RE: Drawing water from a lake

If you have no other choice for water, use a Marine Water Maker. It will take some nasty water and clean it up to drink. Used worldwide in Marine industry. Marine water makers due require maintenance, power and a drain line.

RE: What is this thing called?

The table base will continue to crack if you tow with the table installed. Remove and stow table top and legs while towing. The base is cast pot metal and not very strong, however they will last a long time if you only have table installed when parked.

RE: V10 flute sound from throttle body area

Vacuum leak for sure. Get a Mechanic's stethoscope and you will be able to locate leak. I use mine all the time working on older collector cars.

RE: Bad Interstate battery

They were shipped sometimes with one dry cell. The Dealer would charge to top off and "cook" that cell before sales. That Battery would fail in 1-2 months. I know, I sold them for 20 plus years.

RE: Bad Interstate battery

I have been selling Marine-RV-Photovoltaic batteries since 1978. Interstate was one of my brands. I had so many failures, I dropped the brand and went to Powerstride. Should that be the case with Powerstride, Instant warranty and service. Had problems with Trojan as well.

RE: HURRICANE COMING

Anything in the path of 140 mph will be shredded to pieces. LEAVE NOW! Your S&B may be gone or flooded. Like everyone else said.

RE: Repairing A/C, Leaked All Refrigerant

What year A/C? Old may take R-22 Freon, newer 134A Freon. Easy to solder new valve to charge system. You will need a vacuum pump and a A/C manifold gauge set. Any quality A/C guy should be able to repair. About $140.00-$250.00 estimate. Any remaining Freon can not be emptied in the atmosphere. If you do the work, wear safety glasses.-Good Luck

RE: Please help! Is this buyer of my trailer trying to scam me?

scam-scam-scam, cash only. I sell boats and get these scams all the time. One time I had a cop in Florida go by and check out the address, and there was no such thing, and I'm in California. DO NOT TAKE CHECK TO BANK!

The reported News said Big Rig trailer tire, not RV.

RE: Did I just Get Lied To?

I think the best way to purchase just about anything, is to do your homework and know more than the salesman. That way you should not have to ask much. You should know from research what you are buying, other than condition.

Has anyone RV camped at Watkins Glen racetrack?

Watching the Nascar Race Sunday and the Racetrack had 4000 campsites. Looked pretty cool from the infield camping spots.

RE: Diesel Fuel Mileage Est.

With my 1999 Dodge 2500 Cummins 24 valve diesel 4x4 with 410 gears and OD, we got 16.1 mpg towing our tri axle Stealth Toy Hauler, around 12000lbs on our last trip. Now this is in California at 55mph. Not towing, the best I have recorded was 25.7 mpg. I do read on these Forums that it cost more to maintain a diesel. That is not true. Oil and filters every 5000-7000 miles. No plugs, plug wires, etc. Actually it costs more for a gas engine.

RE: Copper II wood treatment for replacement floor

The use of the product SHOULD NOT BE USED IN YOUR RV. The chemical smell will make you sick. I do a lot of repairs, and the best method for protection is use a an epoxy based paint, (KellyMoore). That will seal and not make you sick. You will NEVER get rid of the smell and toxins from those products. Outdoor use only. Hope this helps

RE: Looking For Feedback on Forest River Rv's

Forest River is the largest manufacturer of RV's. Not all Forest River brands have the same quality control. I have a Forest River Stealth Toy Hauler and very happy with it.

RE: Water Heater= death of me! Please help

As a new Trailer, you should let the Dealer inspect and repair. I'm sure you can ask questions of the Tech. If you mess with it, they could blame you for any repairs. Most people buy new for that reason. Bottom line, you still need to learn all about your Trailer.-Happy camping
