RE: Help....advice on purchasing truck camper

Many years ago we had a short box half ton pickup with a Vanguard 8-foot camper on it. The camper was a little bit heavy for that pickup that's for sure. We had it for a few years and then we upgraded the truck and went to a bumper pull. From there we went to the big fiver Silverback with our 2500 HD diesel Laramie. We are now downsizing, back to the pickup and camper. We've found we REALLY LOVE to go quading. Going to be towing quads on a trailer...We really don't want to buy a toy hauler. We have been looking at small class C motorhomes or truck camper for towing the quads... Also not wanting to invest a lot of money in a camper right now as we may find it's too much of a down size for us. If we decide to go up to a smaller much newer motorhome we won't take so much of a hit by purchasing an older truck camper... Hope this post makes sense...lol.. Feel as though I'm rambling on..????

Help....advice on purchasing truck camper

Hi everybody, Looking for some advice. We just sold our 33 LCDTS Silverback fifth wheel and are downsizing to a camper. We have a 2010 heavy duty 2500 diesel with Firestone air bags. We have taken a fancy to a...2000 Adventurer 90FWS EXT Camper.. We are going to view it at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Our truck is only a 6' 4" box but the fella said with the tailgate down we should be able to haul it. The previous owner apparently did. I think he said it's 2038 lb. I was just wondering if anybody else owns that same camper or similar to it and if you're happy with it. Also wondering what you are using to haul it with. Any bit of information you care to share with me would be greatly appreciated.. Thanking you in advance. Regards Jo

RE: Replacing Concertone Stereo,

Hello again Everybody, I just wanted to thank everybody for all your help. Thought I would let everyone know we have decided the best route for us is to let the prospective buyer know that unit is bad and needs replacing. Just a little bit too much for us to handle in the technical end of it I'm afraid.... LOL I did check with a used RV parts supplier in our area, we only have the one. He didn't have anything that could replace that unit. He too suggested the car radio etc... but as I say it's a little too technical for us. Splicing wires and stuff is going to run us into a big headache I'm afraid. So once again I want to thank everybody for your input, it is greatly appreciated. This unit is just going to have to go up for sale with a bum radio. Thanks again everybody. Have a fun and most of all a safe summer everyone. Regards Jo

Replacing Concertone Stereo,

Hello Everyone... Again I am looking for the voices of experience. My Concertone stereo has shorted out in my 2006 Silverback Fiver...was fine when parked last Fall but dead now...It zaps all fuses and sparks like crazy. The worst of this is, I wanted to listen to music while preparing the RV for sale..uuuughh ....did not need this. Have owned it since 2010 with no issues, now this. I am hoping to get advice on how and what to swap this stereo out to. The present stereo has is a rather large unit...not sure how to fill in the gaps of the hole cut for the Concertone or any unit that will mel with the present wiring system. Also big concern is cost as I am selling the unit. Also really am hoping to keep costs to a minimum.... Any AND ALL SUGGESTIONS would be GREATLY appreciated .. Thanking Everone in advance.... Jo
