RE: Camping around Christmas time

RV camping at Disney World’s Fort Wilderness at Christmas time! Agreed but it is probably too late for this season to get anything.

RE: Gettysburg

When we went to Gettysburg this summer ,we camped near Gettysburg and then day tripped out to the various parks. Most are a short drive and we could take our time at each then return to our site.

RE: ? Disney Ft Wilderness (& Fishing)

Spending an April week at Disney's Fort Wilderness. Looking for any & all comments about the campground itself. We're not doing any of the parks, no interest in them at all, have more than a lifetime worth experience at them. Also any comments regarding non-guided fishing at Disney. Florida license needed for fishing the canals or lakes/ponds? We'll spend the fishing money on the Gulf and the Atlantic (half day on each). There is a lot of fishing available but they control it. All fishing is catch and release. Here is their page on it: Fishing at Disney

RE: I-10 in Louisiana

I-10 in Baton Rouge can be very bad. Don't get there during or close to rush hours. I-10 also has the Atchafalaya Bridge which is long and a little rough but the main concern is if they have a wreck, you will be stuck for a long time or a long detour. Watch the traffic reports. I-20 is bad in Shreveport. Use the loop. I-20 has a lot of washboard areas but not too bad. I-20 There was construction around the Texas/La line back in June. Do not know if completed or not.

RE: Should I put my Mobley SIM in another hotspot when parked?

There are many adapters available to use the Mobley outside the vehicle. You can get ones that work off of USB (5v to 12v)or a 120v converted to 12v. Just do a search on Amazon or other sites for Mobley power adapter. That way you don't have to remove it. If you just want to use another device a NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem works with the sim card found in the Mobley. I have used it without problems.

RE: Phone/email question

The IMAP is the protocol used by your email account to send/receive mail. This protocol allows for the messages to stay on the server after being read to recall at a later time if needed. The log in request probably means the email servers are having issues with the log in request. Contact your account provider to find out if they are having problems. If they report no problems it may be time to change passwords to protect yourself.

RE: Confessions of an RV Salesman

Looks like someone took all the gripes people have about salespeople and molded it for the RV industry and published. Wouldn't surprise me that they will soon publish articles about cars , homes and any other sales occupation. As said before click bait.

RE: Equal-izer Hitch Bars

Hey guys Will be getting a new Imagine 2800BH next year and looking into getting a Equal-i-zer Hitch I did the hitch size calculator on their website and it is telling me to get the 1400 lb version. GTW - 7995 lbs Tongue weight - Dry 604 lbs - Rough actual - 13% is 1039 lbs Cargo weight in bed of truck - 400 lbs Truck hitch says max is 1250 lbs is 1400 lbs bars to stiff or should I go with the 1200 lb version All figures are estimates but close When I moved to my current trailer, I contacted Equal-i-zer on the question of which hitch. I was using a 1/10 and would need to go to at least the 12/12. The rep said there would be no downside to going to the 14/14 vs the 12/12. I am glad I went with the 14/14, as now I won't have to replace hitch if I go a little heavier with the next trailer. It has performed great.

RE: iRV AM-FM iRV 34 radio problem

I have a 2016 Arctic Fox 25Y Travel Trailer that has the iRV AM-FM iRV-34 radio in it and is giving me problems. Most of the time after it has been sitting for awhile, and sometimes even when we have been using it, it will not start with the remote or with the switch on the radio. The switch has a light on, so it appears to be getting power. I found the 20 amp fuse, and if I remove it and put it back in, it gives a little spark and will work most of the time after. I replaced it with a new fuse, and no change. But the switch on the radio always shows power is getting there at all times. I put some Ox-Gard on the fuse, an aluminum wire antioxidant and that didn't help. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks for the help. Mike Contact IRV iRV Support Contact: Nelson Arzadon Work: 574-970-8348 Mobile: 574-850-6334 Email: [email protected] or [email protected] I had a irv66 that was causing problems and they helped out quickly and solved my problem.

RE: Replacing built in CO/LP detector

Although mine has past the expiration date I check it's operation every year and since it is still functioning I leave it in place. I've also installed an additional battery operated detector so I have two detectors running at all times. Why discard the functioning unit? Lou 05 Travel Supreme Envoy You don't really know if it is functioning perfectly. They are not that expensive; why chance it.

RE: Windows update before hell freezes over

One thing some people have overlooked is the sharing that Windows does. Go to Update and Security in settings and check to see what options are allowed. I turned off Delivery Optimization to clear any data sharing back to other PCs. This is something to check on a regular basis as it has been known to "mysteriously" turn back on by itself. Allowing sharing can seriously degrade the update process in some cases. You can also check how much Microsoft has sent by looking at the activity monitor ( last line) on the optimization page.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness Site selection and other questions

Get the app "sites at the fort". It has pictures of all the sites and info on how easy to get into. Also, check out a lot of good info there. The best loops depend on what you want to do and how close you want to be to certain activities. The earlier you arrive the easier it is to change your site. If you arrive too early they put you in overflow and notify you when your site is ready. Be sure to mention your disability issue to help them get you a good site. If you haven't already call ahead and inform them We have arrived as early as 10am. Got straight in one time and had to wait a little another. Sometimes you can even get upgrades free when available. It doesn't hurt to ask. Info from the fort: Loops by type Loop 100 – Preferred Loop 200 – Preferred Loop 300 – Preferred Loop 400 – Premium Loop 500 – Premium Loop 600 – Premium Loop 700 – Premium Loop 800 – Premium Loop 900 – Premium Loop 1000 – Premium Loop 1100 – Premium Loop 1200 – Premium Loop 1300 – Premium Loop 1400 – Premium Loop 1500 – Partial Loop 1600 – Full Loop 1700 – Full Loop 1800 – Full Loop 1900 – Full Loop 2000 – Partial Best Loops - Best is a subjective term. Generally, campers want to be near the Settlement Trading Post on the north end of FW, which would allow them to be close to the FW marina and beach, Pioneer Hall, and guest services. Loops in this area are 100 through 500 and 700. Others may want to be more near the center of FW near the Meadow Trading Post, the campfire program, the main swimming pool, tennis courts and Bike Barn. Loops in this area are 600, 800 through 1600. For those campers who want to be a little farther away from the action and are looking for quieter surroundings, loops 1700 through 2000 are best. Guests in Cabins are located in loops 2100 through 2800. 2100 is the closest to the center of the resort. Loops 2200 through 2800 get increasingly farther away as the loop number increases with 2800 being the closest to the south end of the resort near the entrance. They can visit. Getting to you can sometimes be a hassle but not always. The easest way in my opinion is to get a minnie car (special Lyft car) and have them drive to you. They can also use the bus system (it will be two busses) or they can drive up to gate and tell guard they are visiting you(may or may not let them in but since they are on property too, should make it in.) They could also take the boat from Magic Kingdom to the Fort.

RE: Dumping Tanks in an Empty Full Service Site

I have been told on more than one occasion to go ahead and use an open site. I always ask first and have never been told to wait in line instead.

RE: Stockyards, Ft Worth, TX

The three steakhouses in the area that are well known are: Cattlemen's - Has a history, some think expensive. H3 - newer, interesting decor Riscky's - has a history, rustic All have good food but can be crowded. Do a little checking on the web and get a feel for which might suit you best. BBQ in the area is tourist trade type. Best BBQ in Ft Worth is Angelo's on White Settlement Rd. a few miles away.

RE: camp ground cable into

You will need a tuner of some type with an HDMI output. The tuner will need to be QAM and ATSC compatible to be able to use it on Cable systems and OTA antennas.

RE: Power Cable Extension options ??

If you were in the US, by code, pedestals are supposed to be at the left/rear of sites and you will rarely need a longer shore power cord. Canada doesn't have those codes and pedestals can be a long distance away. I've heard of up to 100' in some Then I have been in a lot of campgrounds violating that code( if there is one). I have been in sites where the pedestal was at the front left, middle or back. Also, on the right back and directly behind. I suggest having at least an additional extension of 25'. So far I have used my extension twice.

RE: Stoped routine

X2 on the infrared thermometer. I also check the storage and entry doors to make sure they didn't self open; especially if I had recently been over rough roads.
