RE: Charging batteries with a small generator

Need to determine the charge rate of your converter. Many have converters rated around 35 ampere output. This in many cases is not sufficient. Adding a separate battery charger isn't going to help much as the normal safe charge is around 10 amperes.
While boondocking refer should be set on auto. When genset is running, the refer would run off 120-volts AC.
1000-watt generator maybe a little small.
My thinking changing the converter to say a 50-ampere output would help.

RE: Is replacing the furnace worth it?

You should be able to replace motor and other parts without removing the furnace.

RE: Who makes the shocks?

Look for identification tag on your axles to determine who made them. Check etrailer for some. Possible Dexter

Good chance your furnace is a Hydro Flame now Atwood
Motors are fairly economical. Easy to replace.

RE: Rte 212 from Rapid City to Garryowen

I have traveled US 212 a week or so ago. I see no reason you would have any troubles. I picked it up at Alzada, left it at Broadus

RE: Military Campgrounds

Many retirees are abusing the 14-day rule and stay at some facilities for several months. They move from one site to another at some bases and the base commander allows it.

RE: Kwikee Step

The magnet needs to be adjusted to tell the step to retract.
As for the step retracting issue, I would check the connector for the control box and the two ground connections.

Since unit doesn't work on lp and marginal on electric, test the thermistor.

RE: Broken Leaf Spring

The springs should be marked. Markings should be on the right end of axles.
After identifying your axles get the exact replacement for all.
You could upgrade some if all other components are done.

RE: House Battery Disconnect Not Working

That means the switch or wiring is issue.
Remove the switch from the wall to gain access to terminals.
The both sets of end pins should have 12-volts DC. Switch should have opposite corners of switch jumper to reverse voltage polarity.
The center two pins should have 12-volts DC when switch is pushed.

RE: House Battery Disconnect Not Working

You are having a helper push switch and hold for short time to get reading?
With meter across small terminals, you will get either positive 12- volt reading or negative reading.

RE: Battery Disconnect Solenoid Fuse

RV lite is a supplier of RV custom products part number RVCV1002. RVC- 1002Appears to be a magnetically held relay
Before throwing money at it, disconnect small wires from relay ant try it again. If fuse blows, then issue is switch or wiring.
Fuse doesn't blow it is in relay.

RE: House Battery Disconnect Not Working

See page 5 of Service manual
From page 5
There are two 5 Amp fuses for the system, mounted on each relay. Looking at the relay with cap at the top, the
fuse on the right feeds the LED indicator and if so equipped, the digital voltmeter. The fuse on the left feeds the
power to the switch that operates the solenoid.
Use a volt meter across the small terminals. The polarity to those terminals should reverse when switch is moved from one location to the opposite. Relay should have strong click when operated and working.
Use a medium size wire jumper between the large terminals. It should have small spark and system is working if 12-volt power comes on.
