RE: Dometic Dm2852 eyebrow board bypass info needed

OP you said you have power to board but also said it got thrown away. Which is it?
You could apply power directly to the 120-volt element. It should start cooling the refer if it is good.
Good chance that the 120-volt relay on board has or had failed.

RE: Proper Power Receptacle For Home?

The Amazon box I linked is an example only. It is good to have a variety including a 120-volt outlet for other outside work in area of the rig. Some big box hardware stores have similar boxes.

RE: Proper Power Receptacle For Home?

An RV electrical panel like this is best way to go. Wire from your main electrical panel with wire correctly sized for the distance. Number 6 would handle the load.

RE: RV Power Cord FIRE!!!

Separation of the molded cord body is common. The conductor insulation gets cracked and shorts out.
You can get replacement cord bodies that are much better. Camco makes a decent one. Amazon

RE: Electrical Issue: Converter, Battery, Something Else?

The converter that I link at Best Converter is only $219
Don't go cheap!

RE: Electrical Issue: Converter, Battery, Something Else?

I hope you mean "17-volts" not amps!
120-volt 15 amp should not have any effect as long it is good solid 120-volts.
Did you read voltage output with battery disconnected?
Did you call Best Converter for their input?

I would call Best converter. They can give you more information, but I think converter is failing.
Have your battery load tested.

RE: Electrical Issue: Converter, Battery, Something Else?

It could be dirty battery connections.
What is make and model of your converter?
How old are the coach batteries?
Do you have a voltmeter? Check the converter output for voltage. Operate the coach battery disconnect and see if voltage increase. If it does batteries could be failing.
Verify AC voltage at receptacle.
Doubt whether it is a concealed wiring issue.

RE: Need Water Heater Help

25-30 Millivolts is what thermal couple puts out. What is lowest voltage scale on your meter? Should have a millivolt scale.
Look at the valve end of the thermal couple to show where to touch in valve. It is very close to opening.

RE: Garmin RV 895 and Fifth Wheels

May have something to do with turning distances. Fifth wheels are computed from king pin where tongue draggers are from ball mount.

RE: What power steps do I have

You should be able to identify step by going under them and getting Make off control box.
Measure width of steps and number of steps.
Odds are they are Lippert brand. Lippert
I would not have taken rig to Camping World.
I got a like new step from Colaw

There should be two numbers to check. VIN is for the chassis and Forest River should have a serial number.

RE: What could be the issue?

That doesn't make sense! Blowing a 100-amp fuse type load could burn out your whole electrical system.
It must be an electrical battery wiring problem. I would locate and careful inspect the Aux start relay circuit. It normally is same circuit as battery charge circuit.

RE: Need Water Heater Help

You can test the thermal couple.
Disconnect from the valve. Look closely at that end. You should see a center wire. second "wire" is tube.
Connect a voltmeter on lowest scale to each, use long lighter and heat the thermal couple. Memory serves you should see around 85 millivolts.
You can test coil in valve. On Ohms scale read between housing and center of connection point. You should see high resistance. No memory on level.

RE: What could be the issue?

Is the 100-amp fuse in the cable feeding the genset?
Is it connected to the positive post on the battery?
What do you mean by it is fine when genset is going, then blows when it is on?
If genset is running, there should very little 12-volts DC on this cable.
Only possibility is vibration from genset is causing cable to be grounded out.
