RE: Too old to drive ?

I turned 87 last Oct. Got rid of the Motor Home 2 years ago. Still drive the car. but my eye sight is failing. Already have lost most of my sight in right eye. Go in next week to see if they can do any thing with the left eye. If it goes I guess I will just sit here at home. Already have to sit very close to the TV to make out the writing on the screen. But I will keep moving about as long as I can walk. Good luck to all of you out there, just be careful.

RE: wind power

I sure learned something just a couple of days ago. The way it sleet and snowed the Wind turbines froze and could not turn and they were worthless the solar panels had snow piled up on them and no sun shine they were worthless also. That was right here in the southern part of the county. I just wonder about this Green energy.

Snow

You know every since it started snowing my wife has been looking through the window. I guess if it keeps snowing, I'll have to let her in.

RE: Reminiscing...harrowing Experiences in the Military

I know some one up there must like me. 20+ years Military 2 tours in Vietnam.
22 years as a Deputy Sheriff. Been shot at in both jobs. Very lucky in both jobs or they were all just poor shots.
87 years and still going, just not quite as fast.

RE: I Hope This Doesn't Get Taken Down Right Away

I sure do remember that day, I was a TI at Lackland AFB,TX. We were having a Parade. Going into the first left turn on the parade field a runner came up to our mass commander and gave us the news. We did finish the Parade. I was on CQ that night and the telephone never stopped ringing.

RE: fan Clutch on Diesel

Son-in-law said they fixed the fan. He said they told him that the shaft that has the fan on it was bent just a little, but they took care of that. We will wait to see how long it lasts this time.

RE: Renewal Cards and Strange Address

Sure glad I'm old and have got rid of the MH and quit traveling. As my hearing is gone I don't even own a cell phone.
With GS going digital, I would really be in a hurt.
Just turned 87 this month.

fan Clutch on Diesel

Anyone on here had a lot of trouble with the fan clutch on a diesel engine.
I'm trying to do a little research for my son-in-law about his fan clutch.
Not sure of the Make and model on the engine, coach and year.
But I do know the coach is not 5 years old yet. But the Fan Clutch has went out 4 times. I don't know if it's still under warranty. I do know the first 2 times it was. We were in Montana first trip for the coach from Denver. The repairman said it was because of a piece of plastic someone forgot to remove and was stuck in the fan. Second time not sure of the cause. 3rd time the fan,fan housing and every thing came loose and came right out the side of the coach doing a lot of damage. The company that made the coach repaired every thing and blamed it on the repairman that fixed it the second time it went out.
That time it threw parts all over the road just outside of Amarillo, TX. This time they are sitting on a parking area a few miles from Grand Junction, CO. Waiting on a wrecker.
The coach is a High end one. 40 footer.
Just wondering if anyone on here had a similar experience. Thanks
Hope to post a little more info soon.

RE: For all you carpenters

I always have to cut a board 3 or 4 times and they are still too short.
Then I just get out my board stretcher.

RE: banana's

Wrap the end with foil, the end that they were attached to each other or the tree. It will make them not ripe so fast.

RE: How do I reach these clearance lights?

Go up on the roof lay down on your belly and fix the lights. Use to have a Itasca that had lights like those. replaced the bulbs a few times. Worked for me.

RE: jacks up or down

If they are hydraulic cylinders (can you see a shiny shaft extended when they are lowered?) then they should be stored in the closed/retracted position. Otherwise, rust will form on the shaft, and when retracted after storage, will damage the hydraulic seals.
I second that from experience.

RE: Preparing for isolation to avoid contact with Corona virus

I'm 86 and I just go on and live my life as I have always done.
When the good lord is ready for me it won't make much difference what else is going on.
