RE: Best mouse trap?

after using mousetraps for a number of years i decided to get several tubes of caulk and crawled under my trailer sealing up any and every opening. i left the traps anyway and haven't had a mouse in 5 years. pay particular attention around wheel wells as a main way they get off the ground are the tires and anything else that touches the ground like jacks and cords.

RE: propane connection

I changed out one of my 30 lb hoses to a 5 footer. when i want to attach it to my 100 lb tank i just unscrew the green coupler and screw it onto the big tank. i got the 5 footer with the green hose as it more flexible during cold weather where as the black hose is stiff. and it is easy to wind up when using the 30 pounder.

RE: Traveling in 23 ft trailer with cat

Allie Cat goes camping whenever we go since she was 8 weeks old. She seems to sort of forget over the winter. So we take her out to the trailer for an hour or so at least twice before our first excursion in the spring. We will also drive her around in the truck for maybe half an hour a couple of times as well. Our camping procedure is: put her in her carrier and take out to the truck. After we are on the road 10 minutes or so we will open up her carrier which is on the seat in the quad cab. She usually comes out right away and sits between us on the console on one of her blankets. The litter box, food, water are available on the floor but i can't remember her doing any of that while driving. If we stop for more than 10 or 15 minutes the whole set-up is transferred to the trailer. It is kind of a hassle but we want her with us rather than at home like we did with our previous cats, Kitty and Puddy Tat. Oh, one other thing for traveling. When she senses that we are stopping for gas etc. she will go into her carrier on her own. Once and a while she will get fooled at a traffic light and go in and it we always laugh about that.

RE: Dump Station Etiquette???

i dump the tanks, pull ahead so the next guy can get in. i then dump 5 gallons into the black with a cupful+ of laundry detergent. then empty that and backflush at home a few times.

RE: Furnace

check your co2 detector is doing. if it is going to orange or red it is a furnace issue. take the furnace out which isn't easy and check your electrodes and wiring. my furnace started acting up just like yours. taped a bare wire and replaced electrodes and it has worked fine since.

RE: Fresh water problem

yup. that's what it is. the outside hoses are usually hooked up to bypass the water softener as mine outside spigots do.

RE: What do you shut off when leaving for a trip

turn off water pump. don't want to take the chance returning to a flooded house. also turn off water heater. if gone for a week or more i unplug the water softener. control furnace and ac with my phone.

RE: Expert Towing Advice

get bigger truck or much smaller/lighter trailer. did not like pulling a 16 footer with a 6 cylinder. went to an 8 cyl and would forget the trailer was back there. pulls our 26 footer all over the country, i know it is there but don't have to worry about white--nuckling it.

RE: Bighorn National Forest - Hwy 14 or Hwy 16?

hwy 14 is the most scenic but it also is more difficult to drive for larger rv's hwy 16 is easier to drive. scenic but not like hwy 14.

RE: Grand Tetons first come first serve

they won't get into colter village unless they have reservations (it is a full hook-up campground). if they go to the colter bay campground just to the east, they should be able to get a site. they are roadway pull-offs with no hook-ups.
