Adding extra solar panel to 2019 Northern Lite

My Northern Lite came with one 95 watt solar panel. I would like to add another but my solar knowledge is lacking. does the second panel have to be a 95 watt panel or can I add a 100 Watt The one is almost like a trickle charger not enough to charge from 50% even in sun most of the day

RE: mounting a propane tank to bumper

close the thread all I wanted was some advice on carrying extra propane, this is ridiculous, out of eight pages I think I got only a couple of helpful hints. there are some who will not run their referigators on propane when driving even though that is why they were built to run on propane. For those of you that were honestly trying to help me solve a problem , thank you. as for the rest good night

I also lived in Las Vegas before it turned into a extension of California evaporative coolers do not work there anymore. To many golf courses and swimming pools, the humidity is to high for them to be effective. they still work in places like pahrump Boron and Ridgecrest California.

RE: mounting a propane tank to bumper

Propane bottles need to be mounted somewhere where they won't be damaged if someone rear ends you - or you rear end someone who stops short in front of you. there are many propane tanks protected by a thin piece of sheet metal and at the height if they were hit in the side the propane tank would take the worse of it We have propane trucks that deliver propane to homes one was hit by a train it was horrible no explosion or no catastrophe from fire now give me a example of of one of these bombs you refer to

RE: mounting a propane tank to bumper

a loan of vehicles run on gasoline and or propane I saw several California cars owned by the state of california . The propane tank could be partially seen below the rear bumper. I also love the people who go unhinged when I fill my diesel truck up with diesel and they are screaming a spark could kill everyone. that isa crock there are no sparks from a diesel no spark plugs, try to ge4t diesel fuel to burn with a match see what happens inn a propane tank is overheated it bleeds off slowly. I had a class a with a 32 gallon propane tank the only thing protecting it was a thin piece of sheet metal if a car had hit the side of that class a the propane tank would have taken a hit to bend it badly or worse. a lot of R V's have poorly mounted propane tanks ha worry warts get a grip

If some people do not agree with then then they imply everyone is ignorant. where do you think cars that run on propane place those propane tanks under the back by thebumper. Know all the facts before you label people with ignorance abounds because usually it is the one without all the facts

I do not understand the confusionI have had a class c 2017and a class A both if in a accident could be damaged. I had a class B burn to the ground while on a trip to louisiana. no explosion from the gasoline tank or the propane tank. some people get over cautious manic cautious. these taks have built in safety feature

RE: mounting a propane tank to bumper

I measured the distance the factory mounted tanks are from the rear of the vehicle (7) seven inches. that is seven inches of fiberglass. the bumper on my 10-2cdse is refereed to as a patio bumper so there would be substantial steel protecting the tank. A puncture of a propane tank does not equal explosion.

RE: mounting a propane tank to bumper

The factory mounted propane tanks, are (7) seven inches from the rear of the camper. Just smashing the tank usually will not cause a explosion unless there is also a spark associated after the puncture

mounting a propane tank to bumper

we bought a 2019 northern lite it has the two little propane bottles like you see on b b q grills. I am looking for a way to mount either two of the same size tanks to the large bumper or even better say a 20 or 30 pound and never have to use the small ones that are so hard to get in and out. Thank those of you for helping with this according to cummins the generator will run for 3.5 hours on one tank that came with the camper. I have seen one northern lite with a tank on the bumper and the hose ran through to the mount inside the compartment. hope it can be done

Best way to install extra propane

I saw a 2017 Northern Lite with a big L P bottle somehow attached to the rear bumper. Cummins gave me paperwork on how long the generator would run usually half power with two 5 gallon standard L P bottles just about eight hours in the fall winter and spring these numbers might be sufficient. To run the fridge hot water and some heat. But summer camping that is inadequate. Would it be best to try and mount two more of the 5 gallon tanks to the bumper and swap them out as needed, or something bigger permanently running the line into the regulator. Our second truck camper was a 1998 Real Lite. It had two 7and 1/2 gallon L P tanks that slide in sideways and we never ran out but that is a little over three of the smaller ones filled at 80% With cooler weather coming on I have some time, we enjoy mostly dispersed camping so I do need to get a plan together With the large bumper on the Northern Lite I could make mounts for two 5 gallon tanks to swap them out or maybe a larger one that is constructed to lay sideways. I am going to check out factory type mounts for the bumper, if that is not successful it will be time to put the fabricating hat on. I f you have suggestions please let me know. We very much want to make a trip to Alaska so extra propane would be a big help not knowing the distance between L P stations

RE: Torklift fronts and Happijac rear?

I did the same thing on a 05 dodge with a winter creek camper that weighted over 5000 lbs. this time when I bought the new camper the dealer said it would void my warranty, not sure how that would affect a refrigerator

Northern Lite

Does anyone know where to purchase a sewer hose that will fit in the factory mounted compartment. That I think was provided to hold a sewer hose. If this orifice was not intended to store a sewer hose can you please tell me what the intended use was. Thank you

new 2500 cummins onan

If you have a new 2500 l p generator. the dipstick sits behind what I think is a L P gas regulator, it is very hard to unscrew the dipstick because raised part of the dipstick hits a screw in the regulator. I have to pull on (what I believe) is a regulator and then twist the dipstick real hard to get it out go the filler tube. A dealer installed the generator not the camper factory are all new onan generators like this?

First get away in new camper

Went to the mountains, 75 degrees in the daytime 50 degrees at night it was great. Love the truck camper life stopped and saw two historic markers with no room for a 40 foot motorhome. Glad I came back to the light side
