RE: Does anyone use an aftermarket Tire pressure system?

I put an aftermarket TPMS system on my 4x4 van because it spends most of its time on dirt roads and I've ruined tires because I didn't know a tire was losing air. Type I got had the sensors that screw on the valve stems; the monitor plugged into a powerpoint inside the van. For 11 months the system was wonderful - at a glance I could see the pressure AND temperature of each tire. Then one day the system started malfunctioning and shortly thereafter quit altogether. The company that sold them (still under warranty for a month!) had disappeared so no help that way. I haven't replaced the system yet but I'm really interested in this topic to see which of these systems work well...and continue working for a few years!

RE: easy on/off truck caps?

I've got the same type of eyebolts installed in my camper shell. And a pulley system with a worm-drive hand cranked winch in my pole barn, along with a rack to hold the shell when I remove it off the truck. So to remove or install the shell now takes only about 15 minutes. The rack holds the shell up high enough so all I need to do is back the truck under the shell, then drop the shell a couple inches onto the truck bed. The worm drive winch is handy because it cranks easily and holds the load in place without extra steps needed to lock it in place.

RE: What did you wake up to this morning?

Parts of the Nevada desert received record snowfalls for early November this past weekend. Some locations got over a foot...and the temperatures, which last week were in the 70s, this week are not getting above freezing. View from my deck: https://i.imgur.com/KtuXpYPl.jpg

RE: Ford 7.3 gas engine

Do the brakes on gassers wear out faster than the brakes on diesels? Or is it caused from all of those additions stops at the gas stations? LOL It's called an exhaust brake. Going down a steep grade I rarely need to touch the brakes. That old Cummins seems to hold back as strongly going down the hill as it does pulling up the hill. My rig with the V-10 seems to freewheel down a hill in comparison.
