I can still get reservations at the campground(Ft. Wilderness)for many upcoming dates.

RE: Cruise America's Extended Warranty Service Agreements

I always liked the statement: Behold the warranty... the BOLD print giveth and the fine print taketh away! Read carefully the list of covered and non-covered items and be aware that many will not cover a part that was listed as covered if a non-covered part was responsible for the failure.

RE: is forest river rockwood mini2506s a good buy

Check out the Forest River Owners Group forum and do a search for the model number. There should be many posts concerning the unit good or bad.

RE: 2019 Dodge Durango with tow package? am I making a mistake?

I have a 2006 Durango and used it for a tow vehicle for many years(still have it for daily driving). Its cargo sticker is 1910 and served us well. We were looking for a new tow vehicle starting in 2018 and went straight to a Durango because we really liked the ride and dependability. Unfortunately they changed the Durango and every one we looked at had a cargo sticker of 1500 or less. We upgraded to a F250 with a cargo of 3120 which will serve us very well currently and any possible upgrades in what we like to tow.

RE: Do you leave MH plugged in for power at home?

I keep mine plugged in and the A/C on at a high level during summer to limit the interior temps and have heaters during winter to keep from having low temps(although this year never needed them). Also keep water in toilet to keep seal from drying out.

RE: Fishing Bridge Reservations for Fall 2021

Fishing bridge is closed until 2021. Below is an excerpt from my cancellation letter for my reservation this year. I received it this Wednesday the 3rd of June "". Most Xanterra-operated campgrounds will begin a phased opening starting on June 15. However, we have had to postpone the scheduled renovations at the Fishing Bridge RV Park, and therefore will be unable to open it this summer. With renovation work now scheduled for completion in 2021, we anticipate opening the Fishing Bridge RV Park again next fall. If you still wish to visit Yellowstone this summer, can be flexible with your plans, and do not require hook-ups, we encourage you to consider rebooking into one of the other in-park campgrounds available after June 15."" They said reservations can be made starting June 8 for next year

RE: Traveling substitute teacher in retirement?

Many if not all districts in Texas require substitutes to have some college with many requiring degrees and Texas certification. They require background checks and fingerprinting. Based on what I have been told by my fellow educators in many states this is the same in most. I would imagine areas with serious shortages may have easier requirements.

RE: Considering GoodSam Roadside...Questions

Almost all the roadside services say they tow "to the nearest qualified servicer". They do not have a list that I am aware of since it usually changes due to availability. They will let you specify a location but will usually charge you for the difference. I have had good luck with GS Roadside, three times and no issues.

Yellowstone Lodges and Campgrounds to open in June

I just received an email about Yellowstone opening excerpt from email: Given the ongoing and ever stricter guidelines from the CDC, WHO, as well as federal and state governments to limit gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our operations through Sunday, June 14. We regret that this situation has resulted in the necessity to cancel all lodging and tour reservations for stays through June 14, 2020, but based on present conditions, we are currently scheduled to reopen between June 15 and 19, 2020. When we reopen beginning on June 15, to comply with the local health guidelines, our operations will be limited. Lodging options will be limited to cabins with private bathrooms. This means that only Frontier Cabins, Western Cabins, and Cottages will be open at Old Faithful, Canyon, Mammoth, and Lake areas. All Xanterra-operated campgrounds except Fishing Bridge RV Park will also be open this summer. There will also be limited food services, tours and activities, and gift shops. More information on available lodging, campgrounds, and services for Summer 2020 can be found here. That makes us rethink our plans:(
