RE: asking for suggestions/opinions

costs? you can buy a 3 or 4 year old 5th wheel that will do you just fine. the added costs will be what you need to pull the trailer. good luck. I'd also say just keep your trailer and save for one a few years down the road. as for kids/grandkids....must kids aren't interested in what you want them to be interested in....don't buy something for them, only you.

RE: Phoenix to Toronto, May 2020

goggle has a route that looks good. 33 hours. It does go through Detroit but that traffic is workable if you go through it on the off hours. Detroit is nothing like Chicago....I am from Michigan.

Diesel Fuel for newer diesels

How are people dealing with the fuel issue in Mexico? I have a 2015 Ford F350 and requires the ULSD fuel. I have issues already in the states with the darn DPF/CAT system. Any thoughts would be helpful, I'd like to drive down to Mazatlan again.

RE: full timing

too open of a question. if you are handy you can do many things right at the rv park. Just keep learning on how to do many of the minor repairs yourself. major repairs....well, you will have to find a repair shop. Most RV campgrounds have a list of repair shops. The biggest problem you will run into, at times, will be getting into a shop and then ordering parts that you need. Weeks could turn into many weeks.

RE: Grand Design Reflection 150 Series

the thing i don't like about GD is that many of the models don't have the 6 point leveling system. After having it on my Montana I'll never NOT have this system.

RE: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust hub out-of-round

just replace the whole hub on the wheels. pretty straight forward, not worth it to turn and replace the brake pads. while at it have the bearings greased, they should be anyway annually at least

RE: 6 gal electric hot water heater upgrade

just don't turn the propane on...keep it simple. no reason to be afraid of propane but don't use it.

RE: New to is mysteries

if you have 2 pull handles you have 2 grey water tanks. Close one and run water from your sinks and you'll figure it out have no idea about the speakers.

RE: Mileage observations

A lot of work to figure out that pulling a trailer will cause your MPG to be about 9-10 a gallon. But thanks for the reminder. A friend once told me that anyone who tells you he gets of 10mpg is lying:-) My MPG is around 9-10pmg when pulling my 16K trailer with my F350.

RE: Home Storage

waste of time on turning wheels. if you want to work on the trailer, and have no anti freeze in system, BLOW OUT ALL OF THE WATER---including the pipes. If you just use a 'heater' it won't work and you will have one hell of an electric bill. I am from Michigan, Up North, and I would never NOT put anti freeze into the system.

RE: HD sat dish needs replacing.....not covered?

Interesting that you are talking about your sat dish. nothing in warranty states it as a coverage. if it was damaged via an accident your insurance will cover it.

RE: Springs

yes. has a 'nipple' on the end of the bolt. NOTE: these bolt do crack/break so periodically check them.

RE: weak antenna signal

I hate it that they still use RG59 cabling. But that isn't the issue. You need to call winegard to find out what antenna you have. I suspect you do have an amplified antenna...but? Winegard does have great support.
