It would not hurt to jumper circuit breaker for testing only! You could take test with voltmeter. One lead to ground, other lead to each side of breaker terminals. You should have 12 volts one each side.

Here is manual that should help.Manual I would blow the furnace compartment out good with compressed air, compressor or can will work. Have you tested the thermostat? At furnace connect the two blue wires on terminal block. Furnace fan should start immediately. In 15-20 seconds burner should kick in. separating the two blue wires the furnace should go into cool down mode and then shut off. If no operation, Check the circuit breaker to insure it is energized. This is mounted on motor housing.

RE: Need Help with Utility Trailer Decision

I would go with the steel. Most utility trailers are store outside when not in use, making them more prone to weather damage. The steel open deck allows for debris from objects carried to fall through keeping deck cleaner. In the event you haul small items, you could simply lay a tarp to prevent boxes or the like from moisture and road debris.

RE: North Whidbey Rv Park @ Oak Harbor,WA

Con is it is pretty close to WA 20. Noise could effect some people. If possible try to get site on old Coronet Bay side of park. Pro is the fact it is walking distance to Deception Pass State Park. It has been a while since we were there.

RE: Need help replacing charging circuit solenoid.

That could be due tovoltage drop on the small wire. Voltage drop to the voltmeter could be slightly effected by voltage drop.

RE: Need help replacing charging circuit solenoid.

No, the coil will draw very low amperage, maybe 1 amp.

RE: Need help replacing charging circuit solenoid.

I am saying whacking the relay (solenoid) made the connections inside work. It maybe wise to replace it! I don't like to throw parts at a problem, but in this case it could be worth it.

RE: Ford Starting /House Charging Question UPDATE Test

I would not come off the alternator. I would look for a circuit that is hot in run such as wipers, radio heater and the like. Use a fuse tap from fuse block. Some rigs have fuse block under hood with switched power. My reasoning is if something happen in alternator tap, you could have damage to charging system.

RE: melting plug

I went to Smartplug website. I saw nothing indicating Coast Guard, NEMA, UL or NEC approval.

RE: Ford Starting /House Charging Question UPDATE Test

Most people would not know if the charge/isolator energizes. They would normally proceed right by the on position and go for start. Older rigs did not have the electronics. My 1993 has electronics to delay the energizing. Some had the Mom/off/dual switch. That is what we had in my old 1986 Itasca. It sort of worked! Switch failed then connectors on relay and finally relay corroded internally.

RE: Ford Starting /House Charging Question UPDATE Test

Ford starter is energized by the starter relay. Power to the starter control circuit and under dash fuse block comes off the large post on the relay. Ford uses fuse links adjacent to the relay to protect the wire. Ignition switch when turned to start position applies power to the coil.

RE: Need help replacing charging circuit solenoid.

How much time between starting the rig and the voltage going up? It could be the chassis battery had to come up a little before circuit board allowed relay to energize. Try to locate the battery control circuit board and post number. You may be OK!
