RE: Small Propane Cylinder

I have 2 small 5 ponders and use them for my outdoor stove. When they are empty I just get them filled at Costco along with my big 20 pounder.

RE: Help me with current best manufacturers

Have had both an airstream and now a northwood ( Artic fox) I really liked the airstream but the price on a new one is nuts plus outside storage sucks. The Arctic fox is also pricey but lots of outside storage, quality is subpar the cabinetry is just pressed board But the AF does tow pretty nice as well did the Airstream.

RE: Looks like a nice TT

depends on what is important to you. For us access to seating, fridge, beds, bath and panty with the slide(s) in is very very very high priority for rest/lunch stops etc. It may not be for you, that is for you to decide. It's not clear what is accessible with the slide in. Next, usually trailers with similar designs have a exit door in the bedroom for emergency exit in case of fire etc. Looks like this is lacking that which means the bedroom emergency exit is out through a windows if there is anything (fire/smoke) blocking the access to the door. There is a reason many trailers with similar designs are on the lot with slides OPEN, easy to overlook what it's like with slides closed. A panty with a slide!????????

RE: Battery over charging.

Voltage will rise as the plates become exposed to air... Current will rise but not voltage while using a properly functioning controller. The controller should hold its 13.x to 14.x set point voltage up to its current limit regardless of battery condition. The voltage will decrease once the current limit is reached. eend - Is this the same battery you said was toast or did you buy a new battery? My guess is your bad controller toasted the old battery. I took the bad battery back to Costco last week and got a full refund and I bought a brand new one back. But I did order a new controller yesterday so it should be here today according to my friends at Amazon.

RE: Inverter wire size?

I installed a 1000 watt inverter, I wanted to use 8 gauge wire, but that is hard to find and expensive. But I bought a cheap set of 12’ 8 gauge booster cables for $13.00 at our local Canadian tire store, Cut the clamps off, and soldered new round connectors on , and works perfectly.

Battery over charging.

I have 2 100 watt solar panels on my roof, and a Zamp solar controller which came standard with the trailer. On the display it shows that the battery is sitting at 16 volt, when the sun is out and charging and I can hear the battery hissing. I always thought that that the controller holds it at 12- 14 volt. Does this mean that my controller is pooched? With this over charging at 16 volt, my inverter won’t work either.

New battery cost.

We are ready to head to Montana next week, from Alberta and today I found out that my battery is pretty much toast, Deep cycle batteries run about at about $175- $190 dollars here in Canada. Just curious what the cost is on the in the US? It might be cheaper for me to get one at Costco or any other place. When I do a Google search nothing comes up because I’m in Canada.
