RE: good sam benefits vs. cons

thanks, this is the kind of info I'm looking for...Army vet... figured as much just verifying.. just see GS posted everwhere. FMCA has a veterans chapter that I belong to. We have rally's combined with the Elks and Full Timers chapters, always a good time. FMCA now has almost 4,000 members that own towables. If you want more info, PM me.

RE: First class A, tippy feel when driving

Those tires are 14 years old. Normal life of a tire is 7 years. Due to the low mileage and lack of use, I would seriously consider a set of new tires.

RE: 22.5 tires $$$$ ?

FMCA has discount programs for Continental, Hankook, BF Goodrich, and Michelin. You can now join FMCA with a towable.

RE: Oil Change

You guys keep up the 3-5K oil changes. I do own stock in some oil companies.

RE: Oil Change

If you are worried, change the oil before you leave, keep it filled on the trip, and change it when you get home. Read your owners manual and see what it says. The days of 3,000 mile oil changes went the way of the dodo bird

RE: Huge Range in Insurance Premiums

Interesting. I was with NG at close to the $2500 price. I am considered full time because of the amount of time I spend in the coach. Most insurance companies consider anything over 120 days a year as a full timer. Might want to check that out. I did have a small claim ($7,000) with NG and they were a little hard to deal with and then they raised the rates out of sight. I think they were trying to get the $7K back within 3 years

RE: New Location For Licensing

It will cost you a lot more to register in AZ for sure.

RE: Pulling A trailer

What is the weight of the trailer? Take that amount away from your GCVW

RE: New Class A Buyer with Questions

In my opinion, NADA is a joke. Pricing is determined by what people are willing to pay. For $70K, you can step up into a really decent coach in the Country Coach/Monaco line

RE: Antenna

Did you check the fuse on the backside of the panel? On my booster, there is a fuse

RE: Florence to Eugene or Reedsport to I 5?

Oh boy! The road from Reedsport to Drain is an ok road except for a tunnel and a narrow bridge. My last trip on that road cost me $9K in damage because another coach was half way on my side of the road on the bridge.Meeting a logging truck in the tunnel isn't for the feint of heart either. I have traveled both roads and from now on, I'll go to Florence before cutting over to I5. Now here comes those that say "no problem"

RE: Residentials and generators - all day.

So they need 120 power. They do not need it 24/7. I went over 20 hours without power because of a faulty transfer switch and guess what? Everything was still frozen like a rock and the refer side was still below the danger zone as far as temps go.

RE: Puerto Pensaco Report

Parked in Playa Bonito for a couple of weeks. It has been windy and pretty cool in the mornings. The Winebagel groups that usually come down canceled this year because of all the "unrest". Haven't seen any of that yet. Park is about half full but has been filling up for the long weekend We usually stay for 4-6 weeks but only get to stay 2 this year because we have to be in Georgia by the 6th of March. Have to eat and drink fast
