RE: Traveling substitute teacher in retirement?

Many if not all districts in Texas require substitutes to have some college with many requiring degrees and Texas certification. They require background checks and fingerprinting. Based on what I have been told by my fellow educators in many states this is the same in most. I would imagine areas with serious shortages may have easier requirements.

RE: Considering GoodSam Roadside...Questions

Almost all the roadside services say they tow "to the nearest qualified servicer". They do not have a list that I am aware of since it usually changes due to availability. They will let you specify a location but will usually charge you for the difference. I have had good luck with GS Roadside, three times and no issues.

Yellowstone Lodges and Campgrounds to open in June

I just received an email about Yellowstone opening excerpt from email: Given the ongoing and ever stricter guidelines from the CDC, WHO, as well as federal and state governments to limit gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our operations through Sunday, June 14. We regret that this situation has resulted in the necessity to cancel all lodging and tour reservations for stays through June 14, 2020, but based on present conditions, we are currently scheduled to reopen between June 15 and 19, 2020. When we reopen beginning on June 15, to comply with the local health guidelines, our operations will be limited. Lodging options will be limited to cabins with private bathrooms. This means that only Frontier Cabins, Western Cabins, and Cottages will be open at Old Faithful, Canyon, Mammoth, and Lake areas. All Xanterra-operated campgrounds except Fishing Bridge RV Park will also be open this summer. There will also be limited food services, tours and activities, and gift shops. More information on available lodging, campgrounds, and services for Summer 2020 can be found here. That makes us rethink our plans:(

RE: How do I delete my account?

Make sure it is not a spam message. One of the tricks is to send a bogus email claiming password is hacked and getting you to give info.

RE: Combined home computers reach exaflop levels

Here is a list of all the distributed computer projects out there. List of Distributed Computer Projects You can see there are many out there working on many different projects in physics, medicine, chemistry, astronomy and other sciences. It also contains a list of projects which were completed or shut down. There are a limited number of so-called super-computers and it would be impossible for all this research to be carried out on them alone.

RE: Combined home computers reach exaflop levels

[email protected] and [email protected] are very well known and respected distributed computer systems. They are very powerful and have more computing capability than many of the supercomputers around. Distributed computing is scalable, allowing it to change easily for the task. Supercomputers, once built, are very difficult to reconfigure. I have participated in some distributed computer projects and the benefits to research are tremendous. Bitcoin and other virtual currencies are an example of distributed computing(cloud computing).

RE: Can't Send Group eMails

The error can mean you have run up against a block for administrative purposes. Some email servers will block certain incoming email for reasons they have enacted to prevent spam. Other possible cause is the address was not correct and rejected. You can fix the address but you can not get around the remote block. See if the text of the return message gives you more info as to the reason. Most of the ones I have received were due to email blocking by the host server.

RE: Invalid VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)

I found a VIN decoder for trailers that work with my 5ver VIN. Try this and see what you come up with. http://cmvid.nisrinc.com/CMV_ID/CMV_ID.asp That web tool identified it as a 2014 Lifestyle RV. Interesting I tried the tool and it identified my trailer as a Rockwood Yamaha Motorcycle. Weird:S

RE: Stabilizer Jacks

I just sold my old travel trailer and am in the process of trying to buy a Rockwood 2608 BS. One of the options is electric stabilizer jacks. I have no experience with them. I'm 78 and still find the standard crank up jacks on the four corners easy to operate but would like to hear from someone who has this option. Are they easy to use and worth the extra money? I have the 2608BSD. The jacks are great and easy to use. Just remember that they are for stabilization, not leveling. If you force them to try to level they will break and give you a new set of problems to deal with.

RE: Camping World/The Profit

If the unit had prior warranty work done on it for whatever part and the part malfunctioned again warranty will kick it back because it was already done. Think about it. Why would a brand new RV on the lot need any warranty work on it???? Actually not true. While under the warranty period the item would be covered no matter how many times it failed. As to why it would need warranty work; parts fail even new ones. After bouncing around who knows where a flaky new part fails and needs replacing. The dealer does it before sale(which would be unusual but I guess it happens) to make it ready for sale.

RE: membership extension offer

Cable companies, cell phone companies, gyms, insurance, and a host of other companies and associations play the "introductory" plan game. If this is the only thing that bothers you about GS then I would consider you fortunate. This model of membership is everywhere and it isn't going anywhere. It has proven itself over the years as effective with many members renewing without even considering the increase. The renewing members either think it is still "worth it" or they just don't realize the change. Wait until you get the "automatic" renewal terms that some require.

RE: Morryde Step Above

Love the solid feel and the handrail. Would definitely get them again. Ours came with a lift assist shock and you can lift it or lower it with very little effort.

RE: Great new electrical connectors

I have used the In-Sure connectors for a while now for low voltage and electrical connections. They have worked perfectly in all situations so far. They hold tightly and are so easy to use. I have just recently started experimenting with the WAGO Lever-Nuts and so far have nothing but good things to say about them. You can go on WAGOs website and request samples if you want to play around with them. The one thing I like best is being able to see the connection and know it is completely made between the wire and device.

RE: Fort Wilderness Trip Planned

fortfiends.net(spelled correct) Link Reserve the cart now, there may not be any available the day you arrive. Do the online check in and show up early. Even if you can not get in when you arrive, they have overflow parking to go to and you can leave it there and go on into the parks or enjoy other activities until they notify which site.
